I went to Ankle N foot center in July of last year because of pain in my left foot. Dr. Zats diagnosed me with Plantar fasciitis. I had my recommended 8 sessions of therapy and my foot feels 100%. Dr. Svetlana Zats is the best doctor on earth. She is the best podiatrist on earth but also the best doctor. I give her 10 stars and that is not enough. I needed major reconstructive surgery of the front of my right foot. I am 63 and could not find a podiatrist to do the surgery. I saw abt 3 podiatrists in Chicago abt my right foot and they could not help me. My big right toe was pointing out at abt a 30 degree angle with my foot and my 4 little toes were hammer toes. I have neurapothy and I am transgender and on estrogen. The case was very complicated. The surgery was March 21, 2016 at Illinois Masonic. It took 4 hours under general anesthesia. I wore a bandage for two weeks, cast for six weeks, boot with and without crutches for 4 weeks, and gym shoes for 1 week. Finally back to socks only. During week 1 I ended up in Illinois Masonic's emergency room with minor pneumonia(?) and was put on antibiotics. I had diarrhea and ended up with a minor case of shingles. I was at Dr. Zats office twice that week for unscheduled follow ups. She sent me to my PCP for a possible C-Diff infection. She is 100% thorough. During week 2 she did what few doctors in this country will do. She came to my apartment and changed my bandage. She made a house call. During the whole time we sent messages back and forth by Wickr Me abt my foot. I sent her easily abt 50 pics in total so she could judge my progress. She always wrote back and told me what to do. She is very passionate abt her work. Her staff is outstanding. Michelle, Leo, Carlos, Nadia, Lee, and others are all great. The service they give is 5 stars. I could go on for 50 pages. The best thing to do is to go see Dr. Zats abt your foot. You will then understand what I mean. read more

Let's just say i've seen a quite a few doctors over the years concerning my terrible feet. Terrible hammer toes and an arch so high that most Podiatrists want to take a picture of it because it's so extreme. I had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Zats on the off chance due to a bad ankle sprain early last year. After getting healed and wanting an opinion on a permanent fix for my feet she suggested an option that no other doctor i had seen suggested. Fixing my hammer toes and explaining how a quick procedure with a relatively quick recovery time could alleviate most of my issues. She talked me off the ledge of wanting to fix the whole foot (break and reset the heal, yada yada yada, 8 month recovery time including PT). The staff and doctors here have been amazing. I can't say enough nice things about them and their work ethic. Dr. Zats has been phenomenal and always answers all my questions with her cheerful and excited attitude. Her colleague Dr. Hernandez is great as well, having to see her a few times when Dr. Zats had to be called in for surgery. She even checked in on me when I wasn't supposed to see because she wanted to see how i was doing after surgery. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone who needs a good Podiatrist. I HIGHLY recommend coming here and seeing Dr. Zats! She is the best doctor I have ever had- very personable, relatable, comforting, thorough and caring. I saw Dr. Zats in November for a bunion that started causing a lot of pain. She provided me with many different options but was honest with me about needing surgery for a permanent fix. I waited until January to have the surgery with Dr. Zats and she did an amazing job. Everything went great - I've had minimal pain and have been healing faster than normal. I was in a boot for 4 weeks and recently switched to a gym shoe. Each time I see her & her staff, they truly show how much they care and I feel very comfortable with them. My recovery will only be 7-8 weeks which is amazing for bunion surgery, and it's all thanks to Dr. Zats and her team! read more

Made appointment on the phone. the lady was nice who gave me the bio of the doctors and availability, etc. But when we arrived, i was told I didn't have an appointment. Roxanna, her assistant, made every possible effort to get me the help I needed despite recalcitrant insurance and primary care physician issues. Brought my son here for a stubborn foot infection. Our family doctor advised over the counter meds. After months of no progress I didn't have confidence that the family practice would solve the problem if we returned. Found Ankle n Foot from fellow yelpers and must give thanks for they are truly excellent! Got a same day appointment. Friendly, professional office staff. Dr. Zats was shocked at the lack of care we had received from our family practice physician. She took cultures for lab tests and gave samples of prescription meds while waiting for the results. Saw immediate improvement! Lab test show the infection requires prescription meds. Have full confidence that his foot will make a full recovery to normal. Dr. Zats is wonderful! I have gone to Dr. Zats now for about 3 weeks with an injury to my posterior tibial tendon. She and the physical therapists and the staff have been nothing short of great. I work downtown and their early hours of 7 am for p.t. are ideal. The treatment is exceptional, and their calls the afternoon before the appointment are so helpful. I highly recommend them for foot problems. This office cannot be trusted to tell you the truth on your benefits coverage. I was with the doctor and was told in person by one of the employees that had just called my insurance I was covered for custom orthodics. I went ahead and ordered based on this information, otherwise I wouldn't have. Six months later they send in my claim and my insurance company rejects it saying the diagnosis codes they used weren't covered. I called the office and asked to resubmit with the correct codes and they refused to make any changes. When I was told I was covered in the office I had no idea what diagnosis codes were, that is not something I should have to worry about. I am now stuck with a huge bill for something this office lied to me about and they refuse to make it right. They clearly value money over their clients and will lie to your face to make a buck. I have no issues with the doctors, but the business practices of this office are crooked. Trust me, you've been warned. read more

I had the condition of a recurring swollen knee and joint problems after heavy basketball games. A couple of months ago, I went there to see Dr. Mariano Rivera upon recommendation. He immediately spotted the length difference between my legs. He followed a systematic and sound approach. He answered all my questions in great detail and took his time to examine and take care of my condition and gained my trust. Overall he was very nice and helpful. I recommend this place and Dr. Rivera to all my friends. Now I am wearing orthotics from them and my knees and joints feel much better. Dr. Zats is such a wonderful podiatrist. About a year ago, I got foot injury on a bus. A big tall man stepped on my foot. After that, I have been limping for almost a year. As I was fairly new to Chicago, it was difficult for me to find a good doctor as I did not really know the city. I went to see several doctors, went through injections, pills, laser therapy, shockwave therapy, acupuncture and 8 months of physical therapy. I gradually got a bit better but still struggling. It was so frustrating. My good leg became thicker than my injured one. My injured heel kept on swollen no matter how much painkiller I take. I went on Yelp and saw good reviews about Ankle N Foot Center. I went to see Dr. Holmbeck first. He suggested me to see Dr. Zats for PRP treatment. Dr. Zats tried to be cautious. She suggested me to wear a certain type of Nike shoes with insert. At first, I was a bit annoyed about the new shoes. However, after a few days, I started to notice improvement. I think Dr. Zats a much better doctor after seeing so many doctors in both Chicago and Beijing, China. Some doctors might be good but simply don't care that much. Dr. Zats was very thorough and took time to explain things to me. I decided to go ahead with PRP treatment, hoping for a total recovery. Other staff like Michele and Leo were all very helpful. I just did the PRP treatment yesterday. The procedure went through smoothly. Now I am on crutches but I do feel fine. Will report again after a few weeks if any significant improvement (hopefully)! PRP is alternative medical treatment. Maybe I can be the lucky one to be 100% good. read more

If I could give NO stars for my experience I absolutely would. DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE! They are EXTREMELY unprofessional. Very unhappy with my monthly ordeal. I ended up seeing another practice. They do not even route their calls through the actual 225 S Jefferson office. When you call for help you are speaking with someone from a call center. I was promised to have my test results in a week. 2 weeks went by with NO results. I had to call back every day for a week, and each time I was told someone would call back by the end of the business day.. NOPE! After 2 weeks of back and fourth it turns out the lab sent the results to a wrong address 3 times. After the results were sorted out I made an appointment to review them with another doctor and when I arrived at the office it was LOCKED. Lights off. NO ONE INSIDE. I called the number on the building and the person who answered the phone ensured they would figure out what was going on and call me back right away.. NOPE! I waited outside for 20 mins and called the . number back. I was routed to a different receptionist who made up some story that the office door was broke and the office was open. I refuse to pay for services rendered. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AT THIS OFFICE. read more
