We went to Cornerstone vet after the mobile vet we called told us our cat had diabetes and they…read morecould not handle the followup needed. Our other vet did not tell us anything about the bloodwork; basically scared us by telling us we would have to give two shots per day or our cat would be in a diabetic coma. The place is in a shopping center (same as senor tequila in winter springs); it was clean and has two entrances, one for dogs and one for cats. They even had a separate exam room just for cats! The room we were in was very nice and comfortable, also. This vet had a completely different take on the bloodwork: that when cats are stressed, the blood sugar goes up; that since our kitty had allergies recently (she asked us), the creatine levels could be high; that the bloodwork did not show diabetes but rather could be signs of kidney disease instead; and that it's unusual for a cat to start having diabetes at such an advanced age. To make a long story short, the vet spent a lot of time with us explaining the bloodwork results the other vet had done and what they could really mean instead; made the recommendation that we get new bloodwork in a few weeks; and NOT to change anything in his diet or life at this time as he seemed to be a happy cat. At the end, the price was so much less than the mobile vet ($50). We were so relieved and grateful for the great advice and knowledge that the vet had (sorry I cannot remember her name). I'm a nervous first-time dog mom of a perfect puppy, Birdie, and she just got a great grooming! Maha clearly has a well-oiled system for communication, scheduling, and payment, but more importantly- she brings a calm, kind, and generous energy into your home. I was no longer interested in handing my puppy to someone to take into the back of a truck for groomings and Maha conveniently comes to your home and sets up in a bathroom of yours. She has all the tools for this mobile grooming and I get the piece of mind of knowing my puppy isn't screaming (I always wondered how she was doing when she was in the back of a van getting groomed). The texts reminding me about my appointment and then 10 minutes out were very helpful as I planned a break in my wfh virtual meetings and she was very timely. Birdie loved her and her calm energy. It's clear she loves dogs and I felt so comfortable leaving my pup in her care. The final result was a beautifully groomed Birdie, who smelled great, and was left with a beautiful collar of flowers (I told her I wanted her to look pretty!). The staff -- especially Mimi and Beth -- went above and beyond to make Caspian feel at home, even accommodating his somewhat particular eating schedule without any fuss. We also took advantage of their grooming services: Caspian got a full groom and dematting, and he's been moving so much more comfortably since. He seemed completely at ease, which tells me everything. We're already planning to bring him back for his next grooming.
