I recently went to a consultation with Dr. Tamara Fountain to see what she could do about my under eye bags. She told me all i needed was a good med spa and, while she didn't know her personally, she was impressed with Dr. Amy Taub's work. I looked up Dr. Taub and was excited to see she was right in my backyard at Advanced Dermatology. I called to make an appointment and they told me she wasn't seeing new patients for at least the next year. Never deterred I called their other location in Lincolnshire and they fit me in for a consultation later that month. During the consultation I met with Dr. Taub's lovely and very informative assistant and then Dr. Taub herself. They gave a recommendation for filler (which I've always been afraid of, but figured worth a shot) and scheduled me in the Glencoe office for a few weeks later. Apparently she is only in Glencoe on Thursdays, which is why it can be tough to get an appointment there. Appointment day arrived. I was a little scared of the pain, but figured it couldn't be worse than childbirth. Thanks to Dr. Taub and her amazing staff it didn't hurt at all. They also blow cold air on your face during the process, which felt really good after being outside on a very hot day. I left a little sore with very minimal bruising...and could already notice a big difference within 5 minutes. Dr. Taub didn't use all the filler i had purchased because didn't think i needed it and said the under eye area is very sensitive, but scheduled me for a quick follow up next month to see if i needed more. It was a very quick, painless and successful appointment. I was so impressed with Dr. Taub and the entire staff that I plan to go there for other cosmetic dermatology needs in the future.

She said no, let's watch it. I came back 3 months later and she said let's watch it, again I asked her to remove it. She said no. I decided to change to a new dermatologist after she would not listen to me and the new derm said the mole needs to be removed right away, and another one on my leg. The one I had been told to watch was melanoma stage 0 and the other atypical. I am having a pretty large amount of skin removed now. Dr. Katznelson totally missed this and would not listen to my concerns. Be careful.

The groupon said "60 minute massage" but in reality, it was about 40 minutes. I got there 10 minutes early, as I do for massages, so I could get ready and start on time. My massage was at 2pm, and I got there at 1:50pm. I wasn't taken back to the room until 2:10pm. By the time I had to "sign in" (not sure why??) and the massage therapist left my room, it was 2:15. I was laying on the bed for 5 minutes or so, ready to go, before she came back in. It was 2:20 by the time she started putting ICE COLD LOTION on my back. She then proceeded to talk and talk and talk the entire massage. (Even worse, her talk was about gun violence, terrorism, and how in other countries it's much safer--- NOT RELAXING!) The massage bed was like a slightly padded wooden plank on folding sticks. I thought it was going to break- it was so creaky. And it was SO UNCOMFORTABLE lying on my stomach because there was no padding for my top half. It was painfully uncomfortable. Early on, I asked her to do a little firmer of a massage than what she was doing, so she started using her very sharp elbows in my back and tush muscles. It was so painful! So I asked her a few times to stop- it hurt- and she said "You told me you wanted a firm massage... and now you're complaining!" A "firm massage" does not mean bony elbows digging into my back. I'm just thankful she didn't hurt me. And yes, like the other person... just because they start 20 minutes late for you "60 minute massage" does not mean that they end 20 minutes late. She ended promptly at 3pm. But I was honestly thankful- I couldn't wait for this experience to be over. I left and tipped her generously because honestly, I don't feel like this was her fault- I feel like they hired someone who had not been trained to give a decent massage, and they have not given her the proper experience required of this profession. She seemed like a nice lady, just not trained and not experienced- she shouldn't have been giving massages. Period. Be warned--- this is NOT WORTH IT, even for the price of a groupon!!

I chose to leave an honest review instead so others don't end up in the same situation I am in... Like many women, I have always been unhappy with the state of my stomach. Diet and exercise couldn't seem to give me the flat stomach I desired so I turned to cool sculpting as liposuction seemed to be for more extreme cases and was much more expensive. Upon my initial consultation a really nice woman told me I had a similar body to hers and since my problem area "wasn't too bad" that I should see desired results after one treatment. I proceeded with cool sculpting, and not only was I unhappy with the outcome, the healing process proved very difficult. I was told some "slight tenderness" was in order, but what I had was weeks of lumps under my skin that painfully needed to be rubbed out on several re-visits. It felt like someone was pressing fire onto bruises. I didn't notice anything in the way of results so another very nice woman explained that two treatments were needed, and the woman who told me I only needed one was "let go" for giving me misinformation. I spent $2500 on the first treatment which I was being told would be completely wasted without a second treatment of $2100. The second treatment brought more of the same. Extreme pain to the point that I couldn't sleep on anything but my back, calling into work because I couldn't put on pants due to the painful lumps, dizziness, nausea, and this time a swollen stomach for over three weeks that left me looking 8 months pregnant. The woman who preformed the cool sculpting had me meet with the owner Irfan who insisted my case wasn't normal, and they would contact the rep for the cool sculpting to see what could be done. Since my treatment, the second nice woman has also been let go... I lost ten pounds through diet and exercise from the beginning of my first cool sculpting to the end of my second, and I am left looking larger than I did before I had the procedure done in the first place. It's like I am permanently swollen. After months of back and forth and meeting with another doctor (think about ten extra visits in total for complications and viewings), I was told the only thing they were willing to do was another round of treatment for free. If something caused you the worst pain of your life and to be larger than you were in the first place, would you want to put yourself through that again? I explained I understood I signed something saying that results may vary, but no where did it say I would have REVERSE results and such an incredibly painful healing process/recovery. I'm now out $4600 I saved YEARS for with zero compassion from the owner who viewed my horrific situation himself. In fact one of his emails even said, "If the treatment was so painful why did you opt for second round of treatment," and referred to my pain as "alleged" even though he met me with personally on one of my many visits. I found the entire interaction condescending and unprofessional. He acted as if offering me $300 of my $4600 was so incredibly generous. It wouldn't even cover my missed wages or gas for all my follow up visits. Also, I opted for a second round of treatment the same way women opt for another child. Sure giving birth it is painful, but the results are supposed to be worth it right? I was told I wouldn't see any results without it. My mistake for trusting this practice. Do yourself a favor and save your money. They have zero bedside manner, and if your procedure goes awry, don't expect any kind of compensation or compassion. I would never recommend this place to my worst enemy.
