A friend of mine decided to sell his father's LEGO collection, as his father is in poor health and they need the money for medical bills. They have the largest vintage LEGO Star Wars collection in the world. Worth over $200,000. The agreement was to sell it via consignment. Basically, the store agrees to display and sell the collection piece by piece, and they take a percentage of each sale then give the rest to my friend, who retains ownership of the entire collection, despite it being displayed in their store. The franchise location that was consigning this collection went through an ownership change. It was stipulated that the new owner would take on the consignment of the collection. However, the new owner, along with Bricks and Minifigs corporate (including the CEO HIMSELF) essentially seized the entire collection, refused payment to the rightful owner, and told them "you can't do anything about it. Your dad is dying, you can't afford his medical bills, so there's no way you'll be able to take us to court over this. The collection is ours now, and there's nothing you can do about it." When he went to the store to confront them and try to figure out a way to get his dad's collection back, they had the police trespass him. So he sent a friend in to ask about it. The friend was promptly trespassed, and eventually arrested. This situation is still ongoing. Bricks and Minifigs corporate has made it very clear that their intention is to keep the entire collection, without payment, despite a very clear, concise consignment contract. BRICKS AND MINIFIGS IS A SHADY, EVIL COMPANY. THEY HAVE STOLEN A $200,000 COLLECTION FROM A DYING MAN, AND THEY'VE ADMITTED TO THEIR SHADY INTENTIONS ON VIDEO. DO NOT GIVE A SINGLE CENT TO THIS COMPANY. THE ENTIRE BRICKS AND MINIFIGS CORPORATION SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN FOR FRAUD/GRAND THEFT, AND THE CEO SHOULD BE IN PRISON.
