I love Animal Crackers! The staff here are so knowledgeable. They have an amazing assortment of really quality pet foods, toys, pet clothes, chews , supplements and more! As a former employee of Petco, I fully encourage everyone in Corvallis to check animal crackers out first :) they have a wonderful selection for all pet owners. Bandit's favorite spot in town is Animal Crackers. Several of the staff members know him by name and he wags his little wiggle butt like crazy when we even start getting close to the store. We love supporting small, local pet shops, and we head over to Animal Crackers for all our pet shopping, including food, treats, supplements, and gear. They even special ordered a Ruffwear leash for us when we first moved to Corvallis and are always incredibly helpful when we have questions about products. They have a great loyalty program in addition to the loyalty program for Bandit's food. Fun staff, who are knowledgeable and definitely love pets, make this place Disneyland for dogs (and other pets)!! read more

we have been going to Animal Crackers for sometime now and every time i've gone in, up until today, it's typically just me. today, i decided to bring in my very nervous rescue and they were FANTASTIC with him. i let them know that he was nervous and they opted to give him some treats and within just a couple minutes he was taking the treats right out of the staffs hands (which is HUGE for him)! we've been working with him for awhile to get him better socialized in more public environments. even when he got a bit worked up about an off leash pup outside, they were so accommodating and understanding and moved us to the farther register to check us out so that he couldn't see the pup. i cannot recommend them enough! the staff and the products they carry are absolutely fantastic! read more

This really is a great local establishment. The staff is very well informed and the products they carry are very high quality. The staff is always willing to help you out, give you samples, etc. They even have a frequent customer program where if you buy ten bags of dog food, you get one free. My dog always enjoys being in the store. One star off though because I've often seen the employees talking to customers about practices or products they don't support. And they often add in a guilt factor. It's one thing to try to introduce your customers to better alternative, but it's another to make them feel guilty. read more

My only complaint is that they got my dogs hooked on really expensive dog food (ZiwiPeak). But then again, it's really good high quality stuff that they love. I love this place. I've been shopping here for ~7 years. They really only carry the better things out there. Quality leashes, collars, toys and very nutritious foods. They also all know what they're selling and can give personal advice. When my previous dog food brand sold out to some mega-Corp, they stopped carrying it until they could confirm it would be made to the same quality. They were also able to recommend another brand of food with similar nutrition that Petey loved from the frist day and agreed with his stomach. Top notch! read more

This place is awesome! It's tucked inside a little plaza and can be easily missed while driving down Kings Blvd. The staff is friendly and helpful. They sometimes have cats available for adoption and a visiting area where you can pet them. They have a rewards program as well so you should definitely ask about them while you're checking out. I still shop there sometimes when I'm in the neighborhood and fed up with Petco and Petsmart, but they have gone downhill over the last ten years or so. Their staff are awkward as hell, they advertise a cat nail trimming service when really they make you hold your cat in a poorly lit room that's practically a closet while they trim them and it's nearly impossible to make an appointment for that, they are overpriced. Seriously, that room looks like something out of the SAW movies. I tried to get Vectra flea control there when I first had my cat to see if it would be cheaper than my vet and they said in this horrible tone "no, we only use diatomaceous earth because everything else is toxic." I'm not putting dirt on my cat when Vectra is vet-recommended and perfectly safe. You're not a vet, pet supply store. read more

I bought two expensive toys and an expensive harness. Totaling $85. I didn't take a receipt because I'm an environmentalist. Nothing was said about a return policy. The toys were not of any interest to either pup. The harness was way too bulky for a small dog. I live on the coast and traveling in winter kept me from returning the harness for a couple of months. When I attempted to return it... a $40+ item, guess what? It was not acceptable even though it was in original packaging. I was told there was a 30 day window and this was posted in the store. I tried to find any posting of this policy and the clerk admitted it was posted nowhere. Still no return possibility. Not even credit. I used to love this store. I loved the cats that were available for adoption. I thought this store was different. Well, it's just another way to take your money. I will never return. They lost a good customer. I love this store! I just went in for the first time yesterday. Staff was super helpful. The local feed store was out of the food I normally buy for my kitten with a touchy tummy, so I tried Animal Crackers and WOW! What a great store! It was super clean and the staff was more than willing to help me pick food and let me snuggle the kitties waiting to be adopted. I love that they help the local shelter by keeping animals in their store. That's just awesome. I was also surprised to find that no only do they carry a great selection of foods, but they also are cheaper or comparable to the places I was going before.
