I've visited this store about four times now, and unfortunately, each visit left me with the same…read moreimpression. First, the customer service is not great. I don't expect owners or employees to act like best friends with every customer, but basic friendliness goes a long way. A simple greeting, a smile, or even a respectful tone would make a difference. Every time I came in, I tried to say hello with a smile, but I was usually met with cold shoulders, blank looks, or no response at all. I've seen mixed reviews from other people, so maybe experiences vary, but from what I personally noticed, customers seem to be treated differently for reasons I can't quite put my finger on. Second, the language used by the staff/owners was uncomfortable. I brought my nephews with me, and there were also other families with kids in the store. The workers or owners didn't seem shy about throwing around curse words, including f-bombs, in front of everyone. I understand this is not a children's store, but if kids and families are present, it really should not be that hard for grown adults to keep it professional for a few minutes. At one point, I exchanged looks with another parent, and we both clearly felt the same way. Lastly, the pricing is disappointing. They do have some rare figures, but many of them are overpriced even when you factor in shipping from online sellers. The loose figures were also poorly packed and still expensive, which makes them hard to justify. Overall, the prices felt pretty close to eBay, sometimes without the convenience or buyer protection that online shopping offers. Maybe this place is worth checking out if you live in the Bay Area and want to avoid shipping, but based on my visits, I don't see a strong reason to come back. Experiences like this are exactly why online stores continue to thrive.

Besides the free comic book, the owner has booked a Smash Bros truck, a smashed burgers truck. We tried it, and the burgers were good!! A bit pricey ( 1$ extra for one slice of tomato and 1$ extra for some shredded lettuce ) but they were good! And somebody was selling coffee too. We sat in the car to enjoy our lunch, then went back to the store for more bargains. The bookstore has some outside vendors too. I bought a drawn book for my granddaughter, and they were some lovely bookmarks too. I bought some 3D printed Pokemon toys last year, but I was disappointed that vendor didn't come back. I have not seen many back issues with the exception of wall comics. They have a pretty large area of clearance $1 comics on the left side of the store which seem to be 2-3 years old books. I like that these $1 boxes are on tables and my back appreciates that they are easy to sort through. They also have an inventory of collected editions which includes trade paperbacks, hardcovers, omnibus, and compendiums. The owner Kerry has tried to help me find some obscure current comic books a couple times which I appreciate. The staff have all been helpful and easy to work with. I believe they do a significant amount of business in trading card/game card these days, but still have a respectable comic offering.

Singles are kept in the 1$ long boxes which include a lot Marvel, Image, Valiant, Ultraverse comics from the 90s, you'll also find some DC and vertigo titles as well. We didn't come up with a close by card store, but there was this comic book store we decided to stop and try. The owner was very very nice. Easy to talk to. Lots and lots of comics on the shelves, and there were quite a few people inside browsing and chatting with the owner as well.

Coup D'etat #1 Written By Ed Brubaker; Art By Jim Lee, #2 Written By Micah Ian Wright; Interesting event storyline where The Authority seizes control of the US Government. This TPB is out of print and since Micah Ian Wright was fired by DC and blacklisted from comics for stolen valor everything he's written has stayed out of print. The Authority story with art by Jim Lee that DC will probably never ever reprint in our lifetime. And some FCBD Greatest America Superhero, Superman, ect. Great store and great customer service.

The way it works is, you visit their website first and place an order there. You can choose whether to have your order delivered or pick it up yourself from their warehouse. I buy from them often. If you place an order for pickup early enough in the day, they may have it ready on the same day. Otherwise it'll be ready by the next day except for they don't do pick ups on weekends. So if you order Friday afternoon then you'll most likely have to wait until the following Monday.
