A very odd building. I'm sure this is do to the history of the building. There are 2 entrances the front and back, however the parking lot is in the back. The back entrance starts in a narrow dimly lit hallway that then goes up a dark stairway to another door. Inside is another hallway that leads to the bar area of the restaurant. From here it's confusing because you don't know where to check in. Located here are some high top tables, plus the bar. Halfway into the room in an opening on the right which is another room with booths and regular tables with TV's playing sports. Here the atmosphere is very sports bar. Lastly on the opposite side of the bar area you entered in is another hallway that leads to a video game area and the front entrance. Also on the restaurant side is a door leading to a small outdoor patio area. The menu here is very unique with a great selection of Sandwiches and Hamburgers. I ordered the Pot Belly Pig Sandwich ($15), which is Smoked pork, ham, bacon, american and jack cheese, topped with a bourbon glaze on a pressed ciabatta. I upgraded to Cajun Tater Tots ($2). The sandwich was delicious. It was a great combination of flavors and was very filling. The tots were somewhat spicy and very good. The person I was with ordered The Amish Black & Blue Burger ($14), which is a Blackened burger topped with melted bleu cheese, deep fried onions, fries and homemade bleu dressing. She stated many times how great the burger was. The service was very good with quick and attentive service. Overall an easy 5 star review. Would I return? Yes. It's not close so it'll have to be a special occasion type of thing, but definitely yes. We left through the front entrance and their was a side walk along the side of building leading to the back. This is a great bar and restaurant. It has two sides; one which is more like bar vibes and the other, more like a diner. There is plenty of parking out back and street parking. They have a great menu and I've really enjoyed almost everything I've had to eat here. Not a great place to go if you're on a diet, but they do have some yummy salads. People are more likely to go here for things like loaded tots, burgers, and burritos. Smothered with cheesy goodness, of course. They have cheap drinks, friendly service, and overall good vibes. read more

Packed a Monday evening, nearly every table was full in the restaurant! There was some confusion around where the hostess stand was, and whether we should seat ourselves, but eventually we were seated and our order was taken promptly. The BBQ Burger was delicious, and I appreciated that cajun fries were a side option! It was a good portion size, and the burger was cooked well. The Ruby Red Quesadilla was underwhelming, but as one of the few vegetarian options on the menu, it did its job. A very social restaurant with a bar and pool tables. Visited before and had a lot of burger choices. Went back and the choices have dwindled, coupled with getting nickeled and dimed to death. Everything is alacarte. You want sauce=charge. An extra patty is $4 or $5. Server was good and the patty wasn't cooked rare, as requested, but there was some pink. Better places around. read more

We just relocated (temporarily) to Fremont! I was craving a burger and stumbled upon this place. The atmosphere is what you'd expect for a tavern but I appreciated that it had a non bar seating area. We went in the late afternoon so it wasn't super busy. Our waitress was super nice and patient with us taking our time with the menu. We both ordered a soda but didn't really care for it. I think since the covid/illnesses we've been dealing with our taste buds just aren't the same, yet. We both ordered the burger that has jalapenos & sauteed onions. my sister and I have enjoyed dining on the patio with my small dog a few times. yesterday I went there and first I was told that dogs are not allowed. when I explained that I have been there twice before, I was told that the patio didn't open until 4! My husband and daughter and I enjoyed dinner here on Monday, March 11. The service was excellent, very friendly and efficient! I really liked my Southwestern Taco Salad with grilled chicken! it was very generous in size and quite tasty with corn and black beans in the filling. My husband loved his burger, which was served with grilled cheese sandwiches as the bun!! It came with their fantastic crispy homemade kettle chips. I returned to the Blind Squirrel Tavern this past weekend while in town visiting my parents. I had been here once before and got the Jasadilla Sandwich which was pretty good. I came wanting to try something else on the menu to see if they were indeed THAT good. Spoiler alert - they are. I got the PBB&J Burger, which is a peanut butter, bacon, and grape jelly burger with crumbled potato chips as well. I got mine without jelly and it was delicious. I've had a peanut butter burger once before (somewhere else) but all I could taste was the patty itself. This time, at Blind Squirrel, everything was cooked pretty much to perfection. The bacon was a little burnt/hard, but oh well. Service was great and it seemed to be a pretty popular place for a random Saturday lunch crowd. The first time I went, I didn't even know they had a whole sit-down restaurant side to the building, I thought it was only a couple high-tops at the bar. There's plenty of parking out back as the front only allows for a few street parking spots. The ciabatta bread on any of the sandwiches is so fresh - you'll definitely have to get a sandwich with that advertised. Sooo good! read more

Great little place to stop on the mini color tour I took a week or so ago. They have a great Olive Burger-couldn't eat it all- and cross hatch sweet potato fries that were excellent. Of course, I had to have a T-shirt and the waitress was kind enough to go downstairs and find one for me! Came here at 630 on a Saturday night. Very crowded. Good beer selection. Nice waitress. Took awhile to get the food. My mom had a chicken sandwich that she liked. Comes with chips- pay extra for the fries. Fries are like McDonald's fries but better than the chips. I got the caliburger. Burger was good but guacamole is nothing special. I would order a Swiss burger with pickles and avocado next time. My husband ordered the dip. It came out frozen. They recooked it but we had to wait until everyone else was done with their food before he got his meal. Most restaurants would have comped the sandwich or bought us a drink or something. We got nothing except the opportunity to wait longer. I get that the place was slammed but they could have done something for us. Fun place but not sure I would come again on a Saturday night. Stopped here today while visiting town. Very nice small tavern on Main Street. Lots of parking in the back. Food was decent. My husband got one of the flat breads and said it was good. I got a chicken and avocado sandwich but the chicken breast was very small and thin. The fast was great but wish there was a bit more protein in proportion to the bread. Our friend had a burger and said it was delicious. The place was very clean and the service was fast. I would definitely come again fun a quick bite or for a hole in the wall type of bar outing. For a dive bar in a small town this place is a-ok! Fried cheese curds were the star of my experience. The grilled cheese burger (2 grilled cheese sandwiches instead of bread) was interesting but in the end a C- burger. Not bad but could have been so much more... Which is how I would categorize the whole experience. Happy I went but wouldn't go out of my way to return (Which I most certainly would have to do). Service was super friendly. The other day, we decided to go to dinner and wanted to eat inside a restaurant. We chose the blind squirrel. Just the name alone makes you wonder if it will be a squirrley experience? There was five of us. We all ordered something different. i ordered a mushroom swiss burger, medium well with side order of onion rings. Didn't take them long, the drinks came and the food was out. Our waitress was great in handling us and gave us a fine service. The burger was great, and the fried onion rings I recommend. Great local tavern. The menu has lots of variety and the food is really good. We had 4 people in the group, we all tried something different and it was all really good. Some of the eclectic tasty options were a blackened burger with blue cheese, pulled pork with ham, bacon, melted cheese on a flattened ciabatta bread, fried pickle burger and of course the squirrel burger (2 patty's, 1/2 pound of bacon and 4 slices of cheese). Fries were better than the homemade chips. Chips did not have a lot of seasoning on them. Looking back I should have got some squirrel sauce to dip the chips in. Burger and chips were in the $10 to $14 range. We'll be back! read more
