This rating is mostly because of their manager Karen staying open just a couple more minutes until I could finish my purchase. It was New Year's Eve and I know everybody wanted to get home but there was so much traffic and I really appreciated her staying open. Just a couple minutes to finish the purchase! Second time in a row the pet washing stations were not operated properly. First time only cold water came out. I gave it ten minutes thinking ok it will take a minute to warm up. No one came around. I have a Malinois rescue who cannot be left alone in a wash station because he's afraid. Finally a guy comes by and tells me 'let it run another 10 minutes' so I'm washing my dog in cold water on a 35 degree day. Then he shows up and says he forgot to turn on the hot water as I was drying my dog. Today I made sure the water was warm and then I see that they have removed the shampoo bottles and I turned on the dispenser and zero shampoo from any of the 4 dispensers. No one around. I was not going to leave my dog, there wasn't any other customers in the store so I yelled out for help. Nothing. So I yelled again louder. Nothing. The third time 4 workers showed up and said they would try to fix it and I told them to just bring me some shampoo because I had already been waiting with a wet dog for ten minutes. They came back with a bottle with 10% shampoo and 90% foam. I rinsed my dog off (no place to put wet towels) and left. I paid $40 and still have 3 washes but will NEVER purchase another thing from this store on S. Cobb in Smyrna, GA 5 minutes from my home. You offer one service and can't even put together a check list so your employees can set up a station properly. read more

The folks at Pet Supplies Plus Smyrna are always friendly, helpful, and don't judge me when my cat is acting like he's being taken to jail. The store's clean, well-stocked, and I can usually find what I need without wandering around like a lost cowboy in the desert. Staff is chill and actually knows their stuff, which is rare these days. Definitely going to be my new pet shop for my little dude! I have lived near this Pet Supplies Plus for two years and have visited the Kroger next door easily 100+ times, but never stopped in until recently...totally my bad! As mentioned, this Pet Supplies Plus is located in the large Kroger shopping center at the Concord Road and South Cobb Drive intersection. It is tucked in the corner of the plaza. Given it's location here, parking is plentiful! The reason I popped in recently was to check out their dog tag machine. The tags are nice and the machine was solid, however the tag prices were a little high and didn't feature the variety I was looking for. After scoping the tags, I decided to wonder around to check things out and see what I could scoop up for my little dude. While this place isn't massive, they have packed a lot in this space! They not only feature the normal things you expect such as all the dog and cat accessories, but they also feature a live animal wall with little furry critters and a live fish tank wall as well. And they even have a dog wash station where you can get your fur-baby groomed. One thing that stood out here was the variety of dog snacks. In the aisle, they featured a small section where you could scoop the treats by the pound, almost like a candy store for your pooch. Then up front, they had a case of dog pastries that were decorated for all occasions...as if getting your pup a special treat needs an occasion! Service was also great here. When I walked in, the gentleman stocking the dog food did not make effort to engage, but everyone I encountered after was super helpful and friendly, especially the cashier. She was beyond kind, sweet, helpful and friendly! Overall, solid spot that I feel doesn't get enough love for all the things they offer! I am glad I finally stopped in. Ok, another small town girl moves to the city experience! Levi and I are big fans of the location off 92 in kennesaw. We found our local dog washing spot for sure! We were able to use the remainder of our dog loyalty wash card from the back home location. Upon entering, we were taken back by the size of this store! Tons of fun treats and fun toys, etc!!! We were walked to the station by the kind worker who also took his time to explain the wash station to us. NEVER HAVE WE HAD THAT! ^clapping Love the friendly staff and cleanliness of the store. Excellent self-serve dog-washing stations!! I foster dogs and use this location after I pick up each (stinky) dog. Two stations in a gated area are provided for customers. The price is reasonable; the water is warm; facility is clean; employees are super helpful; towels and a variety of shampoos provided; and the hair dryer is powerful. I called the store the night before ti confirm that the store sold the brand of food I need. The person was kind and helpful. However I went to the store today and was not even welcomed to the store. An employee was practically standing in front of me when I entered, instead of saying hi - she spoke to another woman in a hushed tone and turned her head. Never acknowledging me or asking if I needed help. I initially ignored it and decided to find the food on my own. I did. Then another employee walks hurriedly past me, practically walking over me. I don't know why either of them acted in that way. But I decided to go elsewhere. Why should I spend my money in a place where the employees don't even say hello or ask if they can help you. This is a new pet store that opened recently located next door to Kroger. The store is very clean and well laid out. I am greeted every time I walk in (today was my 3rd visit). Usually I purchase things for my dog from this location and ppl are usually very helpful . Today there were 2 new employees there . I called before coming because I've seen the dog wash was always busy . I spoke to someone named Lisa' and let her know that I would be trying the self serve dog wash for the first time . When I arrived Lisa was very pushy toward me in purchasing the "dirty dog wash" which is 4 washes and abt $30 more than one wash. I'm happy I didn't because it would've gone to waste . When I refused to buy the additional membership the cashier Lisa sent me to the back with a few towels and I was told to help myself . While I was washing my dog another woman arrived with her dog and randy another employee assisted the woman & dog w/bath he walked her through everything and offered his assistance. I asked Randy why I didn't receive help when I arrived and why didn't I receive instructions being that it was my first time also and was told only those who look like they need help receive help. Not sure if the woman looked like she needed help because she's white and I didn't look like I needed help because I'm black but I truly felt discriminated against. & I think the same thorough customer service that woman received I deserved as well. I hope this review will improve service for other customers of color . Just because black people are excellent and magical doesn't mean we don't deserve someone who's servicing us to do their job to the fullest extent .
