If I could give it 0 stars I would. Through the website I found out they take my insurance, just to double check I called and they confirmed they indeed take my insurance so i booked my appointment for today. (I spoke with LUPE). Today, I get a call one hour and a half before my appointment with them telling me they don't take my insurance even though I double checked with them and that if want to go would be out of pocket. What!!! It's a total ripoff!! So now I wont be able to be checked by a doctor today but on top of it I lost a day of work because I adjusted my schedule in order to go... ALL because of their incompetence and because they are obviously trying to scam people. (As you can see by their reply, accountability ZERO! The person I talked in the phone (Lupe) said SHE made the mistake and instead of writing all the insurance information she just input "blue cross blue shield" without adding anything specific and yet still I made the appointment a week ago, sending a copy of my insurance a week ago, yet they wAited until an hour before the appointment making me lose a day of work because of their mistake??? Cash price what?? I came to this clinic for a couple pairs of new orthotics. They cost the typical price, about $800, which was partially covered by insurance. The orthotics needed to be adjusted several times, to get them to fit properly. Each time I returned for an adjustment, each appointment within 1 month of initially receiving them, I was charged a co-pay. I felt like I was being charged to correct something that should have been guaranteed to fit. Basically, they charged me and my insurance each time to send the orthotics back to the lab to be adjusted. And each time my orthotics were sent out, they took about 2 weeks to get back to the clinic. On top of this, the clinic seems to occasionally over charge. I end up with some credits on my account, which I was never told about. They did not offer to issue a refund check. Which reminds me, it's been more than a year since my last visit and according to my health insurance they still owe me a credit. They've never contacted me about this, basically leaving it up to me to track my refund down. On a positive note, Dr Glick and Dr Tsatsos did an excellent job informing and educating me about my foot structural issues. They gave me a lot of information on how to find shoes that fit and don't exacerbate my issues. read more

So I have been coming to see Dr Christina since October 2021. Hands down she is fabulous, the staff I interact with are great , kind, courteous and helpful. (Lupe, Sasha, Erica and other lovely female I am slipping on her name). Here is my disenchantment: I saw my doc Feb 1st after they converted to new software Athena. In the process I wasn't billed until a few days later while they get things organized and here is what occurred: A) I joined the portal and paid online B) no one informed me it would say when billed "Jefferson" on my banking statements. As a result: C) my bank called and questioned the charge (yay to my bank). Since I didn't know who "Jefferson" was I too,was suspicious. I didn't understand where that charge came from. As a result the bank deposited my 60 dollar copay back to me temporarily while they investigate. I also did my own investigation and immediately found out it was the clinic . As a result I called the bank back and told them that it was a legitimate charge and the charge went through and I have the bank slips to prove it which I demonstrated to Erica at the office. Erica kept my bank copy to load in my electronic portal. She was totally great about it and was waiting for somebody named Leo to handle the issue. To date , I have not gotten a call back from Leo. So I called myself just now and spoke to Arieb who unfortunately couldn't help me and that Leo is gone for the day. And I would have to wait for him to come back. Come back when and from where? I sent a concern to the portal weeks before my appointment last week, I uploaded my statements that way on the portal, then at my appointment last week Tuesday . please note: I do understand it's Covid times and we are short staffed everywhere as a healthcare practitioner myself. However, This is a charge from February guys , And the bank slips demonstrate that it was taken out of my account. What are we waiting for ? Keep sending me statements that I owe when I don't? Received one today and it threw me out for a disappointed loop. Overall still 4 stars for my care with dr Christina because she is absolutely wonderful and the girls are as well. Not so much for billing. Recommendation: have the billing person handle questionable items in a timely manner to prevent ongoing billing statements that my account is past due when it is not. Also a little caveat: ensure you notify the patients of how charges are pulled out electronically from a patient portal so they don't suspect suspicious activity. Main concern is those elderly and older patients who may not be savvy at billing and such.I would be disappointed if this ever crossed someone who cannot navigate billing issues with their providers . This can cause a patient to not return. That's my update for now. read more

I went to see Dr. Glick in August 2020 for pain in my ankle. I was told repeatedly that my insurance covered the services they were rendering me. I ONLY accepted 2 night splints because I was assured over and over again that they were covered by my insurance and I did not have to pay extra. I am unemployed and so is my husband- I specifically told the front desk receptionist and my doctor that I did not want a surprise bill. I received a bill for $425 in September, and have been trying to get this resolved since 9/23/2020. I have called 8 times and each time I try to talk to someone who can help me, I am told they are busy and someone will call me back. No one has called me back this entire time. EDITED TO ADD: It is now May 24, 2022. Back in October 2020, I was assured that the office billed my insurance incorrectly, and that they would resolve the issue. I never received another statement, bill, or any type of correspondence from the office, and assumed the matter was resolved. On May 11, 2022, I received an account statement for $225, and letter saying that if I did not pay the amount in full, that it would be sent to collection. I called the office immediately, and left a voicemail. I called again on 5/12/2022, an was told I'd get a call back. I called on 5/16, 5/20, and 5/23. Today, I got a call from the collection agency. I paid the $225 in order to keep this ordeal from impacting my credit. I am so disgusted by the way this place handles their business. I was lied to, ignored, and reported to a collection agency. They extorted $225 from me. read more

Confession time. I had an affair. I started seeing another podiatrist. It wasn't planned, it sort of just happened; I blame it on YouSwoop. When a YouSwoop came along for a podiatric exam, x-rays and 65% off orthotics, I jumped on it. Several months ago I went to a different podiatrist because of some foot pain, but since then I joined a running group. The increased mileage was creating soreness in places I didn't know existed and left me wanting a second set of orthotics. Getting up at 4:30 AM on Saturdays to run isn't fun, running all over the house at the ass-crack of dawn trying to find the shoes I left my orthotics in sucks. I was a bit disappointed by my first interaction with Ankle-N-Foot. I had traded e-mails with someone who promised to call me and confirm an appointment time, but never did. When I called in for an appointment and noted I would also like to do a video gait analysis (VGA) a service highlighted on their website, knowing I'd have to pay extra. I felt like I was strongly discouraged from it; in the end I didn't get it and it wasn't a big deal, but if you're looking for VGA I might go somewhere else. My appointment with Dr. Zats went wonderfully; she and her staff are extremely friendly. We started out with a basic exam and decided that it would be best for Dr. Zats to make everyday orthotics for me and to use my existing pair for running. She gave me several options, and recommended the best liner for my sweaty feet. She also said she could make this pair even more versatile than my current pair, awesome! Dr. Zats also gave me some tips on what type of running shoe I need, my current ones, when worn with orthotics, are overcompensating for my flat feet, which may be the source of some of my soreness and pain. After the exam, I did the digital imaging for the orthotics. I've had several pairs of custom orthotics, but this is the first set that didn't involve casting. I liked it, my feet are so ticklish that it's hard for me to sit still while during the casting process. All I had to do was walk across a mat a few times and it scanned my feet and displaying where I was applying various degrees of pressure and to what extent. My new orthotics are great and as promised they fit into even more dress and work shoes than my other pair. Will I leave my other podiatrist for Ankle-N-Foot? I'm not sure, at this point I don't have to choose, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dr. Zats and staff. TIP: If you're a runner, bring your running shoes in for your exam. When your orthotics come in bring one or two pairs of shoes you expect to wear them in so they can check the fit. read more

Don't go here. After twisting my ankle pretty badly I found this place on Yelp and set up an appointment. In order to try to keep costs down, I emailed the receptionist my insurance information and asked how much my visit (basic check up to assess and ankle damage/ injury) would cost me out of pocket. I was told that my cost would be nothing and that my insurance would cover it all. Dr. Zats was really nice and while she couldn't determine the cause of my ankle injury, she recommended that I purchase some orthotic insoles. AGAIN, being conscious of cost, I asked her how much they would be. She said that IF my insurance didn't cover them (it was a big IF) that they would cost me $45 out of pocket. I agreed to take them with me. So, this means that my visit should have cost me a maximum of $45, assuming that my insurance didn't cover the cost of the insoles. Fast forward to one month later- I get a bill for $350+ which includes my visit and $85 for my orthotic insoles. When I called to complain I was basically told (by the same receptionist who I told me that my visit would be covered by my insurance) that what she MEANT to say was that any costs incurred within my visit could be counted toward my deductible. After a long back and forth with the clinic and the Better Business Bureau my bill was brought down to $155. This is still $110 more than I had agreed to, so I feel ripped off. Do yourself a favor- skip this place. read more

I went this morning for my first visit to Ankle N Foot Centers and met with Dr. Rivera. The experience was extremely positive. Dr. Rivera was both personable and professional, gave me a detailed understanding of my diagnosis, a realistic understanding of the options for treatment, and went above and beyond in terms of offering follow-up support. I am also braced these days for a doctor (office) to push expensive options but that didn't happen at all. Dr. Rivera clearly had a lot of integrity, caring, and patience in terms of offering detailed explanations -- just what I'm looking for in any kind of a doctor. I highly recommend. read more

I cannot say enough great things about this place. I had been referred to another podiatrist for a broken foot, but there was a three day wait so I was pointed in Dr. Rivera's direction. I was able to get in the same day and received top notch service from Dr. Rivera, Michelle, and Roxanna. I visited two offices throughout my experience and both were always extremely clean and organized. I was told I would need surgery and the doctor took time to go through all steps of the procedure, allowed ample time for questions, and reassured me all would go well. He was available by cell phone, if needed, and treated me like his only patient. 6 months later and my x-rays show nearly 100% repair! I know Dr. Rivera's surgical methods worked wonders. He explained he does his surgery a little differently and it allows him to have better results. I wholeheartedly agree and would recommend him to anyone looking for an amazing podiatrist. read more

In 2014 I had a mixed martial arts related foot injury that left me with 3 broken metatarsals. Dr. Zats saved my foot after a botched cast work done by another "Podiatrist". She was very professional and used MRIs and X-Rays to give the best diagnosis and care plan and knew exactly what the healing process should look like. She explained to me in detail the diagnosis, her concerns, and provided me with options for care, weighing the pros and cons of each. Dr. Zats may also have saved *my life* - when I came to visit she warned me about calf pain while in the cast and that it could be due to a blood clot formation from lack of movement and decreased circulation. At the time I didn't have a pain and didn't think much of it, but about a week later I felt a slight pain, something that I would otherwise ignore. I remembered Dr. Zats' warning and called the office to ask: she said to go immediately to the ER. It was discovered that I indeed had a blood clot, and I was put on blood thinners. If not caught blood clots can travel to the lungs and cause death within hours. THANK YOU DR. ZATS! The podiatrist at the ER (RUSH) misdiagnosed me with a Lisfranc injury and recommended to put a screw in my foot. I am so glad Dr. Zats intervened because she did not diagnose a Lisfranc and turns out after an additional MRI that she was right and saved me from an unnecessary surgery. Dr. Zats, really cares about her patients, and maintains communication via email. She provided a treatment plan after I was all healed but had a non-union, and I am happy to say that I have been fully healed, pain free, and back to safely practicing martial arts thanks to her! The staff at Ankle N Foot Center (west loop) is no less impressive, and all provided with great care as soon as I stepped through the door. Thanks for reading my story :) but seriously, this may be the #1 podiatrist out there - I would probably never go to anyone else as long as I'm in Chicago. Highly recommended! read more

I have to say Dr. Zats is awesome! She does not make you feel like an airhead and she explains everything in detail, which I love. So extra brownie points for her! Basically a YouSwoop coupon came along and I just had to buy it. The deal was great and I thought hell why not; I get a podiatric exam, x-rays, and 65% off orthotics. So I should do it! My feet always hurt and somethings gotta give. I've had a lot of foot pain after my accident and thought this would be a perfect stop to a lot of pain. I tried the ugly "healthy" shoes and the gym shoes and special excises but nothing helped so Dr. Zats was my last resort. So now I've been to see Dr. Zats three times and things are great. I was a bit disappointed with the staff there at first. My first appointment was supposed to be at the West Loop office at 7 in the morning and I get there on time and its down pouring outside and I wait and I wait and I knock on the door and still wait. Then finally at 8 the lady lets me in and says' "Oh Dr. Zats does not work at this office today. Your appointment is for the Belmont office. Here's the number there." So I call there all pissed off cause I had to wake up extra early and get stupidly soaked in the rain. The lady there says, "Oh we're sorry lets reschedule you." Boy, I was pissed off. Anyways, I finally got a new appointment, saw the doctor, and she turned out to be the nicest and most helpful doctor ever. I just could not be mad anymore. She carefully listened to all my foot problems, helped me understand (in detail, with pictures and stuff) what happened to my feet after my accident and what I needed to do to help my feet from all the pain. I've gone to her a few times now and the pain in my feet has gone down a lot. We even created the custom orthotics for me to wear everyday so the pain would go down after time. She was cool enough you order me a pair of orthotics that I can wear with my dress shoes and gym shoes. I would totally recommend Dr. Zats to my friends and family. Just make sure you double check where your appointment is. They do have 3 locations and the doctor is at a different location everyday. read more

I just got a Groupon in my inbox for Ankle N Foot centers and upon my arrival to the deal page, I see that Yelpers have awarded less than 3 stars. Now I use Yelp a lot, a whole lot... but I'm not a big reviewer unless an establishment really makes an impression. Ankle N Foot deserves such a better rating & I felt compelled to let people know, lest they hobble off in another direction due to these sad stars. Now a summer ago, I had a drink or 5 too many and took a little spill. My foot was grotesque and huge, and frozen corn wasn't helping. Ankle N Foot was the closest non-emergency room food doctor I could find, and after 3 days of hopping around I gave in. I recall being able to get in right away and saw Dr. Zats. I loved her friendly demeanor right away, as she had a laugh at my story and at my wishful thinking that maybe it was just a twisted ankle. Turns out that I had a Jones fracture (well actually a few fractures) in my 5th metatarsal. The bone had a bone to pick with me apparently, and did not heal on it's own after it got a vacation from walking for a couple weeks. Dr. Zats decided I needed to get screwed. She scheduled the surgery and did the procedure herself at an outside hospital. All healed quickly and perfectly! A year later I'm at the gym 5 days a week with my screw scar, and the bone is as good as the day before the SoCo stumble. Let me note that I only visited the Belmont location and had no trouble with insurance, or any receptionists, or scheduling... go see Dr. Zats!!! read more

I purchased an Amazon Local deal for a medical mani/pedi. Made the appointment for 2:00 pm and arrived promptly at 1:56. The technician answered the door and informed me that it would be a few minutes. At 2:16, I inquired how much longer and was told 10 minutes. Finally at 2:45 I was called in. The technician was nice but this was one awkward manicure. Picture yourself sitting in the spa chair and the tech holding your hand and painting your nails. The pedicure was not very comfortable either. It will be a long time before I have another mani/pedi in these conditions, or never. Most likely never. read more

I work out alot and depend on healthy "footwork"as I do Martial Arts. When I hurt my foot and googled Podiatrists this place came up. Fist off I dislike going to any Dr or having any limitations put on me. It seems they always give you the "Bums Rush" and its on to the next patient. From when I walked in the door the staff was professional, I didn't wait too long, ....and got in to see Dr. Zats. After the initial exam and subsequent x-ray it was determined I had a fracture! The Doc showed me on the X-Ray and it was a spiral fracture which is evidently a bit more complicated in healing. I got the walking boot and 2 weeks of RX of ultra sound / elec stim. I have to be honest and admit.... I didn't stay off my foot like I was directed otherwise the healing would of been faster. It has now been 6 months or so and my foot is completely healed..... I would say that for any foot ailment I will gladly return to this place as Dr. Zats and the staff that did the RX seemed sincere and appeared to care about my condition. read more

I went to see Dr. Zats for foot pain I was suffering while running. One of the reasons I selected the Ankle N Foot Center is that they had a history of treaing runners and triathletes. When I arrived Dr. Zats took the time to understand how the injury occurred and my past history of any foot or ankle issues I had experienced while running. My injury was diagnosed as paroneal tendonits in my left foot and I was prescribed treatments of ultrasound and electric-stimulus therapy for 3 weeks (8 treatments) and light running. They were able to easily accommodate early appointments or late so it didn't interfere with my work schedule. I was also fitted for orthotics - using an modern tools and not a plaster casting - it was simple and quick to do. Based on my treatment and orthotics, I ran my 4th marathon in May and haven't had any recurring issues with my foot! read more

I've received a lot of treatment from this location in the last year. The location is great for me and they have a convenient schedule for appointments so I don't have to lose time at work. If for some reason the schedule doesn't work, they have other locations, one of which I've visited and the care was consistent and overall pleasant experiences. One thing I like is that they took a homeopathic approach to my treatment to start instead of just jumping straight to surgery. read more

I have to first say Dr. Zats is awesome. However her office staff sucks. Plain and simple. They sell you custom orthotics. They are fabulous.. don't get me wrong. They'll PROMISE you your insurance will pay for them. They'll order them Charge you $100 to "fit them in your shoe." and in the end you will get a bill for $500 for these things. The billing clerk will NEVER return your phone calls or emails. It will go to collection and then you will have it on your credit report. This happened to me as well as my friend who referred me there. It is very sad, because the Dr. herself is awesome. She offers great care and service. I originally went to visit the "Ankle N Foot Centers" because I was feeling lots of pain in my feet. I thought some custom made orthotics would help aleviate the pain I was feeling. Dr. Zats tended to my concerns and evaluated my pain, and my very flat feet. The orthotics worked great! Not only did they aleviate the pain in my feet they also relieved the pain in my hip and my shoulder. After running the Chicago marathon I was very grateful for the time and attention to detail the doctor paid to my ailments. The staff also was very friendly and helpful in helping me schedule appointments and explaining charges for services. I actually have a follow-up visit, and highly recommend the Ankle N Foot Centers. read more

I injured a couple of ligaments on the lateral (outside) side of my right ankle. After about a week of pain, waiting to see if it would get better, I went to Ankle and Foot Centers. Dr. Zats was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. After my initial and follow up visit, I was in a bit less pain, but not as little as she (or I) had hoped. Dr. Zats suggested I begin PT (electric stim and ultrasound) to help progress the healing. She said that she was recommending a minimum of 6 sessions, but if I felt good before the 6, I could stop early. I had 4 sessions of PT over 2 weeks, and I'm feeling great. I did not have the remaining 2 sessions (which again, was recommended by Dr. Zats). I would highly recommend her and would go to the office again if I have any further foot or ankle problems. read more

However, I want to praise Dr. Rachel Glick, who has been immeasurably helpful to me in recovering from a non-union spiral fracture of my right foot fifth metatarsal. Dr. Glick says that she treats patients, not x-rays, and she has made it possible for me to avoid surgery on this foot even though the x-rays looked lousy. Her kindness, good sense, humor, and down-to-earth qualities have made me feel that I could heal and that I could improve, and that I was not insane to try to avoid foot surgery. She has been supportive and helpful in every way, is a concerned and careful listener, and spends a lot of time with her patients from what I can discern. I cannot thank her enough. read more

I called another location who gave me directions to the wrong location. The whole experience started off bad but i called the Belmont location and they told me to not worry and come in. I went in because of heel pain. Dr. Zats was wonderful! She explained my problem in great detail. I had plantar fasciitis and needed a cortisone shot. I was given a night splint and therapy to prevent further damage. She gave me all the information I needed and answered all my questions. This was my second visit. I had previously visited the doctor to get fitted for inserts. I really like this doctor and I will definitely visiting again. read more

I broke my ankle and brought in a CD with x-rays from the ER. They lost it. I had 3 appointments there and they claimed they couldn't find the CD even though it was there on my second appointment. I called them and they promised to call back when they found it and never called me back. I also got dropped from this place because I wasn't healing and the doctor I was seeing (Dr Glick) didn't know what to do so she just told me to see a surgeon. In my opinion all they can do is give you a walking boot and hope for the best, but if you need real medical advice go somewhere else especially if you have a broken bone. read more

This review is long overdue. Dr.Rivera and his team have been seeing me for almost a year and they are quite amazing. I originally went in when I was 7 months pregnant and my foot was so swollen I couldn't walk. My OB doctor warned me that most foot doctor's would dismiss me because "swollen feet in pregnancy is common" so I was nervous to see a foot doctor. After doing some foot therapy my foot immediately felt better. The whole team including Michelle and Roxana are so helpful and flexible ensuring I am getting everything I need. After having my baby I did some X-Rays which confirmed the bone in my foot was broken and we discussed some alternate routes besides surgery. I am so thankful Dr.Rivera didn't dismiss me because I was pregnant and he truly listened to the pain I was having. I truly trust Dr.Rivera and his team and look forward to being back on my feet again! read more

My husband does not get online at all, but asked to write a review for Doc Rivera on his behalf. My husband has very bad rheumatoid arthritis and his feet are severely deformed despite previous foot surgeries. He had gone to other podiatrists and they basically say there was nothing they could do for him, other than customized orthotics. Doc Rivera at least gave him some suggestions about different wedges he could put in his shoes to lessen the pain and cuts his calluses and told him to call whenever he was struggling with pain again, very caring and sympathetic with my husband's pain. He also gets an appointment promptly and feel s he gets really good service. Doc Rivera has been added to his list of doctors. Thank you Doc Rivera. read more

We had a bad couple of weeks between my 9 year old spraining her ankle, followed by my husband breaking his the next week! We were recommended to foot and ankle by a friend and couldn't be happier. Dr Rivera was awesome with my little one. She was scared going in, but he quickly made her feel at ease. He is SO nice... Everyone at the office is great, especially Michelle - Mu husband was happy everything was done at their offices - we didn't need to go somewhere else for the cast.. Dr. Z is great! I found this place on Yelp and made an apt after having months of foot pain. They were very professional, thorough and explained everything very well. I did physical therapy for a few weeks so I was there about a dozen times and always had a great experience with the staff. My insurance paid for everything, and I never felt like they were doing any unnecessary treatments or procedures. I will definitely be back to manage my foot pain. read more

After two visits with Dr. Mariano Rivera, and his assistant Roxanna, I will never use another podiatrist - if possible. Dr. Rivera is as professional, as kind, as thorough, and as helpful as any human being could be. I had a small piece of glass embedded in the bottom of my foot. It was there over a month. After going to an Urgent Care Center (a clear mistake) where they tried but could not help I went to the Advocate Masonic Hospital ER on Wellington, and had the good fortune to meet Dr. Rivera's 2nd year podiatry resident. She did excellent work figuring it out and even better yet referring me to him. We are still working on my healing, and making great progress. Please trust me - after five children and living with healthcare in six different cities the past 30 years - when I say that he and his staff are the very best. They are the best! I sprained my ankle last week and stopped in. They pretty much saw me right away. The doctor took the time to explain what was wrong and even noticed old injuries. I was having some issues this morning so I stopped back in and again they saw me right away and fixed the issue. read more

This is very poor Service Company where they sent me to get a CAT scan that from molecular Imaging they couldn't read cats can I left work to come there to go over the skin with the doctor wasn't able to read the scan so I wasted time from work as well as time and paying a co-pay that I didn't need to. Upon calling to try to schedule something I don't get return calls back poor poor service! ! read more

Dr. Rivera is amazing. Explains things well and he is very hands on with his approach. I just wish that they had warned me that the anti inflamatory treatment might not be covered by insurance. Mine didn't cover it, but it was still worth it. I will be back for any foot pain I have. read more
