I…read moreunfortunately, without knowing what kind of horrific and negligent agency that they are, "adopted" two kittens at a price of $450 EACH, that did not get along with each other AT ALL, and the agency did not mention a thing about it. Interesting fact that when I arrived pick them up, I had a very large carrier and the person running the operation, James, a very unscrupulous man, put the cats in two separate carriers and gave me one because he knew that they would not make it in one carrier but yet he did not tell me a thing. Oh, they need more room is what he said When I took them to the vet for their "healthy check ups" much to my shock and dismay my vet found an overwhelming amount of ear mites that were ALIVE running around in their ears and required expensive treatment for one week around the clock twice a day. This is absolutely outrageous.. and EGREGIOUS However, wait it gets better... I have one cat that has liquid diarrhea! And whatever One has I'm sure they both have so now I'm into a fecal sample for both cats at $85 a pop! Waiting to hear what kind of lovely creatures they came home to me with Not to mention, I have a dog so whatever they have he's going to catch. Isn't this a lovely scenario wouldn't anybody want this for themselves? I think not this agency needs to be shut down immediately. I called them up. I spoke to someone named James who is the most miserly, unaccomplished person I could ever imagine that I had to speak with and demanded my money back. You know what he said? "You get nothing" I told him unfortunately, then I would see him in court. This is non-negotiable. This company is despicable stay away at all costs.!

Given our circumstances, they suggested a smaller dog than we had wanted. They were right. Sadly, though, after only a few days we realized we were not going to be able to properly care for the dog (our fault, not the dog's). So we contacted them about a return, and they were quick to respond and sympathetic. We couldn't ask for more or for a better overall experience. We are disappointed it didn't work for us but grateful for the help and guidance we received from DAWS. They do good work -- blessings on them.

After that the communication was on and off. She took long to reply and it was hard trying to set up to meet the dog. When she finally answered it was the day before I asked to meet and we no longer could seeing she didn't respond until the night before. I asked to set up a meeting for the following weekend and she proceeded to tell me they now only needed a foster for Lucky. I said no because we wanted to adopt. Few days later I see lucky still listed on Petfinder so I asked her if he was back up for adoption and she told me he went to a breed specific rescue. Super sketchy and weird. Delayed us from finding another dog to adopt.

We adopted our sweet Great Pyrenees, Annabelle from Little Pink Shelter. Annabelle was a 5 year old stray from Arkansas. Holly not only throughly vetted me she also was completely honest about Annabelle. Annabelle was a farm dog, hard to contain...Houdini! I had many dogs before Annabelle but I was grateful for Holly's honesty so I knew exactly what to expect. I didn't get insulted with Holly's intense vetting process because I had already raised other big dogs, I knew her priority was about Annabelle's safty not my ego. Little Pink Shelter has an incredible adoption success rate. In the end for Holly, it's only about the best life for the dog.

I never write reviews but I felt the need after my experience with Whiskers…read more My dog has a stomach issue and requires meds 3 times a day. Before his stomach issues we always used a local dog sitter who would take dogs into his own home. Since then we have only used sitters who can sit at our house. We had a 15 day trip scheduled for September and found out 4 months before the trip that our regular sitter would be unavailable. We started researching new sitters immediately . As I am sure you know, it's not easy finding someone to trust to stay with your pet and home. Our vet recommended Whiskers and 2 other sitters. We met with the Whiskers owner (Liz) twice. Once alone and once to introduce use to the sitter she was assigning to our dog/home. For some reason she said it would be an issue to have the same sitter for all 15 days (we did not want multiple sitters - tried it once and it was a mess). Eventually we were introduced to someone who could commit to all 15 days. During this meeting we asked for references for the actual sitter. Liz seemed upset by this. She wanted to provide a reference to her company only. I wanted a phone number to speak to someone who had used the sitter she was assigning to our dog. Liz said she would get back to me. We also asked for the sitter's phone number so we would tell him when there was a package coming and to ask for an occasional photo of our dog. Liz said no - all communication would have to go through her. I reminded her that we would be in a time zone 7 hours ahead and that we needed direct communication. Again, Liz would think about it. 3 days after the meeting (4 weeks before we were leaving from our trip) we received an email from Liz saying we were not the right fit. We emailed back and called. She would not speak to us. No more contact. How could you do this to anyone? It took us months to find and agree on Whiskers. What a horrible experience. I can't remember the last time I was so upset by something a vendor did to me. The only thing I can think of is we were fired because we asked for a reference and a mobile number. I would never ever recommend a company that treats people this way. ZERO STARS!
