Picked a random place for date night and it was Angelo's! I am thoroughly impressed and pleased, as a newbie to Madison, I have been searching for some good food. Everything was fresh, cooked when ordered, promptly and perfectly. Service was great. She seemed a tad hasty but I think that was due to short staffed that night. The bread was to die for. Those fried Mac n cheese bites? Bury me with them. Please. If I had to complain, it would be the bathroom. Even then, it's not much. Single bathroom. Just very simple. Ambiance is adorable. My husband and I had a late lunch here today where we ordered a small falcon and a small cougar. Each is 6 small pieces so it's a good idea to do it this way and then you can try two different pizzas. The Falcon comes with a ton of cheese- crawfish, Alfredo sauce, feta cheese, shrimp, artichoke, and Roma tomatoes. The Cougar had chicken, pepperoni, Italian sausage,bacon, and Canadian bacon. We have eaten there several times but this time it "felt" off. The place next door was packed but Angelo's itself was not. So much so that it didn't look open. We were seated fairly quickly and soon after the waitress took our drink order which came pretty quickly. Then we waited. After waiting 25 to 30 minutes I decided to cut our losses. Always loved Angelos BUT the last two visits the quality of food was disappointing. - The last time there the ribs tasted as if they were day old. The fries were soggy and the green beans were straight out of a can- no seasoning. It appears the mudbug part of the business is getting all the staff's attention. I just got off a flight from California and I was starving. My cousin suggested this place and mentioned the Chicken Alfredo is really good. So that's what I ordered with extra sauce on the side. Their Chicken Alfredo they use Angel Hair Pasta and added mushrooms and it was delicious. I like the Angel Hair Pasta instead of Fettuccine Noodles. I'll try the lasagna the next time in the area. That's what my cousin had he devoured it before I could even get a taste LOL read more

Came here for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. It's a mix of blue collars and professionals. The food is great as well as the atmosphere. I loved the shrimp scampi. If it only had real Parmesan cheese as opposed to Kraft Parmesan then it would have been a home run. The Fried chicken was over cooked but the green beans were delicious. Excellent food, extensive menu, swift service, great atmosphere, decent prices. Large portions too. Not much I can say that hasn't already been posted. Had the Goodfellow sandwich for lunch (think Italian sandwich). Very good/large. If you haven't tried this place you're missing out. Parking can be a little sketchy (gravel/grass sometimes) but plenty of tables inside. I'll be back, often. read more

Great food. Quick. Not pricey. I had the Sopranos grilled chicken sandwich. Grilled chicken is almost always not that great to me, but I decided to be a little healthier today. Turned out to be a huge sandwich that had by far the best grilled chicken I've ever had. Big thumbs up read more

Never consistent with their dishes. Always order the same pizza. The first few times it was hot fresh and exactly what I ordered. It went down hill from there. Never the same not hot and not what I ordered. After this happened 5-6 times decided to try some spaghetti and meatballs. It was horrible. Not fresh and not enough sauce. This was all take out. The spaghetti was nothing like what we had when we dined inside the restaurant. After 7 months of the inconsistency we're done! read more

Honestly, it's not quite Italian. I'd rather consider this place as "Italianized country kitchen". I love the daily lunch which they serve very good chicken and meatloaf! I had spaghetti with meat balls that reminded me of my home town(NYC). I'd say I'm a regular customer here and I enjoy their food. See you this afternoon!! read more

Disclaimer - we didn't stay long enough to order entrees. We were excited to try the new location. We tried to love it. Prices were out of whack. Oh, and a bug in the Parmesan cheese shaker finalized our decision to leave. They need some work. I don't think they're going to make it. read more
