    Sushi Platter: Rainbow
    Joneice B.

Needed sushi to take to a party in Bollingbrook. This location was only 5 miles away from my decision. Called in my order after reviewing menu's online. There was some confusion as to the platter's available. The sushi chef sold me on the Rainbow Platter which included 3 specialty rolls and 1 traditional maki roll. Price was 39.99 and included wasabi and ginger. All in all very fresh and a success at the board party that I attended. Mariano's does sushi very well for the price. Would do sushi board again for a party or a date night at home.

The food offerings were good. It would be nice to see some more vegan options. The staff were readily available for questions about ingredients and food allergies. All that is needed to sit and enjoy the food is available in the store. The area is clean and inviting.

Frustrating that so many things I usually or used to buy here never seem to be in stock at this location. Special K breakfast drinks? Nope. The Rick Bayless Milk & Honey granola? Not lately. My parents don't have a problem finding them at the Aurora location. What's up?

The produce section alone was worth it with stacks of fresh fruit and veggies everywhere and good competitive prices for everything and even samples available to try. Very helpful when it came to deciding whether the cantaloupe was worth it or not. I would even argue that the produce is better than at the Jewel AND Whole Foods down the road. The store is well-kept and clean throughout. The bakery, meat and cheese departments and the hot food/salad bar area are great. They have several made-to-order options that looked good and worth trying. Some of the standouts were the broasted chicken, pizza and sushi. For such a fresh looking assortment of dishes to be available at 1pm was a big enticement to come back to grab something for lunch next time I'm in the area. As far as grocery options I would be surprised if you couldn't find what you were looking for in such an expansive store. This is especially true when it comes to the huge variety of international cuisine options. All of the workers I had interactions with were friendly too.

They have many items in bulk, a large fruit and vegetable section, prepared items, meat and seafood and all the seasonings, rice, and noodles. These are big time $$$ differences and they add up. Watch out! As a consumer they should honor their mistakes. They said I should read. Today, I didn't bring my readers, sorry. But when you see 10 items on the shelf above the $9.99 sign, you would automatically think okay, it's $9.99, but at the register it's $12.99. I snapped a picture to prove that there were more than one box above the price. (I could have clapped back and said then your workers should read and be able to put things on the right shelf). Produce that's rotten is sold so make sure you are opening up boxes and packages. Wish I took pictures of the rotting produce. At least I didn't buy those. Saw my receipt that they charged $1.29/lb for my Korean radish which should have been 79 cents. UGH! Guys, pay attention to how they are ringing you up. Two transactions in a row with multiple mistakes. I asked to talk with the manager. The female worker said she is not here and will come at 12noon. Then said actually will come tomorrow. Went to the Customer Service desk and the guy there said the manager is in the bathroom. Both workers started to talk to each other in Spanish. The female worker telling him, tell her the manager is not coming back until tomorrow. I told them I can speak Spanish and I understood everything they said. They got quiet very quickly. As a consumer, I am warning everyone watch the registers and the quality of your food. H-Mart Naperville...DO BETTER!

There's a halal butcher and just a plain butcher, about which as a vegetarian I can tell you nothing, a bakery, and a Latin American and Indian mini-cafe. The produce section is very crowded (and offers a wild variety with some excellent specials), and the endcaps on the aisles extend into the aisle, meaning in several places there's only room for one cart and you'll have to excuse yourself to get where you're going. Be prepared. I was impressed by their selection of organic spices and they also had some organic Asian noodles (buckwheat and soba). They also have a good selection of Latin American groceries, including huancaina sauce from Peru (yes!), frozen plantains and Guarana soda. I've seen larger selections of Indian and Eastern European products at dedicated specialty groceries, but no one else in the area carries it all. Many, many different types of flatbread and a wide selection of Middle Eastern sweets; various dry pulses; various types of candy; pearled farro and more versions of burek than I've seen before, including a "vegan be'f". The Indian mini-cafe is half vegetarian, half non; the Latin American one has various kinds of filling in carbs, and if you're vegetarian, all they have is cheese - though the fried corn-dough empanada, cheese in an eggroll like wrapper and pastelito (cheese in pastry) offered various textural delights. This is a haul for me, and I usually try to avoid I-59 but this place might be worth a special trip.
