I ordered a bike online and it was supposed to be built and ready for pick-up in the early…read moreafternoon. When I got to the store, however, the bike was still in the box, and we were initially told that the associate responsible for building the bike was not at work yet, and the bike would not be ready until after 7:00 that night. Having traveled from Grayslake, I was a little irritated that they didn't have it ready when they said they would. Initially their solution was to ship the bike to the Gurnee store for pick up at a later date. Without going into more boring details, the store ended up offering a different, more expensive bike, that was already built. They honored the original bike's price, which was a few hundred dollars less than the bike we received. They also threw in a kickstand at no charge. What started out as a poor situation ended very well, and I commend the manager and associate (unfortunately, I don't have their names) who worked to make the situation a have happy ending.

Despite making multiple attempts to cancel almost immediately after placing the order, OpticsPlanet shipped it anyway. The customer service experience made an already frustrating situation significantly worse. I spent over an hour on hold trying to resolve this. When I finally reached a representative, I told her I had been waiting for over an hour. Rather than apologizing for the ridiculous wait, she actually corrected me and said, "It's only been 45 minutes." Seriously? First, I had been on hold for over an hour. Second, even if it had been "only" 45 minutes, that's an absurd response to a customer who has been waiting that long to fix a problem he tried to prevent approximately 10 minutes after placing the order. They ultimately told me the order couldn't be canceled because it had already shipped. They provided a prepaid return label and told me I would receive a refund after they receive the item back. My issue isn't that OpticsPlanet won't accept the return. My issue is that I tried to cancel this order almost immediately through three separate channels, and their process still couldn't stop the shipment. Now I have to receive an item I didn't want shipped, return it, wait for them to receive it, and then wait for my money to be refunded. A cancellation submitted approximately 10 minutes after an order is placed should not turn into this kind of ordeal. Add an hour-plus customer service hold and a representative arguing with me about how long I'd been waiting instead of acknowledging the problem, and this was easily one of the worst online retail experiences I've had. I won't purchase from OpticsPlanet again.

When i first walked in to the shop i was very impressed. I was greeted by a large fish tank with some panfish in it and a couple guys behind the counter saying hello. I continued on my quest for what i needed for the day. Soon after one of the guys politely asked me if i was finding everything alright, so i asked him a few questions to test his skills. Boy that back fired! He actually showed me up with out even knowing it! His answer was actually better than mine and he taught me a thing a or two in the process. This was actually a couple of years ago and now when I walk in the guys don't just say hello anymore they say," Hi Jim!" We are literally on a first name basis now. Time and time again, through the years they have never failed me. They always give me up to date information and between Casey, Al or Gregg answer any question that i have. When it comes to the selection of lures, hands down, they have the best! All the latest tackle from major manufacturers, hard to find lures and new tackle from over seas that you never seen before. If your looking for the old tried and true they have those too! If your looking for a tackle store where you pay a good price for great tackle with exceptional service than you need to shop at A.I.R! 1. No masks are worn in this store during a pandemic and mandated mask order. 2. The joke of a manager has a problem with people following laws about not parking in front of the store but has no problem following laws about wearing a mask to protect himself, underage kids that work there or the customers that shop there 3. I know nothing about fishing. Looked for a place to buy my husband a nice birthday gift and I came across this store. I talked to a very nice gent Al and I described him in general terms what my husband is doing. Al recommended a few items ranging in price but still in my budget. Marc has always had a high sense of self-value while Eddie is very down to earth yet knows more about guns - of all types - than anyone I have run into. If you have a firearm that doesn't work (and a FOID card - Eddie is strict about the law, even the useless version in Cook County), bring it here. Or come around to chat with other gun guys, whether you are an old pro or a newbie. All are welcome. OTOH Amazon buyers like Bo Jangles will probably be happier going to Maxon or Cabelas, where you can buy a gun and not be "bothered" by people who love them.

Good luck trying to get that service with Rainbow. They should probably have four stars because of the extra holes in the beams, however, standing behind their product and warranty and being easy to work with really made a positive difference.
