I stopped by Maxon's as they had the 3 handguns in stock that I've been considering. While I did not purchase anything, Luis was extremely helpful, and knew his stuff. He was super friendly and patient with me as well. I really appreciated his relaxed, friendly attitude. Something you don't find too often in this scene. Their prices are a little high, but I think the employees make it worth it. I'll be back to use their range, and post an update if there are any issues. Minus 1 star for the price of their CC qualification target. $3. Ouch. The other range I go to in East Dundee sells them for ¢75.

The followup from the owner stinks. Took the class four weeks ago and i still have no documentation that i took and passed the class. My friend also took the class and has called numerous times about the paperwork and was promised that it is in the mail. Well that was a week ago and still nothing. I will take another class if I know that i will have the same instructors, but i will not need paperwork for these classes.

I highly recommend this business. Chris is an excellent instructor. He knows the laws, answers the questions and encourages students to reach out after the class with questions or how to navigate the online registration for CCL. Chris is very nice and has a nice sense of humor. Went to the range to qualify and I was very nervous as it has been a while since I went shooting. Chris helped me throughout the whole shooting process, giving me instructions and tips on how to load, check, stand, etc. Absolutely go to HBT. Worth it.
