I absolutely adore Dr. Wenzel, she saved my foot. I was sent to her by peace health wound care because I had a big open wound on my right foot and they thought I had a bone infection. The doctors at wound care were urging me to go back to Rebound as well where they wanted to cut my foot up some more. They were telling me that I wasn't going to heal but I didn't believe that, I've always seen myself walking again. So I went to Dr. Wenzel with a possible bone infection and she basically said that she was skeptical that it was a bone infection and she wanted to wait and see how I healed because apparently if you do have an infection your wounds don't close and there would be obvious signs of the infection, my foot looked great the whole time and was healing week by week and getting smaller. So we waited. The doctors at wound care were very condescending and acted like I was an idiot and that Wenzel didn't know what she was talking about, they really wanted me to get my foot cut off and were baffled that she didn't wanna do surgery, she wasn't so quick to cut me up, she's a smart woman, a smart doctor, she knows what bone infections look like, she operates on them all the time so I trusted her opinion, I trusted my gut and here I am a year later completely healed and just starting to walk. Thank God for Dr. Wenzel who believed in me from the beginning. And shout out to Dr. Adams as well, Ankle & Foot is a great practice with great doctors. read more

So far, I would rate them a 5. I went to another doctor who looked at my foot for 5 seconds and immediately recommended surgery and taking out bones. At this office, however, Dr. Kajgana spent a great deal of time checking both my feet, examining my toes, and discussing options I have for relieving pain without surgery. Wow. We'll still have to see how well they do in dealing with my insurance, but Dr. Kajgana was absolutely amazing. Thank you! read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I had a broken fifth metatarsal and the first thing the doctor said was that he could put a screw, so surgery right away. I was surprised and I asked if that was the only solution and look annoyed and said that the other option was not to put any weight on my foot for a month. When I said I would prefer that solution he told me that was OK and that they could fit a book and left the office rather quickly. The second time I went for an appointment they were taking X-rays of my ankle instead of my foot, and I had to tell them where was my fracture. I got a fracture boot from a friend and crutches from another one. When I got the bill they charged me for a boot and crutches. I had to call 4 times for them to fix the bill and when I got the next bill they charged me the exact same amount for "manipulation" when the doctor just touched my foot to see where was hurting. I would not recommend anybody to go to this clinic. read more

I will never go to this provider ever again. They billed me for service from two years ago for almost $400! When I called and asked why I was being billed for service from 2022, billing admitted that it was a fault on their end, but then when I filed a complaint with the Attorney General's Office, they blamed Pacific Source and me for not having called about my concerns sooner. Although physicians Wenzel and Lin are excellent practitioners, the office management and orthotic technician at Ankle and Foot Physicians and Surgeons leave much to be desired as far as quality of patient care and communication goes. I had a follow up appointment on January 31 with a digital scan and assessment for custom orthotics and after nearly 4 months and 4 phone calls asking for an update, no one has called me back. This is unacceptable. Each time I called I was told someone would call me back to let me know the status of my referral for orthotics. I will not be returning to this clinic. It is unfortunate as Dr Wenzel helped me more in my first visit than my prior podiatrist. But if I can't get the orthotics I need, it's no use in going. read more

I would never go back to this office. I went to get fitted for orthotics and when I picked them up he wasn't in so they wanted me to schedule an appointment. When I did go in he said they fit fine. They were not comfortable. So I had to go again and he said he made an adjustment but they still did not fit. Every time I went in for maybe 5 minutes to get the orthotics to fit me they charged me. They sent a huge bill later and said insurance would not cover even though they checked with them. I made payments every month and then they sent me to collections without notifying me even though I was paying. This is the worst office I have ever been to. I don't even have orthotics that fit! I will not be back to this place. My first visit was a disaster. In pain from both feet and back, and using a walker, the trek from parking to their office was long and arduous. No warning. The waiting room was full with no place for me and my walker. The staff did not communicate what pages they required me to fill out and so as that process took awhile. I was not taken by the assistant to a room for some time and then had to wait for an hour to see the doctor. The assistant came in and wanted me to go to an xray room without offering any assistance to get out of the chair, or to hobble to the xray room. The doctor was brusque and unhelpful. Resented my questions. I had requested a wheelchair to assist with my exit. None was forthcoming for quite some time. And then the office staff verbally chastised me saying I was rude. I wasn't rude. I was in pain. They all lack the ability to sympathize, to observe, to be helpful, and to be respectful of my time and needs. read more

I visited Ankle and Foot for an ingrown toenail procedure. Friendly staff. The Doc was informative and gentle. (I hate needles.) The only downfall is, they don't take payments on billing. You must pay in full or get a CareCredit account. Understandable but for someone who makes their payments on time and doesn't want another "thing" on their credit report, that kind of sucks! I'd go back once I've saved up enough to pay my bill in full. Update: Turns out, I needed to return to see Dr. K to get a procedure done to permanently remove my ingrown toenail. I made my appointment which was a breeze. I wasn't used to be being out of work before 5PM so I didn't anticipate being stuck behind several school buses so I called and informed the office that I would be about 5 minutes late. When I finally arrived, I was checked in and let Back to a room all within minutes of arriving. I was in the room all of 5 minutes before being seen by Mr. K. He got right to the point and was very personable. Dr. K explained the entire procedure to me so that I could understand it and got to work. My procedure has a 97% (if I remember correctly) success rate but if I had to return, I would gladly do so because I know I am in good hands at The Ankle and Foot Physicians and Surgeons. I had an appointment about a year ago. At the time of the visit, I cleared that I don't want surprises bills and asked them to let me know if they are any. They smiled and reassured me that everything is covered. the doctor ordered some radiographs for my ankle--I figured out; not by them; that it is Plantar fasciitis--so, again I asked them if there is anything that is not covered and got the same answer. The doctor told me it is needed to get to surgery, but I had a trip to my home country, so because of the expenses, I thought it is better to check it there, so I didn't follow the doctor's order (Lucky!!). Over there, doctors told me there is no need for any surgery. Long story short, I healed by time and now I am ok, without any medical treatment. The punch line of the story is they send me a bill--about $124--for first-time patients and radiographs. I called to complain and fix the issue, but in the end they send my bills to the collection--happens during the epidemic, when every other institute tried to help. I asked to pay it in installments, but they refused. they said it should fully be paid here or talk to collections. I got no help from them and not even a humane behavior--they were polite, but stone-polite. So, the conclusion, if the money is not an issue for you also you are seeking the ultimate solution for any problem, your answer could be there. read more

As a physician in the community, I can easily say Drs. Wenzel and Kajgana provide exceptional, high quality and evidence based care to their patients. Their diagnostic acumen and patient-centered focus has consistently proven to be exactly what my patients have needed. I can attest to many cases wherein they have been able to provide a diagnosis missed by other physicians, and have a great track record when it comes to treating all kinds of foot and ankle conditions. The only treatment "failures" I have seen have been related to a patient not following directions, then being surprised when they didn't get better. If you're in need of ANY type of care for your lower body (yes, they address everything from the knee down) then I highly recommend these two. They carry AMAZING compression socks that I wear daily, which provide a "leg hug" and reduce foot fatigue from standing and walking all day. Dr. Kajanga and Dr. Wenzel are truly fantastic physicians. I went to AFPS with chronic foot pain. (It had previously been diagnosed as "having a callus" by another podiatrist in town.) Due to scheduling problems on my end, I had the opportunity to see both of them on different occasions. After some testing, they determined I had an extremely rare type of tumor throughout the bottom of my foot which they were able to correct with surgery. I AM NOW PAIN FREE! While I was very impressed with their professionalism and the quality of care I received, I REALLY appreciated their no BS approach. I was resistant to being off my foot for my entire recovery period but they didn't mince words. They explained that I could follow their recommendations and likely have a very good outcome or I could ignore them and risk having scar tissue and pain for the rest of my life. I would also give this business a zero star. I went in for a surgery consult. I told them that day that I was getting a second opinion and that the only day they could schedule my surgery probably would not work for me. They talked me into scheduling the surgery so I wouldn't lose my "spot." I called within 48 hours and cancelled the surgery spot. They billed me almost $1,000 total including $650 because I allowed them to hold that spot for me...something they talked me into. They explained that my insurance company allows them to bill for that. I called my insurance company to complain that they had paid any portion of this bill. I certainly have no intention of paying my portion. read more

The physicians are great. If you need orthotics, don't come here however. I see another recent review of their orthotic mismanagement recently. I don't normally leave reviews but feel compelled to do so. Don't waste your time coming here if you need orthotics! The technician who is in charge of ordering said they'd take take about 2 weeks. It's now been two months and still no orthotics. He lied about when he ordered them to cover his tracks. Called him several times and even told him that I didn't trust they were ordered. He made an appt on 5/18 for me to come in and have them fitted. 5 minutes before the appt he called to say they didn't have them. I was in the parking lot!!! I changed my flight in from work to be there. Finally met with the manager who apologized and showed me that they were ordered 6 weeks after I was told they were. She ensured I'd get them and even said she'd comp me for them. I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I had an appt for Friday of Memorial Day to have a fitting and I received a call Thursday that the practitioners will be out of the office for Memorial Weekend and most of the following week and they need to reschedule me for another week out. I was in tears. They have no idea how important this appt was to me. I have severe foot pain and wait every day to get these orthotics since March. To just nonchalantly cancel an appt and for me to forgo Memorial Day weekend plans to leave town so I'm able to get to this appt is unacceptable. I'm just going to drive there and pick them up myself and have my PT fit them for me. They need to fix their systems and I'd go somewhere else until they learn they can't keep doing this to people. read more

After calling a few similar clinics in this area and finding others that have rude and cold office staff, these folks won me over, and when I got there, they proved their ability to be not only professional but light and humorous as well. This place is something you do not find much of anymore, I can not say enough about the staff and how caring and considerate Dr. Z is. I am so glad I kept calling and checking around. Don't look any further in this town to find a specialist like this, there are none than can hold a candle to these great folks. A wonderful clinic with efficient and helpful staff. I have ordered several pairs of orthotics and they have all been made of great quality. There was a small issue with the last set and the doctor sent them back to the manufacture without a problem. They were promptly returned and perfect. Also had a pair of compression stocking prescribed and they were perfect. The clinic only stocks and prescribes the best quality products. Dr. Wenzel was able to diagnose two incomplete fractures in my ankle. Tripped over a shoe and had some swelling and pain. Urgent care doctor said there was nothing there but after 4 weeks and residual pain I happened to mention to Dr. Wenzel when in for an unrelated appointment. She quickly took xrays and I returned to work in a walking boot. Both Dr. Kajanga and Dr. Wenzel are very knowledgable and personable. I would recommend to anyone. They along with their staff is super caring and professional. read more

Dr. Kajgana is extremely experienced, a stellar person, and an outstanding surgeon. Though he is professional and exceedingly well versed in everything he treats, he is warm and kind. He knows exactly what he is talking about; his soothing and reassuring confidence is built on years of fixing foot problems all day, every day. He identified both my issues, outlined my choices, and advocated the least invasive and least expensive. He spends all the time I need to understand what he is saying and he answers all my questions without rushing me. He is clear, straightforward, and honest. When he has to tell me something I don't want to hear, he looks me right in the eyes and tells me what to genuinely expect. No evasion or misleading or minimizing. Moreover, Dr KJ is personable, intelligent, easy to talk with and genuinely cares about his patients. He actually personally called me at home before surgery and after surgery to ensure I was comfortable and recovering well. His office is staffed with caring, friendly, and supportive people that get you answers or what you need. They actually answer the phone and they actually follow up and call you back. I have a foot ulcer that Dr K has been treating for 3 months. He has never once cleaned or flushed it, which I now know is standard procedure. When it became reinfected (swelling, redness, puss, odor), he would not prescribe antibiotics nor do anything else to alleviate the infection or pain. I finally went to my primary who immediately put me on antibiotics and sent me to a wound care specialist. I am doing much better now and the wound has healed over in 1 week. I have found a new podiatrist who really seems to know what he is doing. read more

I saw the foot doctor Zarko Kajgana for the first time in April of 2019. I waited in his office for more than 30 minutes before he showed up. looked like he was on a hurry and wanted to get out as fast as he could. He diagnosed my foot issue and told me that he was going to write a prescription for me. But he left so fast that he forgot to write the prescription. I thought he will send the Rx directly to my pharmacy. But on his way out the door he told me to see him next month. After a few days I checked with my pharmacy to see if they got the Rx ready. They told me that they never received an Rx from this foot doctor for me. I had to call his office to send the Rx to the pharmacy. Next month I went and saw him again. This time he diagnosed the same foot issue completely differently as he forgot that at the first visit he diagnosed it differently. He told me that I have to wear a boot and had his assistant come in and put a boot on my foot while I was still sitting on the chair. He also told me to come back and see him again the following month. I took the boot home and wore it inside my house for 3 days while wearing a regular shoe on my other foot as they had told me to do so. But this boot not only did not solve my foot issue it produced pain in my hip and back. I returned it back to their office and explained to them that this boot is causing me additional pain. Office staff didn't want to take it back and were telling me that I just keep it and insurance will be paying for it. I told them that they have a contract with Insurance that the patients have 30 days to try it and they have the right to return it if it is not working for them. Only after that explanation they took the useless boot back. After two months they sent me a bill to copy for my visit. I called and spoke to their office manager regarding this bill. She said that they didn't have all my insurance information that would've covered the copay even though I gave them all my insurance cards during my first visit before seeing the foot doctor. I told her to let me speak to the doctor to complain about his staff's substandard performance. She told me that the foot doctor will not take or return calls. I told her that I will file a complaint about this business and the way they practice with the department of health and BBB. I gave her my insurance information over the phone again and wished her a good weekend. About 10 minutes after I hanged up I received a call from a Vancouver police officer saying that the foot doctor office called them and reported that I was going to the foot doctors house because of this bill. I told the officer that I didn't even know this doctors house or his address. However I told the officer that I was planning to file a complaint with the Department of Health and other authorities regarding the foot doctor and the way they practice. I do not recommend this foot doctor and their business to anyone. Avoid this business all together. read more

Dr Kajgana performed two surgeries on my right foot in the last 15 months. I am 90% healed now from the last and both surgeries could not have gone better. Dr K is a terrific surgeon, and he's very personable. He explained every foot issue and the steps to correct them extremely clearly. I had complete confidence in his abilities from the get go. My surgeries corrected 4 hammer toes, a Morton neuroma, and serious pain in the ball of my foot which required two bones to be shortened. Now I'm back to ballroom dancing and that's remarkable considering the multiple painful foot problems that brought me to him in the first place. A++++, and Thank you sincerely, Dr Kajgana. read more

Be warned, the clinic staff here will give you misleading, incorrect information about certain services and supplies in relation to what your insurance will cover. I was told orthotics were 100% covered by my insurance (I never asked about orthotics and from what I had heard from many people felt like they probably wouldn't work) so I decided to give them a try. They were horrible and ended up in my garbage. I got my bill and had been charged the full cost of the orthotics which was a couple hundred dollars!!! The billing/office staff would not budge on taking the cost of these useless items I never asked for off my bill. It's quite a racket they've got going on there. They have lost me as a patient and I will never refer anyone there again. read more

Every time I come here I'm always impressed with how painless and easy everything is. I was visiting this place to take care of my ingrown toenails. I had two ingrown toenails one on the big toe of each foot. I previously had my nails removed by other physicians and the pain and struggle was becoming too much. I was at my wits end to find a doctor who would be able to fix my reoccurring ingrowns for good... and then I meet Zarko, one of the surgeons at ankle and foot. All I can say is that I wish I had more foot problems so he could address them . He's basically the foot whisperer. When I told him I was nervous about the clipping noises he said to put music on. Boy did that help. We started talking about music and before I knew it the two feet were wrapped up and I was on my way out the door. They called to check up on me after a couple days and everything was going smoothly. Again I just went for my last visit to touch base with Zarko and to do a permanent toenail removal (my last one). This man is a master at applying anesthetic. I felt nothing and we bonded even further over music and Belgian beer. This place is the holy temple of foot clinics. Go here!! read more

If I could give them a zero star, I would. I was scheduled to see a doctor, and I was called that day to ask if I could schedule another time because the doctor needed to go to a meeting. I had already taken time off of work, so no, I couldn't change the time. Someone else had to see me. They suggested I get custom made inserts for my shoes. When I called to inquire about how much I would pay after insurance, they said they'd let me know. I never heard from them again about it. I also never received a bill, and after several months, I called to make sure it wasn't lost in the mail.They said my account was up to date, and I owed nothing. I got a bill in the mail about one year after I was seen. I paid it. Here it is a year and four months after I was seen, and they have sent me another bill. There is no reason they should take so long to send a bill. I would absolutely never recommend this place. read more
