Ok. Let's see how I can start this. I'm speechless. This place is far, far beyond what I expected it to be. I moved away from Brownsville about 4 years ago and coming back every so often I don't get to check many new things out in town since I'm usually here to spend time with family and friends. One night a buddy and I had dinner but wanted to continue our convo and asked him if there were any coffee shops around town that was still open at the time that had at best, decent coffee. He pondered for a moment and 5 minutes later we ended up coming here. Now, every time I visit Brownsville I'll make it a ritual to visit angelitas every time. The coffee was damn near perfect. 10/10 The pastries/desert options were fantastic. 10/10 The environment was nothing like I remember Brownsville being like when I left. So laid back? Great lighting, not too bright not too dark. Live music to bring the place alive and to enjoy some entertainment while sipping on your cup of happiness. To the owners, the workers, and the entire business. Keep up what you're doing, you're definitely representing Brownsville in the best way by giving people a great spot to enjoy without having to go out on the weekend and partying. Thank you!

    Mazapán coffee.. delicious!

The cozy eclectic vibe is inviting. Tried the Abuelita Mocha and the Mazapán coffee over ice. The barista was very attentive in preparing the drinks exactly as we requested. Resulted in caffeine heaven. Highly recommend! Live music on weekends too!

My mom waxed poetic about this shop and its collection of paintings, so when I came down to visit this place was first on my list to try. The space is too cool for school, it's off the busy street of Boca Chica, but easily accessible through less congested back roads. The walls are covered in beautiful artworks, comprising of abstracts, portraits, and still life. (They are for sale, too!) Assorted pastries are sold but their impressive coffee menu is what I came for. I ordered The Cricket, which has cold brew, Topo Chico, Green Mint, and vanilla, and what a visual it was! The green mint sunk to the bottom, looking like a brunette with dark green dip dyed hair. (Me. I'm saying it looked like me.) The owners are incredibly passionate about their craft and I had a conversation about all the San Antonio coffee spots and how they did research up in the area when opening their own shop down in Brownsville. One of the coolest things about this place is their love and respect for first responders. They even have a table set up in remembrance for those who served. Excellent little spot in a city still trying to figure out how to embrace its budding coffee culture.

This place is amazing! Me and my fiancée just moved to Brownsville and we both love the atmosphere. The owners are really friendly, great people and Marty is a delight to talk to. The coffee is suuuper tasty and they put a lot of effort into choosing their selection. Live music on Friday's and Saturday's. Cozy seating including couches. They have a small library you can read from with a "take a book, leave a book" program. They have paintings from local artists for sale on the walls. If you're looking for a good cold brew, just wanting to chill out with a good book, pick up some local art, or vibe to some live music this is the spot for you 10/10

Cold brew tasted like acetone, Carmel macchiato was all Carmel, whip cream and a tash of coffee.

The shop is very cute and great for photo ops while sipping on your latte. My partner ordered the cinnamon dolce latte with oat milk and I ordered the pour over. The latte was delicious and full of flavor, a little more on the sweeter side so if you're not a sweet tooth individual proceed with caution haha. The pour over was cool because it was DIY type of drink which I've never encountered. Overall, we had a great experience and highly recommend to anyone in town to come visit

I missed Garden Coffee on my last trip, but I made sure to visit this time, and it was 1000% worth it. A small ways past Old Port Isabel Rd (driving down 802) is Garden Coffee. A small, serene little spot - a secret garden. It was virtually empty when Mom and I arrived; the only other occupants were a couple of folks typing away on their laptops. Charming and cozy are the first things that come to mind when walking in. The shop is decorated in plants, and there are cute indoor swings to add to the whimsy. The menu is respectable, I ordered a cortado, pistachio latte, and a cheesecake. The cortado was nice, the snob in me didn't particularly care for it being served in a paper cup (it impacts the flavor somewhat). However, the pistachio latte was probably the best pistachio latte I've had in recent memory. It tasted so natural, and not artificial and bizarre. The cheesecake though? Amazing. Incredible. Perfection. Picture perfect, cut like butter, and tasted like a dream. I really think the staff was the cherry on the cake, though - she was very kind and helpful, took great care in crafting out drinks, and made great suggestions.

Mom and I visited GoodPeople. It's off Ruben Torres near a Goodwill store. It's cute and nice, but with a few tweaks I think they can be pretty great. The menu has your classics: cortado, lattes, americanos, cappuccinos, and pour over coffee, and a nice selection of specialty coffees, cold brew bar, tea, matcha beverages, and fruit refreshers. They also have an assortment of pastries and seasonal menus. I did make a comment that they should probably get the battery replaced in their smoke detector. The constant chirping was pretty distracting. I'm sure patrons who spend time there studying would appreciate that, too. Mom ordered a pistachio crunch cloud latte and a pink frosted cinnamon roll, and I got a rose bud cloud latte. I typically order a cortado as a "control" but I forgot this time around, which is a shame, because I really could have used that unit of measure. I wasn't too much of a fan, to be honest. The rose was very perfumey and overpowering. Before you come at me with, "Well, Cindy, duh, it's Rose," I've had plenty of rose lattes that were an absolute delight. (Curator Coffee comes to mind) It was the first time in recent memory I had trouble getting through my drink. Mom had the opposite problem. She thought her pistachio drink was too subtle on the pistachio! I got to taste it and, maybe it's because I had a mouth full of potpourri, but I thought it was okay. We chalked it up to the sweetness of the cinnamon roll clouding the nuance. (The cinnamon roll was great, by the way) Overall, happy we went, but with Brownsville finally starting to develop a nice showing of coffee shops, I think I have many other places I'd pick first.

IMO the coffee and cookie were very good but too expensive. More than $12…read more The other customers were a closed group of students talking amongst themselves. I didn't have any social interaction except with the barista, who was a lovely young man. That alone was not enough to make we want to come back. Guess I'm just an old party pooper.
