After extensive research and calling multiple companies for rates, I'm so happy that I went with…read moreCapitol Auto Transport. My main concerns/ worries when choosing a company were 1) receiving a quote but having to ultimately pay much more 2) being given a delivery window but getting delayed and strung along 3) bad or no communication from the company/ driver. I read so many terrible reviews about other companies, so naturally I was stressed out. Reddit and Yelp lead me to Capitol, and I provided my info on their website. Within an hour I received a call from Andy (the owner of the company). I immediately felt comfortable speaking with him. He was friendly, thorough and transparent with their method of providing an estimate and booking a carrier. He was very communicative and even booked a pickup for me during Thanksgiving weekend. My vehicle was picked up in Los Angeles on a Saturday afternoon and delivered to Denver Monday evening. Payment is made upon delivery, so nothing is collected upfront. I paid exactly what I was initially quoted. Overall it was a stress-free, easier-than-expected process. Very thankful and impressed by the professionalism and quick turnaround from this team. Shoutout Andy and Cat! I highly recommend them for any auto transport needs, and will continue to use them in the future.

We were cautious as we had heard nightmare stories about transporting vehicles. None of that occurred. No price changes. No miscommunications. All went extremely well.

Shipping a car can be traumatic. YouTube is full of entertaining stories how transport goes wrong…read more Entertaining if it's not your car. I bought a car about a year ago and the dealer arranged transport that must have been through a broker. Nightmare. It was only chance the car made it unscathed. I bought another car a month ago, and this time I was responsible for transport. So while I was looking for the car of my dreams, I was also looking for transport. The key piece of evidence was checking out Pebble Beach Concours (in August every year) photos and see what trucks are there. If those companies are trusted with multi-million dollar cars, I should be able to rely on them for my expensive (to me) purchase. I actually saw two names on the trucks in the Pebble Beach photos. I tried one and for 3 weeks got the runaround. Each time I called, the story was always exactly, "we're waiting on a truck to become available." Eventually I read that as, "you're not one of our priority customers." So I submitted a quote request on Reliable's website. I think on a Thursday. I got the quote back almost immediately and Monday I called and spoke to Chad, who turned out to be their Operations Manager. He couldn't be nicer and treated me like I shipped $100M of cars every year with them. I told him my sad story (full disclosure) and gave them my credit card number to release the order to dispatch. I hung up and hoped something happened in the next week. 8a the next day, the dealer that had my car back in Detroit (and had been patiently holding the car inside for weeks) emailed that the car was being loaded! Delivery was the fantasy experience I had hoped for--but didn't get--with last year's car. José (the driver) was one awesome dude. So professional and a really nice guy. We met at my local Mercedes dealership. It's a huge facility right off 101N, which suited Reliable much better than coming to my house, which is not easily accessible by a huge, enclosed transport truck. I went up to José and introduced myself with, "For you, it's just another Sunday. For me, this is a fantasy." He smiled and then showed why he's an extraordinary driver for a wonderful company. The big reveal (my wife and a friend were there and had never seen the car) was a blast. It was really neat to see the specialized equipment the trucks have to transport the cars in style (air ride!), and the care José used in every step. And did I mention the truck was immaculate? I'm still not sure how that's possible. The thing came cross country, up from LA (picking up the Long Beach F1 Grand Prix pace car) to the SF Bay Area, and it looked like a councours-prepared vehicle. It's like judging people by how they dress and their shoes (in the old days). Nowadays, you judge a transport company by how they treat their equipment. P.S. I might have lucked out on the scheduling... I learned in this experience that top-notch transport can take time if you don't want your car brokered off to who-knows-who using a pickup truck and a clapped out trailer. You also have to work around the big annual car events (Pebble Beach, Amelia Island, ModaMiami...) when huge numbers of cars are going into the event and then are "stranded" until after the event to return the cars home. If you're paying for this level of service (Reliable's quote was a surprise because it was reasonable), receiving the car in perfect condition is really all that matters long term. Under this rule, I was happy to be patient for a while with the first company... note that I still haven't heard from the first company... not even a proactive status... and it's been 5 weeks.
