So my obsession with this shop started 2 years ago. My uncle brought back pie's for my fam and my cousin gave me ONE piece. She said "You can only have one piece because the rest is for me and my fiance (at the time)." I wasn't that excited because she made it sound like it wasn't all that great and it was PURPLE!!! I took my first bite... and my eyes got so big and i turned around to tell her HELL NO I NEED MORE THEN JUST ONE PIECE, but she put her hand up and didnt even want to hear me. OMG it was so velvety, rich, creamy, sweet and the crust... OH THAT CRUST!!! I was trying to eat it so slow to enjoy each bite, I was in love... it was delicious... and I couldn't wait to get my OWN PIE!!!! LOL So when I went to Oahu I kept telling my cousin... Take me to go get this pie... so she did and she had never had it... and OMG did she tear it up... she even went back when I left to go get some more. Although it is a firm $20 a pie, it is well worth each dollar spent, because its amazing. As for any other dessert, i'm not sure, but when I went they had run out of SOOOOO many desserts, so I am pretty sure that they are delicious just as their sweet potatoe haupie pie!!! Sweet bread is so delicious and so fresh. Went to pick up several loaves of sweet and taro bread from some friends returning to the mainland. The lady at the counter was so sweet and thoughtful. Her interaction with her customers makes you feel like Aunty was offering you some homemade pastries. One of the taro bread on the counter was "crooked" so she says but I didnt mind. She exchanged it as said this one looks better, nice and straight. I appreciated her pride and care on ensuring I had a better taro bread. Bought the lilikoi and cinnamon butter buns. I've tried the sweet rolls and the lilikoi butter and love it. First time visiting the bakery and there was so much to choose from. They even sell cheesecake, butter mochi, other baked goods and sandwiches. I just ate the cinnamon and it was delicious. I wanted something different to bring to the family in the mainland so had to find this place and try it. AAAAaaawwwww...I desperately wanted to try their plain butter sweet roll, but I just grabbed it without actually looking at the label. I just grabbed the bread that was in the plain butter section. When I went home, I discovered that I bought the cinnamon version!!! Dangit!!!!! I was deliriously pissed! It was ok...not as delightful as the lilikoi version. Not meant to be =( My kid desperately needed to pee. The girl behind the counter was nice enough to let him use their employees only bathroom. How sympathetic and kind of her....=) I'm still mad about the cinnamon mix up...but since she did that one sweet gesture, I'll forgive ani's bakery and come back. My entire family absolutely loves the filled sweet rolls! We go back again and again and all the flavors are really delicious. We've tried the coconut/haupia, guava, lilikoi and peanut butter cream. Our favorites are the guava and lilikoi. You just can't eat one, these rolls go so fast. Haven't had anything bad from this bakery but you definitely can't go wrong with any of the rolls. I have nothing but great things to say about Ani's Bake shop. I knew I wanted to order desserts from their seasonal dessert list for the Christmas holiday for my family and I. Looking at the list I wanted everything!! However let me not go crazy!! I called Monday Christmas week to place my order but no one picked up then it rang busy the rest of the day. Then I tried ordering on line just like how they describe on website and flyer. After going through all the steps it wouldn't go through and tried several times. So of course I called Tuesday morning and after several attempts got through spoke with the nicest person Margie. She was patient kind and super helpful. She took my order and was going to process and charge my credit card. However because she wasn't sure they were going to baking the blueberry oatmeal bars, she was kind and told me she would follow up with baker and let me know then charge accordingly. She did exactly that. She called me twice that day once to tell me about bars not being available then when she charged my card. What a hard worker and diligent too, it was past 7pm when she called second time. Awesome people!! Christmas Eve my sister and I went to go pick up our order. They had 2 lines just as I was told. One for paid orders and the other. We were the only ones in paid line. Lol I guess a lot of people don't trust to pay first. It took a few minutes as they were serving both lines and the other was long but efficient. The lady came out with part of our order and said they didn't have the others like the pumpkin buttercream roll and lilikoi bars and glazed donuts. They were kind to offer replacements. We got the pumpkin crunch cake and the cinnamon Mauna Kea. We left and on the drive home realized they forgot our gingerbread cookies. So if you drive the H3 there is no exit between Ani's and Kaneohe. So basically we went all the way home and came back for our cookies. And so glad we did. Not only did we get our delicious cookies but they were so sweet to give us another Cinnamon Mauna Kea. There customer service was outstanding among all the holiday chaos. Thank you to everyone working there from the baking staff to those outside showing us where to park. They're all so warm and helpful!! God bless ABS!! You guys are awesome at what you do. All of your desserts were on point. Your palate gets elevated to a whole new level with ABS!! After we shed some of the holiday weight we are going back for more!! So, so, so addicted to their guava and cinnamon rolls! Sometimes (when I feel like sharing) I bring them to work and everyone loves them. The sweet bread rolls are sliced halfway through and smeared with (sweet almost like icing) cream cheese and whatever flavor they add. The guava is guava jelly and the cinnamon is cinnamon sugar. They have other flavors like lilikoi (really good too), Irish cream, mango and many more! I haven't tried too many because I keep buying my two favorites. My husband and I came here about a year ago to get something to eat. we picked out cinnamon rolls that come in a package. The store was very small, not much room to stand if theres other people in there trying to get their stuff. I remember there were dead bugs stuck in a framed sign that hung up on the wall. We should have took that hint because as soon as we got home and took a bite of one of the rolls, it had tiny bugs in it!!! threw the whole thing out, was so disappointed because I read all of these good reviews on here. A friend turned us on to this place. We are moving, so my wife had been getting breakfast stuff for the crew. We started with the sweet cream rolls, today we got custard filled donuts and cinammon rolls. I mean damn, everything has been fantastic. I have never had a custard filled donut that was soooo heavy, it must have weighed a half pound from all the custard! The cinammon rolls were moist, flavorful, and plentiful. Definitely the place to get the BEST sweet bread EVER! Yeah, they do sell them in other stores like longs, walmart, etc. but getting it here you know its fresh. They also have taro rolls, guava bread, lilikoi bread, pies and other pastries. Getting the bread at the source is also cheaper and theres more variety to choose. I love (and I mean LOVE) Ani's Okinawan Sweet Potatoe Haupia Pie....ever since Aunty introduced it to me some 5 years ago, I need to pick one up whenever we are in town. You can find their sweet bread at the local Long's and their Chocolate Haupia pies at local Costco...but the Sweet Potatoe is really the best and I think you can only get it at the bake shop. It has the most buttery macadamia nut (?) crust. The people there are super nice too, b/c they waited for us to come pick up our pies even though we called them a half hour after closing. read more
