    One Eyed Jack....ie
    David M.

About six years ago, after putting my Rottie down, I saw a picture of Jackie (aka One Eyed Jack and Missy Moo Moo) online, did the application, drove to Fresno and picked her up. She's been a godsend for my PTSD and goes everywhere with me. Everyone loves this dog and she's a big hit at the pool hall ! I love this girl- She's my life. Thank You Animal Compassion and Joyce. Google "One Eyed Jack McNab youtube" and you'll see her in action.

Unacceptable. This is their response to my emails (a week later) about our adopted dog killing the family cat of 14 years. This message shows me they are not real animal advocates, apparently our cat's life was not enough of a reason for us to feel the dog belonged with a different family. I am so hurt and disgusted with this guilt/shaming type of behavior.

Got our puppy here a year ago & they took such good care of us & our pup at ACT! Bowzer was microchipped, fixed & had latest shots upon adoption. They care so well for their animals & I recommend them to anyone looking to rescue.

Our new puppy! Cattle Mix ~ We are so in love w him!

We just adopted our sweet puppy from Anna from Animal Compassion Team! Our family has been looking for the last 2 months and when we saw him on the adoption site, we fell in love. I emailed ACT and the next day Anna emailed me back and we spoke over the phone. She was extremely informative, kind and patient. We discussed the full process and she helped answered all my questions. If you are lucky to adopt from ACT and Anna is the foster mom, you will be in great hands. She really loves all her foster pups and has been doing this years and you can tell. The whole process was wonderful and now we have a new family member. I know the adoption/rescue process can take a long time and you may get discouraged because the puppy/dog (you want) always seem to get adopted so fast, but please be hopeful and keep trying. Your special dog is waiting for you/your family. ACT was wonderful and I am so glad I was able to adopt from them .

This is our baby Bambi from ACT!

Not that ACT needs reviews cause they obviously are5 star for every comment on here, but they are fantastic.! The employees make sure the animals that are getting adopted actually fit your family before you decide, plus you can do sleepovers with the pets at your home! They also make sure pets are spayed/ neutered, have all shots and microchipped. Very nice people at ACT! I'm always recommending them to people!

Our kitty Roland, he was called McDreamy while at ACT. He is part of our family now!

I met other people who had to surrender pets due to homelessness or lost job. although it's a kill shelter they do their absolute best to provide care in order to get these dogs adopted faster. they encourage people to foster and help these animals find home.

They strictly abide by these rules. I can only comment on the services that I use here. I've received vouchers in the past and gotten animals fixed for $30. If I foster, I will come here and get them assessed, dewormed, vaccinated along with flea and tick preventative. This is free of cost since I'm taking the responsibility of fostering instead of leaving them there at the shelter. They also offer me free food but I decline so it can go to someone who really needs it. Foot traffic varies. I've been here half a day or sometimes it takes no time at all. They make it very clear to people who surrender and drop off that the animal is at risk of euthanasia. They are always at critical capacity so if you are looking for a companion I always encourage to adopt and not shop or alternatively, fill out their foster application as they are always looking for foster ppl to save more animals and all supplies are provided.

I always make my appointments ahead of time by emailing them which is very convenient. My appointment was at 10 AM. once there you sign in and they go in order from when you signed in. I only had to wait for a few minutes before they called my name and I paid in cash. Then a few minutes later, the vet tech came out to my car where my fearful dog was in the back seat. Since she doesn't like other dogs, this is so convenient. But they will only do this if you only need one shot. Plenty of parking in the lot in front of the office.

Their puppy adoption rates are already higher than two other local shelters. CCSPCA, don't complain about full kennels but then charge people ridiculous prices to adopt! I truly hope you rethink your business tactics/practices, for the sake of animals needing good and safe homes. P.S. I debated on posting because ultimately their mission is what I believe in but this experience was deplorable and in my opinion went against their mission/purpose; people want to help, but blatant money grabs like this are disgraceful to witness!

I was told both verbally and in writing that I had seven (7) days to notify the rescue of any medical issues. Within that seven-day period, I notified them in writing that my newly adopted Persian cat developed yellow eye discharge, squinting, and signs concerning for an eye infection, which is not typical Persian tearing. I also notified the rescue of my concerns regarding delayed or limited access to medical treatment, as prompt veterinary care is important to prevent unnecessary suffering. Despite reporting the issue within the stated timeframe, I was informed that no veterinary costs would be covered, and that treatment would require returning the cat to the shelter rather than allowing local veterinary care. Based on the condition that appeared shortly after adoption, I felt misled by being told the cat was in "good health." While I am not saying this was intentional, the information provided did not align with my experience once the cat was home, which was concerning. I share this so future adopters can make informed decisions. Please be cautious, especially when adopting brachycephalic or exotic breeds such as Persians, which are prone to eye and respiratory issues. Clarify in writing what "good health" means and what medical support, if any, is provided after adoption.

The idea of…read moreCat House on the Kings is wonderful, but the product from that idea is very obviously flawed. As you can read from plenty of one star reviews Cat House Kings greatly appreciates free donations, and help from the public to help rescue and rehabilitate cats in need.... however when it comes time to 'adopt' those same cats out to the same public they have no desire to adopt them out or help anyone with the process. What a nightmare to apply Application process is completely online. You cannot meet the cats prior to applying. Don't even try to call and ask. Each 'review' of an application is 3-5 days. If you are denied you have to wait SIX MONTHS to reapply. Sent in an application for a pair of cats, five days passed with no email or callback. So we called. The cats we were attempting to adopt were 'pulled' they never send an application denial or a notification they were no longer adoptable. Said they didn't have to notify us that they were pulled so we inquired about adopting another set of cats because the ones on our application were not available. They said we had to reapply wait a whole 3/5 more days because of their mistake. So, we reapplied. Loving family, pet friendly residence, indoor only cats, no time spent alone, and a great income. And very surprisingly we were denied. Denied and cannot reapply for SIX months. No reasoning or explanation. Denial would be completely understandable if we didn't meet their 'standards' because I can say with confidence that we have a 'perfect home'. But Cat House on the Kings refuses to give reasoning for denial (shown in email). If The Cat House on the Kings really cared about adopting these cats out to loving families their adoption process would be handled with love and care. An IN PERSON meet up with cats. A CALL or some sort of FOLLOW UP with the potential adopters..... Trying to adopt a cat off of a picture, through an email with no meet up or call is extremely flawed and extremely lazy. Being an organization that relies so heavily on the public support you'd think you'd be more welcoming and helpful to those same people.
