I am very happy to recommend Anita's Custom Draperies. I had very heavy black-out draperies that had never worked properly because the hardware was too light-weight to handle them. Liz, the owner, quickly responded that she was sure she could resolve the issue. She came out and correctly assessed the problem, suggested a solution, and made an appointment to have an installer join her to measure for new hardware. She also shortened the drapes so that they moved easily just above the floor. After reworking the drapes and ordering the new rods the installer, Danny, came out and hung the reworked drapes with new hardware. He spent time "retraining" the pleats so that they all worked well. Every appointment was on time, no surprises, very professionally done, and for a fair price. I recommend this business with no hesitation to anyone needing draperies. read more

I recently purchased a home and have had a parade of contractors come through my place as part of a widespread remodeling effort. This has been majorly frustrating on occasion; however, one in particular has been a total joy to work with: Liz from Anita's Custom Draperies. I actually looked forward to her visits because of her talent and personality. My "window project" (a large bay window) started after a painter inadvertently removed all the drapery hardware left by the previous owner, so I thought "might as well upgrade." I first had installed a double-rod assembly that was incompatible with better quality draperies, according to Liz, so she prevailed in getting me to obtain the type of rod assembly that would be way more suitable for the design concept I wanted. Then we looked at fabrics--holding them alongside my carpet, wall and artwork--to decide which would have the most "wow factor" in coordinating with everything else in the room. It was actually fun, I'm not kidding! Liz kept me up-to-date every step of the way, letting me know when she received the hardware and fabrics, and when she would be stopping by to take measurements, etc. I wound up getting some gorgeous drapes, and when my installer who mounted the rod assembly came by to adjust some hardware, he was blown away by Liz's workmanship. Every aspect of the sewing and construction was first-rate, and there were some exceptional touches that are just not done by other professionals.
