    Already seeing better!
    Eric G.

We brought our 1.5 year old Maine Coon in, due to constant eye issues. He ended being diagnosed with entropion in both eyes - where the eyelids were rolling back into the eye. This caused constant goop and ultimately made his ability to see poor. After our initial consultation with Dr Ashton, we decided to do it. It was a success and he has healed so well & it's great to see his bright eyes now! Shoutout to Dr Ashton, just awesome and a true master of her craft! Funny and willing to explain all! Thank you & we appreciate you!

Very grateful for this doctor and the wonderful job she did with my little guy's surgery. His eye was a mess after a severe eye infection. His eyelids were fused together as well as to the cornea, which kept his eye from closing or blinking causing further damage to his cornea. I'm really amazed at how well it turned out. She has repaired his eyelids and gave him the ability to blink again and look much more handsome. She's a true artist. Thank you Dr. Ashton and staff!

This is the best animal eye vet you will ever find! The staff is great. The vet is hilarious, experienced, and most importantly, cares about animals. Our cat needed surgery on both eyes. The vet had an injured wrist, but did the surgery anyway. They treated our cat like family. After the first surgery, the problem didn't go away. He needed a second surgery -- and they basically did it for free! Not only that, but after two surgeries, his eyes look GREAT. I hope you see this review as our way of saying thank you for everything! We highly recommend them to anyone!

I am so grateful and appreciative to have found Dr. Ashton. She is definitely an expert in her field . I found Dr. Ashton and her entire staff to be professional, welcoming and compassionate. I have great respect for Dr. Ashton and I could not have found a better doctor to care for and treat my dog Lana.

    Healing well at 6 weeks!

Dr Ashton and her crew saved my beloved Boston Terrier's eyeball! They are super booked but were able to squeeze in his emergency surgery (THANKS TO ALL WHO HAD TO SHIFT THEIR APPOINTMENTS TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN!) when a deep ulcer occurred/got infected. He's only 3, so it's a miracle he didn't lose his eye. The staff are so pleasant and helpful; they even held my baby on their lap the day of the surgery...and said he snored, so I knew he felt safe/loved. What a blessing to have this place right in our backyard. Feeling very grateful. Outstanding place. Pricey but worth it!!!

Dr Ashton and her staff have gone above and beyond to help our Boston Terrier, even when it was inconvenient for them. They made us a priority and we are so thankful! Even though she was on vacation, she still was so helpful and compassionate. We will be a lifelong customer

My girl had what we thought was a scratched eye so we got meds from the normal vet first meds weren't working so we tried second meds. This was over five weeks still wasn't getting better... So we made an appointment here. They were absolutely amazing from the time we made our appointment to the time we went home. They are very diligent answer questions very fast and are very straight to the point and straightforward. I will always recommend this place for any eye issues. You may think your animal has.

I've been going to see this vet for a couple of months now since we moved down from Los Angeles County. My dachshund, Abigail had cataract surgery up in Los Angeles over a year ago, she was immediately blind in her right eye. She has continued on a series of seven different medication drops this entire time. At our last appointment in this office, they apparently told me to make a follow up appointment in 3 to 4 weeks. But apparently it was buried in the paperwork. As a person who has spent well over $15,000 on my dogs' eyes, I definitely always schedule follow up appointments. I called to ask for some guidance in the fact that I think Abigail is losing her sight in the other eye as well. I needed some guidance on how to care for her. I was concerned about the medication's that I'm giving her and if something should be adjusted. I called today to schedule an appointment, which is not available until November. I asked for Dr. Marcella to call me so I can just run it by her as now I'm very concerned that because we didn't come back in 3 to 4 weeks that I'm progressing her blindness. The receptionist called me back to tell me that Dr. Marcella cannot see me until November and would not give me a call. I asked her point blank "are you telling me that our eye vet is saying that she will not speak to me or see Abigail to see if her blindness is progressing faster than normal and that maybe her meds need to be adjusted?" what I hear is she doesn't care. so the vet tech basically told me she would not be calling me back, and then if I'm not satisfied with that I can find another Eye Vet. So because I failed to come back in 3 to 4 weeks, I'm being punished, and my dog is being punished more. Shame on you Dr. Ashton!!! You've left us high and dry. DO NOT USE MARCELLA ASHTON!! Follow up to your reply: Marcella, At NO time today, did I demand to be seen. I did not ask for a same day appointment, Nor did I even ask for an appointment. I was just explaining to her what was going on. What she told me was that I missed an appointment that should've been scheduled 3 to 4 weeks after my last appointment. that was in June- at that time, I DID schedule an appointment three weeks later in July. On my paperwork, at that visit, with a new vet tech in training, when I was leaving it never said ANYTHING under remarks about a next appointment, Nor did anybody at the front desknor did anybody at the front desk asked to make me a follow up appointment. I'm happy to show you the paperwork I was given when I left. After Checking my paperwork I was given that day, as I keep EVERYTHING in a file, the paperwork and the receipt that I was given by your vet tech said nothing about a follow up visit. I asked your rude receptionist today if you would be willing to give me a call, I did not specify a time or a day. You very well could've told her to tell me you would call me sometime next week. That was never relayed to you I was not rude to her, I was not demanding of her, I was concerned and I was asking questions. If that's the way you let your front desk talk to people, you deserve to lose clients. There's always two sides to the story, and unless you listened to a taped transcript of our conversation, how do you know how the conversation went? How dare you come unglued with me, you are the professional, and I am the customer. If your receptionist relayed to you that I was rude and demanding and demanded an appointment that day or a phone call that day, she is lying. Your customers are your bread and butter of your business, might I remind you of that. I think we need to discuss this in person at Abigail's next visit. We can talk about it face-to-face, as I have nothing to hide! Unless your firing us as clients, in which case you are leaving us high and dry. Let's discuss this as adults.

My 6yr old Boston Terrier Finn was diagnosed with two corneal ulcers, one on each eye. After a whole month of meds that didn't work I made an appointment with Dr. Marcella Ashton. Fast forward to the day of the appointment, she was great at explaining the issues he had in his eyeballs and going in depth at what I could expect. She prescribed Meds and a mix of eye ointments I took all of her advice and applied it and within 1 week his eyes were starting to improve. It has now been a little over a month and you would never know this boy was on the brink of losing his eye. Thank you so much Dr. I will forever appreciate your knowledge and advice. Thank you.

My cat had a scuffle with my other cat, which resulted in this visit. Due to the nature of my cat's injury, (Some kind of zigzag/puncture right In the middle of his iris/pupil). Dr. Ashton had to clear out her schedules for the day to perform urgent surgery for our kitty...We are so grateful for that! She made the whole experience easy and as stress-free as possible. The team at Animal Eye Vet was professional and they explained everything to us thoroughly. I recommend this place!

Look how beautiful Casper is after his eye surgery

Dr. Ashton is a wonderful vet. Our 23 year old kitty Casper had 2 tumors on his eye. Other vets would not do Anything because of his age. We were referred to Dr. Ashton and she was able to remove the tumors from his eye. Thank you dr Ashton from Caspers family. You saved his eye and he looks beautiful. You're the best!

Finally met Dr. Ashton and she is so worth the wait.

We have been struggling to figure out the source of Oscar's runny eye since September 2021. I wish we had come here sooner. Our favorite vet, Dr. K (Murrieta Oaks) recommended this office. We saw another ophthalmologist in December and things got worse. We almost didn't make it to this appointment. Here we are today and I am in awe after meeting Dr. Ashton. She is straight forward and passionate about her work. She showed me exactly what is going on. We have a completely new plan and I have hope that things will get better with Dr. Ashton's guidance. She communicated everything clearly and provided a written plan. The office is clean and well organized. The staff is friendly and patient. This is clearly a well run business that saves lives. Dr. Ashton is well worth the wait and distance traveled.

Dr Ashton took a foxtail out from under my 3rd eye. It really hurt. She was so nice to me. Chibi says thank you.

Before the office manager writes some response I've had 4 animals seen at this office so this isn't the only issue I've had. This is the one I feel compelled to share with the public. My little frenchie has one weird curved toe nail. He wouldn't let anyone touch it because it formed a little blister on the pad next to that toe. (gone now but had it for a while) Petco said he was a drama queen. So i reluctantly paid for an annual check up just to get his nails trimmed by his vet under sedation. I spoke to the vet about the specific toe and she agreed it was probably why he didn't want ppl touching it. Somehow even after explaining myself and paying for sedation his curved toe nail was NOT trimmed. While all the others were. His curved toe is now overgrown nearly into the pad of his paw. Now he's more sensitive to it then he was before. I need to mention they did give him a sedative but no one waited for the sedation to take effect before trimming his nails. So he was screaming in the back. He was wide awake when they brought him out (clearly didn't wait for sedation) . I reluctantly paid left without checking. I wasn't aware I needed to check all of his toes and about 10 minutes down the road he started getting groggy. When I was ready to schedule his next nail trim this month at a doggy groomer with the prescription I left with (to avoid going back for constant nail trimming) I fought him to look at the nail and that's when I discovered what they missed. Instead of trying to fix the nails problem and offer any kind of solutions I was given a bunch of excuses (as if I've never trimmed his nails the past 3 years or like I've never had other dogs and years of nail trimmings) insert my eye roll to the "well we work in vets offices" "nails grow differently lengths" excuse excuse excuse also heard that vets not here oh that techs not here either. It was always a NEW vet. Insert another eye roll. Zero consistency in the office and zero confidence in basic skills. For those reading this feel free to google how common it is for groomers to miss a curved nail and then you can tell me if some blanketed statements like nails grow different lengths is just a cop out for not wanting to absorb the cost to fix their mistake! They care more about their Bottom line than they do Animal care or they could've easily said. "We understand the service you paid us for wasn't completely correctly and here is how we plan to correct that for you as our loyal customer:" Because in reality that's all I was asking for was them to admit fault (drs never do!) and to offer to cover his sedation to fix the toe. That's all it would've taken to save them from a 1star review A little customer service when you've wronged a customer and charged them full price is the right thing to do. The motto at SoCal pet hospital is : Bottom line OVER Animals Thank you for making his fear WORSE NOT better. Thank you for being so in able to say "We were wrong" "sorry we missed that" "that's a common mistake" Your inability to accept accountability has earned you one star. I'd give less if I could

We took her to a conventional vet to rule out UTI/kidney issues and had X rays done to ensure there was nothing grossly abnormal structurally with her bones. Everything checked out and I knew I didn't want to start her on a medication with significant side effects or have her on pain meds indefinitely, so I searched for holistic vets who did acupuncture and was so happy to see Dr. Rose was local to us! . On our first visit, Dr. Rose did a thorough exam of Nikka and informed us that Nikka had an unusual heart murmur. A different vet at a conventional clinic that had seen Nikka just a few weeks earlier also mentioned the heart murmur but said it was very mild/quiet and didn't seem concerned about it all and didn't give us any indication that it needed to be investigated. I thought that the murmur must be no big deal based on how the first vet handled the finding. Dr. Rose immediately told us that Nikka's heart murmur was quite pronounced and unusual sounding and she gave us a lot of info and recommendations on next steps. . Well, today we took Nikka to a cardiologist where she had an ECHO and it turns out she has dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM), which, thankfully, has been caught early and might be able to be improved with medication and dietary changes. . Dr. Rose literally saved Nikka's life with her attention to detail, her excellent clinical skills, and her prompt and informative follow up and recommendations. I will be eternally and forever grateful to her competence and expertise. . Nikka has also had 2 sessions of acupuncture and cold laser/photobiomodulation and she definitely has more pep in her step. Nikka also loves coming to Serenity Holistic Vet, she isn't anxious or nervous and just settles right down and relaxes when the acupuncture needles are in. Dr. Rose is a gem and we are so lucky to have her here in Murrieta.

My girl has severe anxiety and was in a lot of pain, but everyone treated her so gently and made her feel as comfortable as possible. They also took the initiative to quickly obtain her complex medical history and made sure she received the appropriate care without delay. The entire team is extremely knowledgeable, compassionate, and truly goes above and beyond for both their patients and their owners. They exceeded every expectation I had, and I am so grateful for the exceptional care they provided. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of my girl. I will absolutely return to this hospital if we ever have another emergency or need prompt medical attention. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

How is that 24 hr care? I didn't have time to wait around on a Monday morning when I should be going to work. Finally I called VCA and the woman I spoke to over the phone was very friendly and said I could come in right away. They're really easy to see off the freeway and there's plenty of parking. Customer service was great from the moment I got there. The doctor explained treatment options well and addressed any concerns I had. I would definitely recommend this place if you ever need medical treatment for your pet.

When we arrived around 11 a.m., it was definitely busy. There were a lot of people, and some were even standing because all the seats were taken. No dramatic long line. But honestly, they moved through everyone much faster than I expected. We waited about 30-40 minutes, but it went by pretty quickly, and once it was our turn, my dog was in and out in about 10 minutes. They also offer a military discount, which was a nice bonus. I was expecting to spend around $100, but all three of my dog's vaccines came out to only $65 in total! I was honestly shocked at how affordable it was. If you're looking for budget-friendly vaccines for your pet, I highly recommend coming here. They accept walk-ins on Saturdays, and Saturdays are the only day they offer both walk-ins and discounted vaccines. This is definitely going to be my go-to place for my baby girl from now on. Great prices, efficient service, and a wonderful experience overall!

The staff were as friendly as they could be but seemed a little busy and maybe burnt out a little bit. They were pretty busy but at least the wait wasn't that long. I also liked that they were precautious and caring about my dog's health but weren't using fear tactics to get me to buy more medicine or food, or do more medical tests. The bill was reasonable.

Nobody has called or emailed results. My second complaint is that when I asked them to show me how to visually put in medication in ear and how to use the ear flush, they were no help. They didn't show me how, they only read me the instructions. I had to go home and watch a YouTube video to figure it out. Which was really hard to try to put in medication in my dogs ear and my dog doesn't let me. They should have gave me oral medication or gave me my best option based on my dog or at least gave me tips or tricks on how to put in medication.
