I'm hesitant to write this review, because I don't want this place to catch on, become too popular and be unable to meat demand (sorry I had to...). Wallace is a rare combination of the highest quality product, convenience and affordability. Their website is simple to navigate and order from, while the monthly pick up as quick and easy as it gets, you're in and out in 30 seconds. The products, well I don't know where to begin. Everything I have purchased from them has been excellent (and there has been a lot). I have purged my kitchen of any grocery store bought meat and have switched solely to Wallace. Their meat comes vacuum sealed and frozen, which has resulted in my freezer being stocked to the brim with grassfed, organic and ethically raised meat. I challenge you to find a better steak in the city at any price, let alone the prices they charge. For a similar cut at these price points, you're probably looking at a styrofoam tray with a gray piece of meat on it from your local supermarket. read more

I've never actually been to the Wallace Farms warehouse in Naperville but I am familiar with their products. I place an order monthly and pick it up myself at their Wauconda drop-off. I was skeptical of their products at first because they are delivered frozen but everything is actually great quality. The grass-fed beef is tasty and healthy(er) than mass-produced beef you find at the grocery store. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy a fatty piece of grain-fed steak every once in a while, but I also enjoy good health.. If I had to recommend one item to purchase from Wallace Farms, it's definitely the BACON. I'm pretty much over the whole bacon craze but Wallace Farms managed to change my mind. I have to review Wallace Farms because this is far and away the best meat I have ever eaten. I am paleo as well like a previous reviewer, so grassed, pasture-raised, stress-free meat and poultry are very important to me. As a result of how Nick raises his animals, the meat tastes phenomenal as well. Every month my orders have gotten bigger and bigger, to the point where 100% of my meat is from Wallace Farms. I have not had a bad cut yet. They even came out with bacon burgers that I was able to taste and will (hopefully) be available in August. I would go into a list of my favorite things from Wallace Farms, but it would literally just be a list of everything on their website. Give these guys a try, you won't be disappointed. read more

After going paleo last year, I was thrilled to find grass fed beef being delivered locally. Imve been ordering the grilling sampler, pork, bacon, and sausage regularly now. I love the shredded pork and pork chops. The pepper bacon is great too. I'm not as crazy about the BBQ pulled pork, but Ive been getting it because he has been out of the pork without sauce. But I love Nick's Sticks to take into work. The salmon pepperoni is good, too.This is the way meat should taste! The flash freezing process makes it taste better than anything you can get at the market somehow. I really like supporting Nick's commitment to animal husbandry. His blog posts and FB page show his commitment to the animals he raises. I also like stopping in the warehouse and seeing him working on the truck and his beautiful wife and kids running the register. Simply the best! My sister-in-law introduced us to Wallace Farms and we haven't looked back since. We have been ordering (ship to door) meat from them for probably close to 2 years now and haven't had 1 issue. I have never ever liked bratwurst in my life, the moment I tried the Wallace Farms bratwurst I was amazed at how good and clean it was! Our family favorites are... pork breakfast sausages, boneless pork chops (seasoned with their spiced medley seasoning), ground beef 85/15 & sugar free bacon. read more

The Wallace family recently opened a warehouse location in Naperville that replaces the Naperville and Aurora buying clubs. While the Wallace family is from Iowa, they provide the BEST 100% grass-fed, organically raised, 0 hormones/antibiotics and sustainably raised beef. In addition, they work with other families to provide butter, certified organic chickens, pasture-raised turkeys, "fresh air" pork, Alaskan seafood and wild American shrimp. My husband and were members of the buying club for years and have purchased a ton of product from Nick Wallace and Wallace Farms. Nothing we've purchased has been short of excellent. Nothing. Nick and his family are also extremely pleasant to do business with and are always open to customer feedback and suggestions. You have to join the buying club (no fees, just sign up online at http://www.wallacefarms.com/scripts/buyingclub.asp) to get info on the warehouse and to place an order. The warehouse is open only certain days and times of the month, but the times are very convenient and the product is well worth moving your schedule around for. If you've not done grass-fed or organic meat (and hubby and I didn't, we'd pretty much eat anything), it's worth trying. While just a bit more expensive than the mass-market goods, the food taste and quality is extremely high on these products. read more

we tried it out...beef...turkey...flat iron steak...strip steak...breakfast sausage...nick's sticks....bacon.....eggs....and i have to say it is really good stuff. it absolutely does taste better and is more tender than store bought crapola. we're going to continue on making them our only source for protein (except for eggs, we'll do the organic cage free from costco, too good a deal). do beware though....it is expensive. if you usually buy non-organic stuff at the store or bulk from costco..you are going to pay 2 to 3 times more per pound. but it's true...if you want to eat farm to table these days you either have to do it yourself or PAY. If you have a family of 4....expect to pay 50-60 bucks a week if you are moderate to heavy meat eaters. read more

I love the grass fed beef from Wallace farms! I buy the beef, the shrimp and the sausage. I just walk in and pick up my order. They have 4 coolers of ala catrte products as well, in case I forget something! The only thing that could make it better is if they had a pick up location in the Tri-City (Batavia, Geneva, St Charles) area. read more

I've been ordering from Nick Wallace and his food co-op/buying club for over three years now, and couldn't possibly be happier with the quality of Wallace Farms' products. In our house we refer to the Bacon as "Nick's Bacon" and it holds a place of honor on our Sunday Breakfast Table. I love the ground turkey, the excellent steaks, the wonderful hams, ribs, and fantastic Alaskan Rockfish. Above it all, Nick Wallace has a great story to tell and even better products to sell. I pick up an order once a month at his Chicago drop-off spot, which is coincedentally is just blocks from me. However, I have been to the Naperville Warehouse as well, where they have many of the same quality items as Nick brings on his truck. Great, grass fed beef and terrific jerky products among others. A friend told me about Wallace Farms when I was chatting at work about trying to find a better, local source for grass-fed beef. I went to the website and was thrilled when the order 'window' was open for delivery this week. Pick up in Naperville was fast and easy and grabbed a couple things I didn't even know I wanted! I've already tried the ground beef (burgers on the grill), the sirloin steak and tonight we had the pulled pork. Everything has been top notch, excellent flavor, like beef is supposed to taste. The pork was amazing even before I put any sauce on it. Tip, you don't need sauce. The Nick's sticks (beef sticks) are the best I've ever had as well. No sugar and No nitrites. The eggs... Huge! I will certainly be a return customer. They were already sold out of tenderloins so I'm dying to try those next time. And judging from other reviews, the bacon in my freezer won't last long either. Great meats and extras. My family will only buy out meat from Wallace. We trust in their grass fed meats and love all the amazing products they have. We get a personalized experience every time we go in and the people even know our names now. I think it's great that I can be Facebook friends with the farmer supplying me the food that nourishes my family. I like knowing exactly where my food is coming from. The turkey sausages and spicy nick sticks are my favorite! People may think the prices are high but I don't put a price on the health of my family and our future. read more

I've been buying from Wallace Farms for several months via their Chicago Ravenswood delivery day as well as the warehouse. It would fair to write that Wallace Farms comprise 97% of my meat stores with the remainder being met by local farmers that come to Logan Square Farmers Market while I finesse how much meat I need to order at a time from Wallace Farms. The quality of the meat is superb. I'm no adherent to any particular diet - paleo or otherwise but what I do practice is buying foods from locally sourced, family owned farms. Having grown up in a rural area where we went and bought our meats directly from the men who raised the livestock, Wallace Farms and the burgeoning number of farmers markets has returned to me a full spectrum diet. When I moved away for college, I stopped eating meat because of the lack of quality available in supermarkets and the increasing loss of family owned farms due to corporate farmer. Nick and farmers like him have enabled me to return to meals that include responsibly raised beef and chicken. I cannot attest to the porcine products but every cut of beef and piece of chicken I have bought has been fantastic. read more

this is premature and I will place a new review once I try out their product but I think their website has a lot to be desired. They also just sent new info, via email, that they will be adding $3 for transportation costs to each order. No where is it on their website. I have received my notification and it shows that they are charging that amount for each item ordered. Perhaps its an error but when ordering they should be able to combine orders automatically and not have to send separate notifications of each item. Perhaps they can have an account for each customer that way the customer can add to their order and keep it as one order. 11/27 - So this is the update. I found the turkey disappointing. Seemed dense in texture and not as tender as I would like. Now I did deep fry mine which I was told would be ok but I am wondering if the cheaper birds fair better prepared that way. Needless to say I wont be buying one again. Have to say the bacon is great as per another reviewer. read more

I've been buying meat from Wallace Farms for years (Wauconda pick up) now that I live in Normal Illinois, I still drive 1.5 hours to Naperville., I just buy more each time so I don't have to go as after. I also love love love the eggs, so fresh. A bit pricey but worth it. read more

My family decided that we would try grass fed beef as a healthier and tastier way to enjoy beef. We ordered from Wallace Farms for our Christmas Dinner. The fillet mignon was spectacular! We since have tried a whole chicken, ground beef, and a flank steak. All have exceeded our expectations. Wallace Farms prices are a bit above the chain grocery stores, but well worth the extra $. My family has decided that we will eat less meat, but far better meat! read more
