Just wanted to give a big shout out to the team at Care Animal Hospital. My dog is elderly and needed a very serious dental surgery. Dr. Ram recommended that I take him to a specialist's to his age and heart condition, but I didn't have the money for that and I really did trust him and the team there. He was very straightforward with me about the possibilities that could happen and prepared me for the worst but said he would do his best. We are so grateful to the caring Dr. Ram and the staff at Care Animal Hospital! Our kitty, Twix, managed to swallow a two foot long ribbon on Monday afternoon that was somehow left out after Christmas. After calling a few other emergency vets, they were the only ones willing to see us. We arrived around 6pm, and by 9pm Twix was undergoing surgery after xrays confirmed the ribbon was in his stomach. When we went to pick him up just before midnight, which is when they usually close, he suddenly spiked a fever. The doctor and staff stayed past closing for over two hours to monitor our cat and make sure he was OK before sending him home. They also followed up diligently the next day and remained available via text and phone for questions or concerns. We're on day 3 and Twix is doing great! read more

In response to Misty: the one and ONLY resolution offered was again a small refund, so don't pretend like you or your staff cared at all for charging me over $1600. I believe the refund offered was about $400. so $1200 was the total i spent, for literally NOTHING to be done to my dog. Frida ended up giving birth to 7 puppies, which I had to raise and care for until about 9 weeks when I was able to rehome them all. The headache and stress caused by this debacle was immeasurable. All this clinic cares about is overcharging customers and getting defensive when someone calls them out, and simply tells them to go elsewhere. Classy! read more

This is in response to my first review of Care animal Hospital that Caitlin responded to. Wow they do not take responsibility at all for their substandard care. Instead, because I called one of their customer service people who handled the call a bitch and that too in text not directly to her because of her attitude she deserve that. Also so what if I called her that so you use that as a reason to wash your hands off of my fur baby? He was going down hill fast! After you guys removed the drain, you should've taken him in and removed all of the infection and resutured him as the new vet did at the different vet clinic. In regards to the antibiotics, the surgery was on 8/20. He started eating 8/21 evening, that's when I gave him the anabiotic and the pain pills. I called you guys on 8/22, saying that he is not eating again and that's when all this attitude started with you guys. He wasn't eating because the surgery area was already infected. I want to say thank you to Care Animal Hospital for getting my 8 month-old pup in on a Saturday when my only other option was the emergency vet. The Care Animal Hospital receptionist was very helpful in making a same-day appointment when I called and super pleasant when I arrived. My dog was throwing up so much she was unable to keep water down. Dr K took a lot of time with me explaining the potential cause and took x-rays to check for a blockage. Thank goodness, she just needed some anti-nausea medication and a bland diet to move things along. Dr. K also followed up with me via phone two days later to make sure she was ok. I really appreciate this office's care and their expanded hours to help pet parents outside of the regular business day. The price for urgent care was comparable to my regular vet and not the crazy emergency vet prices. I would definitely take my pets here if anything comes up again in the future! read more

Well, Lily, our Silver Laced Lakenvelder chicken is getting older. Once again she has an infection. Thank goodness for Dr. Miriam Flock and her assistant (sorry, I didn't catch her name), who were such good sports about taking a few photos. Dr. Flock actually remembered Lily! I just think that's incredible. Both women were just so kind and thoughtful about our Lily. She's just a chicken one might think but Lily is an ambassador for vegans! Yes, an ambassador for plant based diets. Check out the wonderful photos of our visit. The doctor and her assistant were such good sports. Dr. Flock even pulled out her stethoscope for a couple pics. Lily is back home with her sister Rose, another ambassador for plant based diets. Lily was prescribed antibiotics. UPDATE: After our experience at "Care" Animal Hospital last night, we will never return there. We were in a stressful situation with our dog and the vet (not Dr. Martinez) and his staff were incredibly unprofessional, unsympathetic, and slow to discuss X-rays when, come to find out, our dog needed surgery that they could not do there. Additionally, our dog was put in a crate after the X-rays were done instead of the staff bringing our dog back to us in the room while we waited. There was no reason for them to do that and caused our dog unnecessary distress. The young gal at the front desk spoke unintelligently and was downright rude. On our way to an emergency animal hospital, we had to call back to confirm the address (which should have been given while we were still in the office) and that same gal at the front desk gave us the address and then hung up on me. Thankfully, our dog will be okay, but not because of anything "Care" Animal Hospital did on her behalf. Do NOT take your pets there! read more

I brought my dog Chief in late last night around 10pm because he had a pretty bad yeast infection in his ears. He's not the easiest dog to handle, especially when it comes to anyone getting near his head--he really puts up a fight. we couldn't get him to stay still long enough for the Dr. to get a proper look. But then came Fatima--she was amazing. Seriously, I was blown away by how patient, calm, and determined she was. Most vets or techs we've seen in the past would've given up and just assumed his ears were fine. But not Fatima. She never gave up and managed to get the ear sample we needed. Her dedication to helping Chief feel better really stood out. She also worked with us as a team--offering suggestions to help us control him, and when those didn't work, she was completely open to trying our ideas too. She never made us feel that Chief was "too much," which I wouldn't blame her for thinking so because whooo is he a tough cookie. Through out the year in a half we had chief and had to go in for his puppy exams, fecals, bloodwork he was always a fighter to say the least he never let the tech or vet do there job with out a good fight sometimes we had to do with what we could and the vet was only able to exam him as much as he allowed before snapping at them and that's with a muzzle and cone on for extra safety of the staff. But Fatima handled him like a pro and stayed focused on getting the job done. I honestly can't thank her enough. This was my first time at this clinic, and based on this experience, I'll definitely be coming back. Chief may not be the easiest patient, but if I can request Fatima again, I absolutely will. She was a rockstar. 10/10 experience. read more

I find the employees to be well trained and knowledgeable. The medical staff aren't pushy about tests, treatments, surgeries, or medications. You get options and prices and make your own decisions. Extremely disappointed in how this practice treated my pet rat, Marley. On October 25 my pet was seen in office as a follow-up to a facial abscess that worsened. The doctor brought him to the back where his abscess ruptured and bled for more than 2 hours. I was sent home without even seeing her (had to ask to speak to her) and given quick stop for pet nails to stop the bleeding. When the vet finally came out she suggested taking him to the ER if the bleeding continued. When I spoke to the ER, they indicated that they could only keep him comfortable and not treat. I was also told by the tech that the doctor suggested I come back for a lancing the next day to remove the abscess. This conversation took place as I was holding my bleeding pet in a carrier and wondering when the doctor would be coming out. This was a $600 estimate which would have resulted in an open wound. I obviously declined. Upon further investigation and a new vet, it appears that Marley likely had Zymbal's Gland Tumor (ZGT.) which was never even suggested by Care. Further, removal of the abscess would have been ineffective as two other vets indicated that there is not enough healthy tissue. He would have been left him with an open wound. I decided to go to VCA Acacia on October 27. The advice and treatment plan I received there are contradictory to what Care previously suggested. In response to my request for a refund, Care contacted Acacia and attempted to manipulate their evaluation to back their treatment plan. I do not believe Care is knowledgeable in small animal care and would not suggest bringing in your beloved pet. In the end it's not about money, but the care and knowledge your vet team displays. I am extremely disappointed in this entire situation. Care didn't take ANY accountability for any of the above which should tell you all you need to know. read more

Took my African Fat Tail Gecko, Remus, to Care Animal Hospital today for a possible mouth rot case. Let me just tell you, I was blown away with how AMAZING the whole staff was!! When I initially called and made the appointment, they were able to get me in right away even with being a new patient. Arriving at the facility, the receptionist was very kind and patient. When we went into the room to wait for the doctor, the nurse that helped me was so incredibly sweet. I can't remember her name off the top of my head right now unfortunately. It made me feel so good and relieved when she asked me questions regarding Remus' health and how I care for him. Each of her questions were very knowledgeable regarding reptiles and it was so nice to actually be able to say all my concerns and not have to worry about not being taken seriously because he is, "just a lizard." When Dr. Martinez came in, she was so very kind and incredibly helpful with everything. I got to ask her all my questions and concerns and she answered every one of them with not just a vast knowledge about the issue, but also with a big heart that shows she cares for these animals as if they were her own. Dr. Martinez is perhaps one of the most indifferent, cold, uninformative vets I've ever encountered. She acted like it was an absolute JOY to give me the news that my dog may or may not have cancer. The fluid they collected was "unclear". And I can wait to hear from them about their further surgical availability. When might that be? She doesn't know! I can wait to hear. All of this is delivered in the most sing-song JOYOUS tone EVER! Like she's announcing I won a prize! I've never encountered any "professional" like this ever. Sadistic. Furthermore, I'd love to know why I was not informed that the test they ran only "sometimes" is conclusive. I just wasted 400 for absolutely no reason. Had they informed me, I would have told them to just do the biopsy. I should have been informed fully. We wasted both time and money and, based on this dr's response, she is THRILLED to tell me so. Adding my further experience today: I picked up the records to take to my new vet. The report makes it clear that cancer is probable. When I asked Sarah the receptionist why I was not told that she was instantly shaking angry, had a huge attitude and told me I could leave. I asked if they feel any responsibility to their patient to schedule quickly with probable cancer (instead of the vet's response to me that she had no idea when they'd be able to schedule since they were "so busy"), and asked why I was not told cancer was probable, but instead was told the results were unclear. She stated "We never say that unless we're totally sure." The WAY she said it was sarcastic and abrasive. I asked if she thought I had no right to be upset. She said, "You can feel however you want and you can LEAVE." Again, no compassion, no accountability, no urgency, no professionalism. What a trash heap of a practice. I'll now respond to the several lies you're telling below: First, my appointment was scheduled for 4:30 pm. You stated it was 9 am. You were wrong. You were hostile and belligerent. I should have trusted my gut and left at that point. Secondly, you've not spoken to me once about this incident. You've simply empowered your abusive staff in their behavior, having no concern for your customers. It's easy to see why they act like this. You alllw it. Thirdly, Your Dr flatly lied about what the results were. You'd know that if you'd heard what she actually said. She was nonchalant, mean spirited and passive aggressive also. Fourthly, I was not verbally aggressive. You've got me confused with your staff. I asked why the report was different than the dr told me. I called no one names, did not raise my voice, and used no foul language. Your staff member was abusive to me. Your staff (and you) act like children who have a bully pulpit. Eventually this will all come back on you. Your ratings are getting g kinda low. read more
