When I adopted a Pet Pantry cat who was living at Furever Home, I almost felt bad about taking him out of there. Food bowls, litter boxes, cat trees and toys everywhere! Zero rocking chairs! This is kitty Valhalla, at least at shelters go. I told them I couldn't compete with that many trees and toys. But what these cats need most is a home. And that part is working out well, at least in my case. This older male cat had no reason to bond with me but nevertheless, here he is as I write this, hopping into my lap and waiting for me to go to bed so he can curl up next to me.

But the dog was sick so the adoption couldn't be completed. We ended up adopting a dog from another organization. Despite my repeated requests to the director and her promises, they never gave me my adoption fee back. Now she ignores me. It's January 2022 and still no refund.
