I'm truly saddened to hear you refuse to work with us and come over to our house to let our dogs out to go potty. Without meeting us, or our dogs, you did some "research" and insinuate that our dogs are trained with "aversive techniques" which suggests a training technique inflicting significant physical or emotional discomfort or pain. You could not be more inaccurate in your assessment. We are deeply offended by your insinuation. However, everything happens for a reason and through this process it has become apparent that your company is probably not suitable for us. While you have logo's and accreditations on your website stating force-free professionals, It's unfortunate you are unable to recognize such an environment accurately. From this experience, your arrogance and ignorance shows your lack of specific knowledge of dogs and the different types of training involved with them. We have met so many people in Smyrna because of our dogs, who are both so gentle and have the most pleasant personalities. We get compliments on their disposition and friendliness on a consistent basis. Children get so excited when they see our dogs and will often come running and want to pet them. Some will even ask if they can walk our dogs with us. Again, our dogs are a true joy to be around. It is unfortunate you have chosen not to experience this for yourself. While you made it clear you were not interested in working with us, maybe I could be of assistance and help you. First, I'd recommend some needed education on dogs and the different types of training involved with them. Second, from a customer service perspective, I'd recommend you refrain from accusing people of using "aversive techniques" as a source of training, as you did us. While we are deeply offended from your accusations, as mentioned earlier, everything happens for a reason. We will find somebody who is suitable to work with us and our dogs. We recognize there are a lot of people in this world who lack the knowledge, experience, and confidence to train a dog to be well behaved and obedient without using "aversive techniques." If you do the right research, educate yourself and reach out to the right experts in this area (as I did), you will see that there is a way. It's not easy, it's not convenient, nor is it quick, but there is a way. Let me know if you would like to learn more on these topics. 12/5/2022: The business owner responded to my review (see below) but again missed the mark. They claim they did "research" and are telling me I "train" my dogs with shock collars. This statement is simply not accurate. ‍. My dogs are / were "trained" without a shock collar, using force free techniques, baby steps, praise, love, and repetition. Pet Sit Girls continues to be amazing! I've used them multiple times since my original review back in 2017 and am so happy with them. Since my original review, I've moved and our sitters have changed. It was so easy to schedule an intro visit with the new (and original) sitter and also to visit us in our new home. Communication while away is regular emails with details of their catventure (including daily photos) and the response time is always super fast. If I could leave negative stars, I would. I was anxious about trusting my baby with a pet sitter, but they had good recommendations and seemed to click with my dog, so I booked them. I am still traumatized by how poor my baby's condition was when we got back. She had poop and pee on her feet, smelled bad, was extremely thirsty, had diarrhea, and seemed unusually timid when seeing us again. I also received almost no updates while we were gone, I had to continuously check-in. She was very obviously neglected and left alone for very long periods of time (too long!) I never write bad reviews but I don't want this to happen to anyone else's fur baby!!! read more

I can't say enough good things about Pet Sit Girls. I don't give out five star reviews lightly. I've been using their services since Gwen was part of The Pet Lady (many, many years). They have enabled us to have vacations even when our cats have had long term illnesses and need(ed) medication and/or multiple visits per day. We currently have a 15 year old cat with thyroid disease and he's incredibly picky and skiddish. Gwen and Amy never balk or question my page-long list of instructions on what he is currently eating (or not eating) and what special combination of foods and treats are required. They bring in the mail, take out the trash to the curb and back, change up the lights so it looks like someone is home and water plants when needed. They always leave a detailed list of their visits and what they've observed. I know we have the Pet Sit Girls team to rely on and they are flexible if I need to come home early or extend my time away. Thank you Pet Sit Girls Team!!! Many thanks to Pet Sit Girls for helping us out in a crunch! I called for the first time a few hours before having to leave town overnight for a funeral. They came by met our dog Sammy and were able to check on him and take him for walk while we were gone the next day. The hand written note from Ginger was a nice and thoughtful touch. We have had a rough go lately with dog walkers, I have 2 English bulldogs that can be very dominant and somewhat protective around strangers. Pet Sit girls came and my bulldogs fell in love!! They were rolling and playing on the floor like they had known them for years. I think we have found a great fit!! So much we have already booked our first overnight stay. read more

For purposes of full disclosure, I should first inform you that the owner of Pet Sit Girls, Gwen Holt, is my Sister-in-Law. Having said that, I have the honor of being one of the first, if not the first, clients of Gwen's in her role as a professional pet sitter. For many years, when traveling for pleasure or for business, she would look after my best friend, Barkley. I can honestly say that Barkley was probably better cared for by Gwen than he was by me, and I loved him more than anything! Even in Barkley's last years when he had numerous health issues, I could always count on her to take special care of him in my absence. She definitely would go above and beyond in making sure he was comfortable and happy, even making periodic visits during the day while I was at work but still in town. Barkley never received any special treatment just because we are related and I promise you that she would look after your pets with exactly the same amount of love and compassion that Barkley received.
