Great place to visit cats and dogs.. but Kennedy a full time employee has a very nasty attitude. Our dog got out, we put up flyers called all necessary places.. and today I seen our dog Mao in FB and that he was adopted. My son called and she was vile.. she said he yelled. Yes he raised his voice because that is his pet.. and that was her reasoning for her nastiness. She should be reprimanded.. especially working with animals.. she should look for employment elsewhere.

A friend of mine mentioned this adoption center so I started following them on Instagram and immediately got obsessed with seeing their posts of their new animals and events and it was exciting to venture into getting a new pet for our little who was begging for months about having a dog. I inquired about a few and I loved that they would put as much detail on the animal as they new and that they cost was affordable and the questionnaire was built to make sure their pets go to good families. I saw a pic of this dog and my friend did too and we just knew we had to go see him. I called my husband and he had our little, we showed up early to make sure we could see him first just in case, and thank goodness because there was already a line for them to open. Luckily the person in front of us was there for cats but then the people behind us were all there to see this little cutie. We spent lots of time with him and a vet tech, we asked a lot of questions and they gave us all the time we needed, stated we had first dibs but they would show the dog to others who were interested until we made our decision and we decided to give it a go and he as been AMAZING! Such a sweet dog, great with our kiddo, so kind and loving and a great addition to our family.

This is a real stellar, friendly, no kill adoption center. We have volunteered with foster care for just over a year now and we are constantly impressed with the level of dedication, attention and care they provide. Initially we were skeptical since moving to CA since the adoption laws here are so much more lax compared to the New England. Over there you would have to get a license just to foster and even perform home inspections on prospective adopters, none of that here in CA. We were placed at ease after meeting the staff here. So far we have fostered, socialized and house trained about 6 dogs, all adopted except one. The staff know the dogs by name and can recall their issues by memory. There are all fed with only Science diet and are well cared for. In addition they have an annual great fundraiser. We will be supporting them for years to come

Will not go anywhere else to adopt. This is an amazing place! Very friendly and caring staff! Can't wait to adopt again from here!

This place is a lot bigger than I expected!

This place is adorable! It is really huge and very clean. They have large exercise areas for the animals, and a cat "room" that looks pretty decked out with cat furniture. I even could walk in and pet the cats, although most were sleeping so I didn't bother them, but it was so nice to be able to interact with them anyhow. I was really looking to adopt a bunny, but they only have dogs and cats. Still, the girl at the front desk searched Petfinder for me to see if there were any rabbits around. They also have a cute Carnival style popcorn machine, as well as a gift shop, and clean bathrooms. I was so impressed with this place. Would be back.

I was told that they had to have RABIES VACCINE PROOF. THIS WAS NEVER STATED ON THE WEBSITE. This was a huge waste of my time as I drove from afar with three small children and three cats in carriers. I have recently fostered and adopted from here two months ago. The clinic needs to do better. IF PROOF OF RABIES VACCINE WAS REQUIRED, THIS SHOULD'VE BEEN POSTED ON WALK-IN CLINIC INFORMATION PAGE OR ANYWHERE. Also, I was told that I might not get seen because 10 puppies were just brought in. It's like they were looking for an excuse to turn me away. There's a walk-in clinic right up the street. I'll be taking my services there from here on out. Lastly, this is no way to treat your fosters and adopters let alone anyone!

Fast forward a week and she's crying and struggling to go to the bathroom. We thought constipation. After a whole night of pain we called VAC and they said they had no appointments for follow up, it wasn't the antibiotics and to go to urgent care. We ended up at a different vet who first thing palpated her bladder and felt a mass. Then took a simple xray which showed 3 large bladder stones, one of which was blocking her from going pee. I'm no Dr, but wouldn't the original ultrasound from VAC show this? Wasn't that the point of the ultrasound? Even the 2nd vet was baffled that they didn't detect 3 cheese ball sized bladder stones via ultrasound, which I hear provides more detailed information than an X-ray. Anyway, I find that surprisingly incompetent. And even if they couldn't provide the necessary treatment (surgery), I would assume they would have spotted something so obvious and offered a treatment plan. Maybe they didn't even do the ultrasound? But they certainly billed for it. Anyway, boo on you VAC. Don't go here, they messed up big time.

I was told both verbally and in writing that I had seven (7) days to notify the rescue of any medical issues. Within that seven-day period, I notified them in writing that my newly adopted Persian cat developed yellow eye discharge, squinting, and signs concerning for an eye infection, which is not typical Persian tearing. I also notified the rescue of my concerns regarding delayed or limited access to medical treatment, as prompt veterinary care is important to prevent unnecessary suffering. Despite reporting the issue within the stated timeframe, I was informed that no veterinary costs would be covered, and that treatment would require returning the cat to the shelter rather than allowing local veterinary care. Based on the condition that appeared shortly after adoption, I felt misled by being told the cat was in "good health." While I am not saying this was intentional, the information provided did not align with my experience once the cat was home, which was concerning. I share this so future adopters can make informed decisions. Please be cautious, especially when adopting brachycephalic or exotic breeds such as Persians, which are prone to eye and respiratory issues.
