I arrived with an absolute emergency of a mess, a cut off all your hair, how did I get here, MESS. Major chemical/product damage, it was not viable. I was fully resigned to a short bob for a complete restart, but she was able to use her skill to come up with what she called a "custom haircut" and that's exactly what it was. Where the texture was once straw/sandpaper, is now silk. I cannot recommend Susan enough! If she can make sunshine come out of THIS experience, I can only imagine what she is capable of working with other clients. I took a chance, and it reset my relationship with hair salons entirely. I trust stylists again. In fact, I now tend to measure other salons by whether they carry the same product lines Cooper Alley does -- the best in the world. Rick Cooper, the founder, is an artist in the truest sense. His influence extends far beyond this salon; through his training, there are now dozens of trusted salons across Marin and the Bay Area -- a quiet but significant legacy. She was very accommodating and we scheduled one for a few hours after my call. I came in a little before my appointment and there was no wait. Dilsa was very personable and sweet, all while giving me a fresh cut. I'm very particular about my hair, and she made sure it was to my liking. As for styling, I'm usually not a fan of salon styling, only to go home and fix it. Dilsa gave me some beautiful curls that lasted all day. The price was reasonable and overall my experience was wonderful.
