This was by far the worst massage I have ever had. The woman's technique was to abruptly pinch my flesh or use her forearm for the entire massage. Her forearm up and down and up and down my back. She repeatedly ran her forearm painfully over my spine. And when it came to the hot stones, she pulled them so forcefully up my back, that they crashed into the base of my skull. Repeatedly. Not only was it not relaxing, I am now in more excruciating pain than I was when I walked in. There is no way that these people are properly trained. I made an appointment and asked for at least one female. When we got there, the same lady greeted us and showed us our room. She was very sweet and accommodating. She even asked ahead of time what pressure we wanted, so she could tell the masseurs before they started. My mom and I both loved the massages from start to finish. When I made the appointment I asked for females and when I got there they were trying to have a male massage my girlfriend and I wasn't going to have that so I said I would take the male so she didn't have too. Idk if this guy was new or what but he did not know what he was doing. He would just use his thumb into different spots on my back and put so much pressure with all his weight and it was very painful. I've lived down the street from this place for 2 years and can't believe it took me this long to try it out. I try to get massages every few months but sometimes end up going longer than that. I've been having the worst back pain accompanied by sciatic pain for about a week now, and the place I usually go had no availability, so I called this place at 4pm today and was able to make an 8:30pm appointment the same day! I was so nervous because it was my first time there and knew I was taking a chance. My masseuse was Jessie. She was definitely tough on those knots and it was painful at times but in a good way ... anyone who's had a deep tissue massage knows what I mean. I showed her exactly where the pain was and she focused on that but also made sure I left feeling relaxed all over. She got all the knots out and I feel so much better already than when I walked in. I know I'll be sore tomorrow but it'll be worth it. The best part is that I paid less for an hour massage + tip than I do at my usual place, before the tip! I cut the session to 30 minutes because it was just so bad he obviously is not licensed and was just rubbing my body and doing nothing but using his shoulder. Just a very horrible experience. I base my tip on the skill of the masseuse and what I can afford. Twice now when paying, the person at the desk has said I did not tip enough and said next time do better. You are the employer. Pay a decent wage. I paid for my services. It's not my job to make sure the employee gets paid for working hard. That's your responsibility. I asked for hard pressure, that was my first mistake when getting a massage from someone who doesn't really know the body, I got the full arsenal, elbows, forearms and every other bony appendage digging into the most tender areas of my back, the spinal column should just be an off limits area for any elbow, she was playing mine like a xylophone.
