I was shopping for a while, when I noticed none of the employees were wearing masks. I was about to buy a Shimano Zodias rod, some Plano boxes, and some spinnerbaits. I asked an employee why they don't wear masks during the pandemic, he said it's something they choose not to do. That they will not be forced to wear them by anyone. It's a store policy not to wear them. I declined on my purchases, and decided I will never shop there again. It's so callous of an attitude to have in a retail store. I really liked this store. I like to support smaller businesses and avoid big box stores if I can. Before the whole COVID-19 pandemic, the staff was super helpful and I spent a good amount of money there. Now during COVID-19, none of the employees are wearing masks. Clearly violating local ordinance and violating my safety. They didn't even wear a mask when a dad and their kid were buying minnows. Both the dad and kid were wearing a mask but the employee handling the bucket wasn't. I can't in good conscious support a business that doesn't care about my safety or the safety of their customers. Anglers International has all your needs for fishing! They have some hard to find baits/lures and are very informational for any type of fishing you plan on doing. They stock my personal favorite in Shimano products and have many others like Daiwa and Lews. Cannot beat the selection or helpfulness. read more

I don't fish but my kids do. We dropped by Anglers so my kids could buy some bait (with their own money) on the way to their grandfathers's house (the family fish master). When we arrived my oldest son couldn't find his wallet. It had his entire savings of $70 in it (he is saving up for a fancy fishing rod). He was in tears, devastated. As a last resort I called the store off chance they found it there, and sure enough they did. I picked it up and it still had all the money in it! I was shocked. Very honest folks. My son is a lifetime customer now and I'm sure that's where he'll be buying the new rod he's saving up for. Thank's Anglers! You made my son's day and helped restore my faith in humanity. read more

Unfortunately, no employees or even the manager/owner wear masks per state mandated order. Their lack of social responsibility is disgusting. The kids that work their should have better role models in their lives. I will gladly drive further to purchase minnows elsewhere. Great place, lots of good stuff, good prices and priceless knowledge. As far as current stock, every angler who actually fishes knows every tackle store is running lean on stock currently. Whether it's huge outfits like Cabelas (yuck) or smaller independent shops like here (yay). There has been a huge upsurge in fishing as well as every outdoor sports. Too bad the one star reviewers were too butthurt about a political issue to actually comment on the great selection (during normal times) and service. read more

Absolutley amazing place. Staff are extremely knowledgeable in regards to all local fishing species & techniques. Casey the store manager is a great guy with several decades of both fishing and fishing-retail knowledge. His employee Alex helped me select the perfect skipping rod for my needed application. The stores also one of the few places you can still find tackle and rods in stock as the pandemic has caused the big box retailers to run dry. The actual location is decently sized and there is little risk of being within 6ft of someone as such masks are not a necessity unless you choose to. A few reviews crying about the lack of mask enforcement is comical to say the least. By far the best fishing / Tackle store in the northwest suburbs. Staff is extremely helpful in answering my questions as I continue to learn how to fish different techniques. Most recently I wanted to understand why I couldn't catch fish using a dropshot...they walked me through different setups in tackle, better pole options, and even specific places to use a drop shot in a SE Wisconsin lake...I caught 6 largemount bass including my first smallmouth bass with their suggestions a few days ago on the drop shot. Best shop in Chicagoland. Way more than just a bait shop, it's a tackle store that carries products that generic big box outdoor stores won't ever have. Casey and Al are always super helpful and will order anything you want at a fair price. I haven't purchased a rod or reel anywhere else since I found Anglers International Resources. Nice store, great personnel. All were very helpful and especially knowledgeable. I did not have to google anything while I was there, the sales guys were ready to explain me and guide me around. They certainly should offer training sessions for wannabe fishermen and as I saw them talking to other customers, they are able to offer valuable advice for experienced fishermen too. They were able to recommend me good spots for fishing as well as the proper gear for the season. I was actually sorry I did not have more time to stay. Large assortment of lures, loved the ones for musky , will definitely use some this summer in Wisconsin. Looking around the store, besides the fishing equipment they have all kind of outdoor equipment you could use for fishing trips and not only. Prices are decent, they have equipment for all categories including some very high tech rods, I think from Europe, really light, I did not see them in other places. The kids had fun too seeing the nice aquarium in the front and the sales person feeding the fishes. I learned they have an online store too fishingurus.com, pretty cool as I see, I prefer though to go to the store, especially when I am not sure what I should buy. I definitely plan to go back to the store this summer, before I will go up in Wisconsin, I am sure they will be able to get the full supply for the trip, plus most probably some advices. Angler's International Resource is the only shop for serious anglers in the western suburbs. Casey T. is a stand up guy and his passion for fishing is evident, as he helps everyone that comes in the shop with friendly and professional knowledge for novice and experts alike. He carries all the standard gear for all species pursued in the Midwest, even an excellent carp line up of bait and gear ( not for me, but to each his own). What really separates this shop besides friendly and knowledge is Casey makes a real effort to get to many of the outdoor shows including the Superbowl of fishing which is the ICAST show. This keeps him informed about the innovations happening in the industry and you will find many things at this shop that are not carried anywhere else. AIR does a nice job with promoting the business with Free bait Fridays and Mono Mondays, which why on any given day you go by, Casey is always there ( think he takes 1 day off a week to fish). I use to be a big Bass Pro and Cabelas guy until I found this shop a few years ago. You might pay a little more for small items as he is a small business, but buy a rod and reel or spend a little money and he is competitive and always takes good care of me.
