The cold brew was strong but not bitter, super bold and kept me caffeinated all day! The cream was fluffy, milky and sweet, very delicious! The laid-back, chill atmosphere translated to the service. Marty at Angelita's is rocking the smoothest, most balanced, long-enjoying, chocolatey, cold process, cold coffee I have had in a long time...and by long time, I mean, I'm a coffee roaster and I had some really good coffee Yesterday, back in San Francisco ... and to stumble across this careful, studious, mad scientist, meticulously light-roasting an amazing Brazilian bean from the Cerrado region...careful to not simply burn it like 90% of folks do, but hang wayyy back and let those complex fruit notes and spices survive the Texas heat AND humidity, and boom, in this music-lover's paradise of a room, quietly protected to perfection. The decor is lovely, with little poinsettia plants on each table. I love the wall of coffee mugs with plants. For a little coffee shop, the menu had some good selections of food. Mom had the strawberry bagel, and I had the avocado toast. The toast was great. Not too much in terms of quantity, and full of flavor. Mom had an abuelita mocha and I had a sugar cookie latte. My latte was very good! The donut selection also looked pretty great - but I forgot to order one to take home to dad. The lady who took our order was very nice, and took extra care bringing our order to us (we could have easily gone to the counter to grab them, but she was kind enough to bring it over). Best of all, this spot is not very far from home, so visiting here regularly when I'm in town is much more realistic.

I loved the decor inside. It was beautifully decorated. You wouldn't think this building is old as heck. The light fixtures, wall decor, etc was very pretty without being overwhelming. Service was great. There were two ladies manning the shop and I think the manager came in later. He let us know the pistachio cookies were ready. The girl making the lattes was very nice. I made sure to compliment her latte art, and she showed me a photo of a swan she made that she was very proud of! Cure Coffee is small and unassuming and too close to comfort next to Angelita's Coffee Shop (Two…read morecoffee shops in the same strip area? Yikes...) but Cure Coffee holds its own. What it lacks in decor, it makes up for in flavor. Despite the lack of decorations, it's still a cozy shop with an impressive selection of homemade syrups and specialty lattes like the Honey Bear, Cookie Butter, and Cereal Milk. My sister ordered the lemonade and it was very good and very tart! It made both of my ends pucker. The cortado is lovely. Not punchy, fantastic texture and cream. Just a touch of Mexican vanilla flavoring so that it doesn't take over. Smooth and silky. One of the better cortados I've had in the city (Probably in my top 3 now?) Really the only downside is how hidden away it is. Boca Chica is an extremely busy street, so you have to be intentional coming here. It's not necessarily a "stumble upon" spot like with others. Regardless, I'm hoping word will spread and Cure will build up a loyal fanbase. I know I'm a fan.
