If you're looking for cleanliness.... This is probably not the place. The food was mid at best. The bathroom was old, out dated and gross. The floor under our table was dirty. I would have been more understanding if they were busy BUT we were there at 5pm and NOBODY was in there. I can deal with out dated furniture but I about fell through the booth seat! Dirty, smells strong like cigarette smoke, and the benches to the booths are broken and loose. I've been there 3 times and I've had good food once, but the last time we went the hamburger was going bad and the lemonade we ordered was bitter and tasted like mold. We won't be back. read more

We always eat here on the way to Baldwin. It's always delicious and the staff is so friendly!

Grabbed a hobo sandwich to go while passing through and it was ok. I liked the way they packaged it up by wrapping it in a paper plate and then aluminum foil to keep it warm and shapely. I also got hand cut fries and they were great. Overall, the meal was reasonably priced and filling. read more

I haven't been to Angelo and Ricardo's in about 7 years. We stopped going because even though smoking was banned in Michigan in 2009, when were here in 2012 it was so smoke filled you couldn't see. I thought I'd try it again since everyone deserves another chance. I saw on the highway they had new signs, I thought maybe they have new owners and fixed the place up. Unfortunately, it's the same old ____hole it was 7 years ago. The carpet is so worn you cannot even clean it. It's one of the few places in Michigan you can still smoke cigarettes inside the restaurant. The salad bar is disgusting and looks like it had been sitting out all day, everything was crusted over. I had the Chicken Oscar which had boiled asparagus on the bottom, some ham and cheese, a dried-up chicken breast, some slimy fake crab on the sides topped with Cream of something soup for $14.99. As a bonus right in the dining room they have all of their 55-gallon large blue can sorting system with fruit flies and everything. We played music on the jukebox from our phone, as soon as it came on the bartender turned it down because he said the owner likes it quiet in there. He said, "I'm sorry but he's the guy that signs my paychecks" So that is nice that the owner doesn't care about the patrons, or the money they spend on the jukebox, it's all about his wants. The other disgusting thing is that to get to the filthy bathrooms you have to walk through their overflow service area and see the dirty glasses and where they dump food waste (see pictures). The entire place has a cigarette yellow film on it. The owner came behind the bar and being friendly people we said "Hello, hows it going?" He said it'll be a lot better in a minute as he poured himself some liquor. This place has the worst vibe ever and if you want to bring the whole camp down, visit this place. I looked up Michigan's food inspection report to see how many violations they have had but they no longer post it online, you have to request it. It was like I took Marty McFly's Delorean/Time Machine out to dinner and set the dial to 1954 in Hesperia, MI for a vintage dining experience I wouldn't soon forget. As Marty dropped me off out front and I walked up to the doors, I had no idea what I was in for. I had two options to enter this gorgeous building. I decided to choose the door marked "Lounge". As I walked into the "Lounge" the atmosphere was dark and mysterious, just like a lounge should be. The bar stools were full and lined with hard working people that looked like they had just returned from a mine tunnel. Hunched over face first in their dirty glasses of quality Rolling Rock beer. Which BTW a pint of this liquid gold was only a buck fifty. True vintage prices! I was excited. I sat myself down since this was a "do it yourself" sort of place. I found a nice chair and table setup similar to what my great grandmother had in her dining room trailer. (Double wide of course) As I sat myself down and got adjusted in my chair, this beautiful soft-spoken blonde with still wet shower hair walked over with my menu. As she came to me, my menu fell apart in her hands and onto the brown and green stained floor that hadn't been vacuumed in a long time. The bugs and bacteria must have been having a field day in those curly carpet hairs. With that in mind, she bent over and put that same menu right back on the table and gave me a smile that was about the same color as the floor. I couldn't wait for her to take my order. But apparently she was busy and had to go before taking my drink order that I was clearly ready to give. Playing hard to get that trailer park rose. Making me really want that drink..That's fine. I can wait to place my order and bask in this beautiful brown glowing establishment in the meantime. She finally came back and I ordered my food and it came when the cooks got up from the bar and finished cooking it. I ordered the A&R club and it was so delicious that my body couldn't handle it. I immediately required the bathroom facility. I couldn't wait to see what my eyes and anus were in store for. As I entered the bathroom door, it was like I had walked into a Sultan's personal septic tank. The toilet and bathroom stalls apparently didn't need to be cleaned or maybe that person who is in charge of that was at the bar enjoying a cold buck fifty Rolling Rock. I felt like my rear area was not worthy of sitting on this brown and yellow stained bowl, so I had to hover while I released my club sandwich back into mother earth. I left a generous tip and had to finally leave my eye and anus opening vintage dining experience. If what I've described sounds like what you're looking for in a night out on the Hesperia town, then you need to put on your best vintage trousers, suspenders, smoking hat, stretch those cauliflower arms and get down to Angelo's & Riccardo's. read more

I found out something unique about the little fishing town of Hesperia, MI. They apparently love broasted food. Like...not broasted potatoes or chicken. I think they may have had about 8 different broasted items including one of the more expensive dishes: the broasted frog legs. We try and visit this bar/restaurant at least once each time we're in town. $1.50 Miller High Life bottles are nice as well as the many other decent prices they have on crappy booze. My knocks on this place was that all of their food was basically meat flavored salt licks. My traveling companions bought into the salad bar deal and discovered the remains of what looked like second hand Big Boy salad bar dishes. All in all, this place is a decent stop if you're passing through or heading out on a rafting/canoeing trip and happen to be in Hesperia. Just don't expect much. read more

I hope you have better luck than I did. Ordered the "fresh lake perch." It looked and tasted like it had been fried up some hours or days previous and re-heated in a microwave. Think about that for a while. I choked down a few chunks. The salad bar was sad. The garlic bread was droopy. I guess you shouldn't have very high expectations in a town like this. read more

I wanted to rate this place 2 stars because the people were not rude, but for the sake of those who MIGHT go there. Where to start? 1. The "decor" hasn't changed in 30 years. Ok. That just means everything is worn out. The chairs, tables, high chairs, etc. All worn out. 2. The equipment that the "buffet" is on. Where do I start? It has a plywood backboard, you can smell gas, the bottom is held up with a 2"x4", and it looks like something made in the dark ages. 3. The food. It is obvious they don't have a lot of traffic. Example. The cherry tomatoes were shriveled up and 2 had mold on them. The Buffet part was a disaster. The lasagna was mush. It looked like it had been in the bin for 8+ hours. The chicken was fair (not great - not bad). The "cherry surprise" looked like tar it had been in the bin so long (black). The fish was undercooked (fried). The garlic toast served was VERY good. 8/10. The chicken parm served at our table had the following complaints. 1 Chicken was very dry. Must have been frozen because center was still cold. The noodles were fair but the dish was way under seasoned. All the soft drinks were flat. No carbon. 4. The overall cleanliness was poor at best. The floor was disgusting. Worn out carpet with food particles everywhere. The bathrooms were so bad that I used my shirt to open the door. The door handle was sticky, the windows were dirty and there was clutter everywhere. For heaven's sake, there is a HUGE safe in the main dining room. I have since been told there is a restaurant called Daniel's 2 blocks to the South.
