Customer service is horrible and they charge you for service they don't even do. They take advantage of you and will not care

If I could leave a negative review I absolutely would. I'm not one to ruin someomes business but when my dogs safety is in jeopardy, I feel like I should warn others. I was in a huge rush flying out the following day and left my puppy at the salon regardless of the immediate gut feeling that I shouldn't. The place is run down, terrifying metal cages where they hold some dogs, dirty environment on general. After picking up my dog from Nancy I was SHOCKED by how BRUTAL the job was. I was furious, there were up to 1-2" differences in hair length right next to each other -- how do you not see that?! The photos that I will attach do not even show how bad the job is. People in my building were asking what happen to my dog. How embarrassing. So I texted her and regardless of all the errands I had to run I had to take him back to at LEAST even out the hair. I walked in with my dog and went to the back watching her cut his hair. I was terrified. 1) she was VERY roughly pulling his hair with a sharp brush in front of me. So I can only imagine how she treats dogs behind owners backs 2) she allowed about 6 dogs to RUN AROUND & JUMP on her while holding sharp scissors at my dog & POINTED AT HIM AT HIS FACE I WAS SHOCKED meanwhile the dogs were trying to play with mine on the table making him move around as well. I couldn't believe what I was witnessing and considered acceptable. Worst part... I had to show her where to fix the hair where it was beyond visible and she still managed to make it worse than when I came in. Do not take your dog here unless you want to put your dogs safety in jeopardy and just like how some previous review said... have your dog look like it was cut by a toddler holding scissors. read more

We were eating at The Outcast Grill a few doors down from this groomer when a small, white Maltese or poodle-ish dog wandered into the restaurant. Fortunately, the food servers at Outcast are kindly and carried the dog back to the groomers. Whomever owns Bella should be pretty upset though. WOW - Not Recommended! My Lhasa looks like a 3rd grader got a hold of the clippers. I am not exaggerating! My Lhasa has long hair (to the ground) and I asked for his belly and legs to be clipped to help make daily grooming easier. He came back TOTALLY LOP SIDED. On the right hind leg he was shaved up beyond the knee, on the left - to the ankle. On his front legs he had hair under one arm pit but not the other and there were tufts of unclipped areas that should have been shaven. I wish I could post pictures! The line on his chest, where they shaved him, was diagonal. Nancy indicated that my dog was wiggly - well when I brush him he lays on his side quietly until I'm done .25-.75 hours. I could see how he might not do the same for her but you're a "professional groomer" aren't you accustomed to that? It takes about 2 years to grow hair to the ground so you can imagine how upset I am. Thank God the length of the top of his hair, helps to cover the botched job. read more

I think I was just spoiled by Lindsay at Spawtlight. I took two dogs there - Boyfriend's husky (Denali) and my little Dachshund-Chihuahua rescue (Nico). Denali is a good-natured dog and gets along with everybody and every situation. Nico, on the other hand, has a bit of stranger anxiety with people. He doesn't bark or bite or be aggressive in any way, but he does quiver in fear (it's his Chihuahua side). However, he has no problem interacting with people/dogs in dog-friendly environments such as pet stores, dog parks, groomers, etc. He warms up as soon as he steps foot in the door. Now, with this said - I took Denali to get groomed and Nico to get his nails trimmed. The woman - I'm assuming was Nancy - who was trimming Nico's nails was NOT friendly or warm towards Nico. She didn't warm him up to the strange, big equipment (the table + nail file machine) and she certainly did not give him a little bit of time to adjust. She literally plopped him on the counter, forced his paw forward towards her, and proceeded to just file them away. Yes, she got the job done in 5 minutes, but my dog is now absolutely fearful of handing over his paw for extended periods of time. He didn't mind that I touched his paw, held his paw for a while, or did anything really to his paw, but after taking him to Animal Attraction, he refuses to let me hold his paw for more than a second. Denali's groom - got the job done. Traces of dirt on her hind legs, on her face (but face is more forgivable b/c it's a delicate area). Lindsay at Spawtlight did so much better for the same price. Never coming back here again. read more

We have been taking our toy-poodle here for years and since her hair grows super fast I always ask for different looks. I will ask for "traditional poodle" with pom-poms around her ankles and a fuzzy head and chest. And when it is really hot they will shave her down. I started taking my newest addition (malti-poo) when she was 2 months old and now she she is 5 months old and has gone 4 times. Each time she comes home whiter than ever. Our kitty got a haircut and a bath yesterday. I'm very happy with it; they clipped her nails and cleaned out her ears too. She feels so soft and clean. We asked for a lion cut, and they did a fabulous job. The cat is now much more hygienic (and hilarious looking). Staff were very courteous and friendly. This little gem of a grooming and bathing shop for animals is a true find. I switched from using chains like dirty dogs because this place has very reasonable prices, you can get an appointment without booking weeks in advance, they do great work and are so friendly. I've brought my two dogs and cat there for the past several months. Today My largest dog was in a big mess and desperately in need of a groom. I called several groomers in the area (including one I had been going to for several years) and nobody could make room for my dog. Nancy at Animal Attraction took Rufus in at the last minute, did an amazing job and charged a reasonable price. I even forgot they only take cash or check and she let me take my dog home and told me to come back and pay her tomorrow! That is a rare kindness and I greatly appreciated it. Animal Attraction has always been a little hard to find (buried in a strip mall on Governor), but it is more than worth the effort. Rich and Nancy do a supreme job making my dog look wonderful every visit, and not just that, they have hearts of gold. My dog was a pound puppy, so she is terrified of cages and has a continuous, horribly annoying high pitched yelp anytime she is in a cage. Rich and Nancy know that, but they continue to let her come, and always greet us and her with a smile. They often give our dog a toy for Christmas, and they're always reliable as to their estimate for when our dog will be ready (and usually early, as they want to get her, and her yelping, out the door, haha). read more

I had previously written a review regarding this place several years back. I took my dog here for grooming after several recommendations from neighbors who would take their dogs here. Sadly, when I picked up my dog, the top of one of his eyes was bleeding (likely from the scissors). When I got home his eye kept bleeding, so I went back and showed the groomer and she told me she had not noticed (my dog's face is white and light brown, the blood was very noticeable​). I felt awful for putting my fur baby under the care of someone so careless and irresponsible. The appropriate response is to acknowledge it and apologize at the very least. First and last time I took him here and I was sure to let my neighbors know about this, so they don't keep recommending it. Pets make sudden moves; Injuries happen at times, but it was how it was handled that left me very disappointed. Even more disappointing​ is that the review was deleted! Well, here it is again. I have some of the worst behaved dogs a groomer could ask for and never once has Nancy said anything! She is always so gentle and kind and our dogs look AMAZING each and everytime! This spot has become my #1 place to take Skippy, my yorkshire terrier! Nancy does a great job with the cuts, and I realize this may sound unusual but it's so convenient that they also do the gland expression (which in and of itself can cost up to $20 at Petsmart). Setting up appointments is a little different in the sense that you call and set it up by leaving a voicemail and you assume you have the slot unless notified otherwise, but I have not yet had any problems to date. :) read more

First time having a dog that required grooming (unexpected to say the least)! Took my Layla Love across the street to Animal Attraction to try and see if they could fit her in late in the day. After a little coercion Nancy, the groomer, agreed to shave Layla like a lion with a mohawk as I requested! Oh what a treat! I'm hoping she calls it the Layla cut! We will definitely be back. She had her done in less than a half hour for just the cut! read more

These people are generally nice. They treat my dog really well. Sometimes my dog will get nicked but he is really squirmy and has these long skinny legs that can get in the way. I am sure they sneak treats to my dog because my dog is a stinker and there is no way he is going to sit that still. He always comes out looking so cute, complete with a bow and all! I don't know which shampoo they use but he ends up soft and he smells great for a long time. He actually jumps into a the car when I ask if he wants a haircut! read more

I will never step foot in this place again! I have not ever been treated so rudely. Unprofessional is an understatement. The lady basically threw a temper tantrum in front of me, my daughter, and another customer. We like a longer cut on our poodle and brush him out as often as possible. I had brushed him out 2 days prior to this incident and knew he was matting around his collar area. She described his fur as a nightmare, said we should shave him down to his skin, and would not see him at all. I immediately took him elsewhere where it apparently was no big deal. I have been coming here since 2010 and the owners have been great. They are the same people and know everything about your dogs. They listen to your requests and the grooming is finished within a reasonable amount of time. I've been taking my animals (dogs) to Animal Attraction for over 22 years. That's 5 different dogs, not including our current one (Posey). Most of them have been poodles and she has done a terrific job. She was recommended with our first rescue (Eddie) as he was very fearful of everything and had to be muzzled. Over the years Eddie warmed up and she felt he would be fine without the muzzle. I have not met a groomer who works with you on your dogs needs. We had one toy poodle (Buffy) who had an immune problem, I asked that she be done immediately upon bringing her in (made the appointment a head of time to arrange this), she was more than happy to do this for the next 4 years for her. I would definitely recommend her to anyone who needs their dogs groomed (she does cats too). It very convenient and easy to make an appointment and it usually takes about 2 hours depending on the dog. Not open Sunday and Monday. read more
