Marty at Angelita's is rocking the smoothest, most balanced, long-enjoying, chocolatey, cold process, cold coffee I have had in a long time...and by long time, I mean, I'm a coffee roaster and I had some really good coffee Yesterday, back in San Francisco ... and to stumble across this careful, studious, mad scientist, meticulously light-roasting an amazing Brazilian bean from the Cerrado region...careful to not simply burn it like 90% of folks do, but hang wayyy back and let those complex fruit notes and spices survive the Texas heat AND humidity, and boom, in this music-lover's paradise of a room, quietly protected to perfection. It was so good I ordered refills. It is so much fun to try local roasts that differ from the mainstream., My server was super nice and took care of me. God bless Texas!
