We had door dash and food was good. It was still hot when it arrived. We have always had the plates before so this time we tried something new

Wow!!! A true hidden gem in plain sight, from the moment you walk in you step back in time into a truly old-fashioned diner. From the food to the service to the immaculately clean but worn dining room every part of this experience was awesome. If it's been a long time since I have been treated this well coming into a restaurant, you can tell by the way their customers treat them back that they have a love for what they do, as I was seated eating multiple tables of people came in and all of them came and gave them a hug and had a conversation with the staff, this is just something you don't get to see too often anymore, I am grateful to have found this restaurant and even more grateful that it's only blocks away from my house, more updates to come as I try different things on the menu, but their eggs, bacon and biscuit were prepared to perfection.

I was passing by killing time and wanted to find a nice place to get breakfast, and this place popped out and looked like a nice hole in the wall -- AND WAS! The layout is very homey, and the service is very friendly, and I felt like I was speaking with family. The vibe was very nice, and the food wasn't Michelin-star level, but THAT'S OKAY -- it was even better!! I got the chicken fried steak and a side of biscuits and gravy, and it tasted like a nice home-cooked meal and was delicious. The coffee tasted like the perfect blend of burnt dirt and coffee, and I loved it. The prices on the menu seemed inaccurate because, based on what I got and how huge the portions were, I should've spent around $18-$20, but once I got the bill, it was only $14!! After speaking with the lady about what I wanted in the beginning, it appeared she adjusted the price and overall order to adapt to what I was looking for and discounted the overall price as such. Total spent was $24 because I just HADD to tip the wonderful waitress for immaculate service and making me feel at home in an area of town I have never been to. Wonderful hole-in-the-wall family-owned establishment, and I can't wait until I can come eat here again and speak with the wonderful staff!! If you haven't been here yet, I highly recommend stopping by and saying hello at the least -- and maybe stay for a wonderful meal.

Our first time trying this restaurant. I placed my order over the phone and person that answered sound annoyed when I told her my name it sounded like she couldn't believe that was my name. When we picked up or ordered I see why the lady sounded annoyed there was only 2 waitresses and it looked busy. The place looks old, we waited for our food because it wasn't ready. We order 4 orders of French toasts when getting home I opened my box and my toast looked over cooked and had a lot of cinnamon. Eggs were ok sausage were alright.

Angie's kitchen is a local south comfort sensation and their clientele are all pretty much regulars. I have been here a couple of times and enjoyed the food. This time around, I went and ordered a Chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes n gravy and okra. The chicken was a nice sized breast and very tasty. I really enjoyed the mashed potatoes and the gravy that came with it. As I was eating my meal, one of the workers came to my table and gave me a dinner roll. The okra was very good too. It was fried. There are daily specials that are available along with other items that can be ordered also. The place is fairly economical and it is a nice little café. I believe they are open till 2pm daily, but you can double check by calling them directly.

Old school breakfast/ lunch cafe. Always clean and welcoming. The breakfast sandwich is was good, just seemed a tad but small. You can order ahead. They offer cold and hot items. The breakfast sandwich can come alone with or with grits.

Karbach Brewing was one of these breweries that were on this lengthy but steadily diminishing brewery list of mine. The beer that we had was a Kölsch beer by the name of Love Street. The flavor features to enjoy with this kölsch is a naturally sweet flavor along with a clean presence as well as a finish. The beer gives a slight warming feeling and is smooth in body. It's also very light bodied so not out of the realm of possibility of having more than one while hanging out. A very solid beer overall.

I wanted a pork chop or steak and saw this place and their pork chop. It looked great online. When I get there I ate at the bar. It was a coffee bar. Again- I should have done more research. So I was given a menu then I ordered the pork shop. And then the waiter said is that I and proceeded to give me my total. Another thing I have researched. It's counter service. Then I said I just wanted water. I waited for it and he said we have to help ourselves to drinks (later). So ok. Fine. Then later he told me they were out of pork chops. So I got the short ribs with the grits. The ribs were tender. They were tasty. The grits were good. The veg was good as well. I'd give the food a 4 but I would think, since they make their own pastries, they would make a bread to serve with dinner! But no bread so that drops it down a point or 2. I had ordered (pre-paid) for the bread pudding. It was good, legit bread pudding. The place itself is a coffee bar so it looks and acts like a coffee bar. Now to the coffee bar. Someone there ordered and espresso drink. They don't have a knock box and so he proceeded to knock out the very old puck into a trash can under the sink then rinsed it. Then the shot glass looked like it had been there unrinsed from the morning. Then as he proceeded to make the espresso- he had to fill the espresso machine (with tap water). Last- it was Aerosmith on repeat. I like them as much as the next guy, but how about some variety. I guess if I lived in the area I might go back to try their breakfast. Anyway- I ubered there and I wish now I would have just eaten at the hotel bar.

Millie's is a popular neighborhood seafood restaurant in Houston's Oak Forest area, known for Southern and coastal-inspired dishes, craft cocktails, and being genuinely family-friendly. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, including patios and a dedicated play area for kids, which already sets them apart. They have private parking spots out front and a large outdoor patio facing the street. We walked in without a reservation and were seated right away. They brought out a high-chair for our son immediately. Inside, the restaurant was busy, but it was a colder morning so the front patio wasn't being used much. They also have a separate backyard patio with a turfed, enclosed area where kids can safely play, which is a huge plus for families. We ordered from the brunch menu. [BRUNCH] +Lobster Roll for $38 - Maine lobster poached in butter, served in a brioche-style lobster bun with fries. My wife ordered this with fries, and I ordered the same dish with a Caesar salad. This lobster roll was excellent. They served the lobster folded into thick Texas toast and brought extra butter on the side. Easily one of the best lobster rolls I've had. It's definitely pricey, but absolutely worth it as an occasional splurge. The fries and salad were good, but the lobster roll completely stole the show. - 5/5 [KID'S MENU] +Basket of Fried Shrimp for $7 - Served with fries or fruit. My son didn't eat much of the shrimp, but I thought it was solid. He ate all the fruit. He had already eaten at home, so hunger may have been a factor. For the price, this was perfectly fine. - 4/5 Overall, Millie's Kitchen & Cocktails really impressed me. The lobster roll alone is worth returning for, and now that I've seen how seafood-forward the menu is, I'm excited to try more dishes on future visits. Add in the family-friendly setup, outdoor play space, and smooth service, and this is a place I'll gladly come back to for brunch (and more)!

Because we had a fairly large party, we called ahead to either reserve a table or at least give the restaurant a heads-up that we would be coming. The person who answered the phone (I believe her name was Jessica) repeatedly hung up on us and told us that a reservation wasn't necessary. When we arrived, we were informed that the restaurant was fully booked and that the wait would be about 45 minutes. There was quite a bit of back-and-forth with the host staff, and while I'm not sure if they were new, their demeanor and handling of the situation did not leave a good first impression. Having worked in restaurants myself, I understand how hectic things can get during busy hours. However, the front-of-house staff seemed disorganized and largely indifferent to the situation. We asked if we could be seated outside, where the majority of the tables appeared to be available, and were told the wait would be about 15 minutes, which was completely reasonable if they needed some time to prepare. Thankfully, our servers went above and beyond and somehow managed to work some magic to get us seated inside. Their professionalism, attentiveness, and willingness to help turned what started as a frustrating experience into a much better one. They were the highlight of our visit (along with the food and drinks)
