I care so much about this place. They seem in dire straits. Understaffed and overpopulated with unwanted babies. They honestly do there best with very little resources. I especially want to give a shout out to Cathy Balentine who stuck with me from the beginning of the adoption/fostering to the very end and post adoption. I came to pick up a beautiful Great Pyrenees named Bruce at the time and she was such an incredible support for me. Every step of the way she assisted. Even post surgery she arranged instantly for Bruce to be seen when there appeared to be a medical issue. I am thankful for the SPCA for giving me such an amazing boy. Thank you!

This is the dog I adopted and took back. She chewed on everything. Had ticks everywhere.

It was a nice experience overall but I returned a dog and still haven't received my refund. Paid for a tick treatment for a dog that didn't work and she had live ticks. They got all over my house.

Please come here to adopt, do not shop for a dog when you can get one here that HE HAS SO MUCH LOVE TO GIVE all my puppies are from here and they are AMAZING

Management is horrible and harasses people, including me. I've been hung up on many times, while just asking simple questions. PLEASE, do not surrender your animals here! Reach out to rescues first! Always look for non profit rescues on Facebook. This shelter is very high kill and your animal will not make it out alive. All of the pictures below are animals killed at CCSPCA. Do not surrender your animals here ever!!!

Picked up our new baby yesterday, she was a stray and was in need of a loving home. So glad we were able to bring her home. We have two shepherds now. She seems like she was in an abusive home before, but is giving us a chance. Bella Girl This shelter does their very best to help these animals. It is the sweetest thing, no one is perfect but what they do for these animals is absolutely selfless.

The people at the front were nice, they immediately greeted me and pointed me in the right direction to the cattery.

I was told that they had to have RABIES VACCINE PROOF. THIS WAS NEVER STATED ON THE WEBSITE. This was a huge waste of my time as I drove from afar with three small children and three cats in carriers. I have recently fostered and adopted from here two months ago. The clinic needs to do better. IF PROOF OF RABIES VACCINE WAS REQUIRED, THIS SHOULD'VE BEEN POSTED ON WALK-IN CLINIC INFORMATION PAGE OR ANYWHERE. Also, I was told that I might not get seen because 10 puppies were just brought in. It's like they were looking for an excuse to turn me away. There's a walk-in clinic right up the street. I'll be taking my services there from here on out. Lastly, this is no way to treat your fosters and adopters let alone anyone!

Fast forward a week and she's crying and struggling to go to the bathroom. We thought constipation. After a whole night of pain we called VAC and they said they had no appointments for follow up, it wasn't the antibiotics and to go to urgent care. We ended up at a different vet who first thing palpated her bladder and felt a mass. Then took a simple xray which showed 3 large bladder stones, one of which was blocking her from going pee. I'm no Dr, but wouldn't the original ultrasound from VAC show this? Wasn't that the point of the ultrasound? Even the 2nd vet was baffled that they didn't detect 3 cheese ball sized bladder stones via ultrasound, which I hear provides more detailed information than an X-ray. Anyway, I find that surprisingly incompetent. And even if they couldn't provide the necessary treatment (surgery), I would assume they would have spotted something so obvious and offered a treatment plan. Maybe they didn't even do the ultrasound? But they certainly billed for it. Anyway, boo on you VAC. Don't go here, they messed up big time.

They used to be located by the rail road tracks in what looked like a big red barn. The new location seems more spacious and a lot better IMO since it's not as cold and more parking. The service is always great cus the employees are always knowledgeable. They even have a rewards program with some dog food. I think it's buy 10 bags or buy 15 bags get the next free? Something like that. It has to be the same bag same weight tho. Still good if ur grabbing the same shit. The last time we went we changed our dogs dog food cus he was having bad allergies. There was a lady there that worked with the brand Red Barn (how funny I brought up red barn earlier lol) and she helped us out a lot. We ended up choosing that brand n got grain free and she gave us a $10 off coupon I forgot how much it was but that was deals... she also gave us a free canned food version and a coupon for the dry food topper for free. So we got all that for the discounted dog food price cus of the coupons. Fuckkn awesome man!!!

They strictly abide by these rules. I can only comment on the services that I use here. I've received vouchers in the past and gotten animals fixed for $30. If I foster, I will come here and get them assessed, dewormed, vaccinated along with flea and tick preventative. This is free of cost since I'm taking the responsibility of fostering instead of leaving them there at the shelter. They also offer me free food but I decline so it can go to someone who really needs it. Foot traffic varies. I've been here half a day or sometimes it takes no time at all. They make it very clear to people who surrender and drop off that the animal is at risk of euthanasia. They are always at critical capacity so if you are looking for a companion I always encourage to adopt and not shop or alternatively, fill out their foster application as they are always looking for foster ppl to save more animals and all supplies are provided.
