This place was packed when I visited on a Saturday afternoon, indicating its popularity. It's a bar-like establishment that serves food and cocktails. A board displayed in front showcased various events and discounts for each day of the week. The food was generally good, although I was disappointed that the nachos were served cold despite their flavorful taste. Fast service that was good at water refills.

Very good experience this evening. Spacious seating with full bar, high tops, booths, and traditional tables. Service was friendly and on task. Local drafts in addition to other beers. Enjoyed the wheat and blonde beers. Full bar. Good flavor for the beers. The pretzel appetizer was very good. Socially dip was excellent. I enjoyed my burger. Perfectly cooked with good flavor and fresh toppings. Wings were very good. Pizza was ok. Live band starting as we left. A must stop.

Visiting family in Mt Airy we needed a venue that could comfortably fit all 10 of us and please all the pallets. Angry Troll was the perfect place!!! We had an amazing server who kept up with all our orders and drinks and there definitely was plenty of seating for all size groups. The food came out hot and delicious!! We had beers in cans and on tap that everyone enjoyed, and we had two appetizers to share and there was plenty to go around. Main entrees came out, and again they were hot and all at once which was great for a big party. I highly recommend you stopping by and trying them out!!

Great Vibe, Friendly Service, Room to Improve on the Food I stopped in here with family for lunch while visiting downtown Mount Airy. Angry Troll Brewing has a really cool vibe -- it's got that laid-back, welcoming feel that makes you want to hang out for a while. We were greeted with a warm welcome and seated quickly. Our server was attentive, super friendly, and made us feel right at home. I ordered the fish and chips, and while the portion size was okay, the fish itself was a little bland. The fries were the real surprise -- so salty it was like I asked for an extra dose of sodium (I didn't ). Not sure what was going on in the kitchen that day, but they definitely went heavy on the salt. That said, I've heard this is a great spot for day drinking and chilling out, and I'd be open to giving it another shot. Maybe the fish and chips were just having an off day. I'd come back next time I'm in town to try something else on the menu and maybe sample the beer selection a bit more.

Nice place. Lots of room. The staff was friendly. The food came out fairly quick. I had the triple threat pizza. It was delicious. It filled me up but thankful that it didn't make me feel bloated. I cant wait to come back to try something else.

We were seated at the bar with no other customers and service took a while. The restaurant has a cleanliness rating as of June 2025 of 95.5%. The food (Mac and cheese pizza) was good and the beer is reasonable. Cocktails are a bit on the pricier side, though.

We recently visited the newly rebranded Angry Troll Brewing Company in Mount Airy for lunch, and I have to say, it was an excellent experience. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the ample seating and welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant has a unique vibe that feels like a cross between a sports pub and American dining -- a great spot for those looking for a relaxed place with plenty of food options and a friendly environment. Despite arriving during lunchtime on a Saturday, we were seated promptly, and our server, Mandy, provided outstanding service throughout the meal. She was friendly, attentive, and offered great suggestions, especially since it was my first visit since the rebranding. Her hospitality definitely enhanced the overall experience. For starters, I ordered the fried pickles--absolutely delicious--and the spinach artichoke cheese dip served with thin tortilla chips. The dip was flavorful and rich, making it a perfect appetizer. I also tried a cup of Caribou brand coffee, which was brewed perfectly. For my main meal, I chose the "Pub burger", a double burger with cheese, cooked exactly as I requested. I had it without bread, and it came with the classic lettuce, tomato, and onion--though notably, no pickles were included. I think I could've ordered pickles on the side, but I didn't ask. Since this was my only meal of the day, I decided to indulge a bit more than usual, which is why I doubled the burger. We shared the appetizers. The table also had wood fire pizza, which was very tasty, and a generous house salad. We decided to finish with dessert--a three-layer chocolate cake that was decadently rich. It's definitely meant for sharing, as it was quite large and indulgent. One of the highlights of the venue is the numerous TVs scattered throughout, all broadcasting various sports. This makes it an ideal spot for a guys' or gals' night out--perfect for watching a game while enjoying good food and drinks. The bar offers a wide selection of beverages, adding to the lively and social atmosphere. The water quality tested at 26 PPM using a standard water tester, indicating good purity. As for seating, I preferred sitting at the small tables rather than the booth seating, which features bench seats without padding. Some of the booths do offer privacy with higher walls, making them suitable if you want a more intimate setting. Overall, I would rate my experience a 4.75 out of 5. It's a great place for anyone looking for a casual, comfortable spot with a wide variety of tasty food options, a lively sports pub vibe, and friendly service. I definitely plan to return to explore more of their menu and enjoy the welcoming environment with friends.

Extreme wait time for food after ordering (almost 45 minutes). Food came out over cooked and barely warm.

Please do not patronize Creek Bottom Brewing…read more It is not a safe place for women or children. Creek Bottom is at the center of a local controversy involving a young man named William Ayers. In 2023, Ayers was convicted of child rape (carnal knowledge of a child) and abduction. He was released from prison last year, back into our community. Upon his release, Creek Bottom Brewing began employing him to work in the brewery--as a known convicted child sex offender. In February, while working for Creek Bottom, Ayers was arrested AGAIN for ANOTHER sexual assault, strangulation, brandishing a firearm, and abduction by force. It got a little media attention as the "Valentine's Day Rape." Recently added to his list of charges is possession of child porn and sexual abuse of an animal. Where does Creek Bottom come in, beyond offering a job to a known child sex offender? William Ayers' parents are the owners of Creek Bottom. They made the choice to employ him at their brewery, along with their many young women employees and the families who visit the restaurant. Our dollars spent at the brewery unwittingly went directly towards Ayers' paycheck. Many community members feel that Creek Bottom's owners have made horrendous decisions that endanger our community by choosing to have their son employed at the brewery, and by supporting/enabling him in other ways. It is readily apparent that Ayers' parents employ pricey high-powered out-of-town attorneys to defend their son from his charges. (Courtroom interactions between those attorneys and the father of William Ayers reinforce this, with the attorneys pulling Daddy Ayers aside for extended conferencing before making motions.) A couple of days ago, Ayers was offered bail set at $900,000. That means that if his supporters/enablers come up with a $90k bail bond agent fee, or $900k on their own, Ayers will AGAIN be released into our community. All of this is a matter of public record: past convictions, state sex offender registry that showed Ayers working at Creek Bottom until his latest arrest, ownership of Creek Bottom, recent charges, and ongoing court case with private legal defense. All members of our community can and should make their own INFORMED choices here. Sending your money in Creek Bottom's direction could literally help lead to this individual being released into our community once again. Endanger the wealth that is supporting him, and we may be able to make a real difference for community safety. Please don't unwittingly contribute to a William Ayers legal defense fund or to bailing him out to walk among us again. If you see fit, stand by us in this effort.

However, the beer taste is noticeably off. I'm not sure what's affecting the flavor, but it does make me wonder whether the tap lines are being cleaned as regularly as they should be. We've tried them all, the hoppy IPAs, the lighter styles, some ciders and even the dark porters and the issue seems consistent across the board. Five friends who've joined us on different visits have said the same. At this point, I usually just order a margarita instead. Each beer or cider runs about $7, but the space itself is impressive: a large indoor area with plenty of picnic tables, additional seating outside, a dart wall, cornhole, and another beanbag toss game. Sometimes people will dance to the band but the seating is awkwardly close to wear the bands play. There is a restaurant beside Joymongers that will bring your food order to you, menus are placed at the brewery tables and when the bay doors are open, you can catch a truly beautiful sunset.
