I completely relate to the review where they thought this entire experience was a prank. I too bought a groupon (there's a reason why this place needs groupons to stay in business) and went for a massage yesterday. The groupon said "60 minute massage" but in reality, it was about 40 minutes. I got there 10 minutes early, as I do for massages, so I could get ready and start on time. My massage was at 2pm, and I got there at 1:50pm. I wasn't taken back to the room until 2:10pm. By the time I had to "sign in" (not sure why??) and the massage therapist left my room, it was 2:15. I was laying on the bed for 5 minutes or so, ready to go, before she came back in. It was 2:20 by the time she started putting ICE COLD LOTION on my back. She then proceeded to talk and talk and talk the entire massage. (Even worse, her talk was about gun violence, terrorism, and how in other countries it's much safer--- NOT RELAXING!) The massage bed was like a slightly padded wooden plank on folding sticks. I thought it was going to break- it was so creaky. And it was SO UNCOMFORTABLE lying on my stomach because there was no padding for my top half. It was painfully uncomfortable. Early on, I asked her to do a little firmer of a massage than what she was doing, so she started using her very sharp elbows in my back and tush muscles. It was so painful! So I asked her a few times to stop- it hurt- and she said "You told me you wanted a firm massage... and now you're complaining!" A "firm massage" does not mean bony elbows digging into my back. I'm just thankful she didn't hurt me. And yes, like the other person... just because they start 20 minutes late for you "60 minute massage" does not mean that they end 20 minutes late. She ended promptly at 3pm. But I was honestly thankful- I couldn't wait for this experience to be over. I left and tipped her generously because honestly, I don't feel like this was her fault- I feel like they hired someone who had not been trained to give a decent massage, and they have not given her the proper experience required of this profession. She seemed like a nice lady, just not trained and not experienced- she shouldn't have been giving massages. Period. Be warned--- this is NOT WORTH IT, even for the price of a groupon!! read more

Had my appointment today, drove 45 minutes here just for them to tell me "oh, sorry we have another patient at 1PM and there just won't be enough time to do it because we have to put the numbing cream on and that is going to take 30 minutes." Like..what?! I had an appointment already made weeks in advance, drove all the way here just for them to tell me that I had to leave. Not to mention, I didn't even get an apology for their MISTAKE! I tried out Your Medicos because they had a deal on a procedure I've been interested in trying out (micro-needling) Soooooo, (I'll make it as brief/informational as possible) I had a consultation with Galina, and unlike may med. Spas I've been to, my consultant (Galina) was personable and really took her time to not only answer all my (maybe dumb) questions. She never made me feel rushed, and didn't try the uncomfortable "pushing of additional procedures" sales approach. That was refreshing!! I'm not a fan of places that try to upsell you into additional services. *Day of my appointment* I confused our appointment time and came a half-hour late I felt like a jerk!! Anyways, Galina was super accommodating and was able to get me in after her upcoming appointment!! I super appreciated this because there's a couple day recover process after micro-needling. It would have been super disappointing for me to reschedule it for another Friday because I'd probably have to book a couple weeks out and I was already so excited to get it done! I've had an ultrasound cavitation and laser fat removal procedures done there. I can't find a single detail I could complain about . The staff is very accommodating, and try to help in all the possible aspects. They let you know about other procedures, but are not pushy. The equipment they have used on me is up-to-date and quite effective (I've noticed a significant difference in the way my waist area looks and how my clothing fits). Because they are a medical group, no tipping is required, and-a huge bonus- they work on Saturdays as well. read more

I Agree with Janet, I went to this place and I almost lost my life when I went home. I ended up on the E.R cause I had lost a lot of blood. Next day I called the office trying to reach the doctor and left a message too but nobody ever called me back. This was just last year. Also I was told that I would be ok in 2 weeks and it took 2 months for me to recover. The results I got from their service was one big ZERO as as I said it almost cost me my life. While I appreciate the reply from Your Medicos, the response is completely untrue. I did in fact have significant improvement after the first treatment. In fact, as the healing from that treatment has continued several of the treated areas no longer have visible spider veins. While it is true that there was on area on my upper right thigh that did not show improvement after the first treatment, almost all the other ares treated have healed up nicely. Also, if the problem with my legs is varicose veins and not not spider veins, that should have been something the staff at Your Medicos dealt with on my first visit. And the Groupon stated clearly that it was for the treatment of both spider and varicose veins. No other options were explained to me. The technician said, that this treatment did not and would not work and said that maybe another treatment would. However, he never explained anything to me. He simply told me to leave. Completely unprofessional. Sorry Your Medicos... your response does not change my experience. I went in this morning for my appt to find out the technician I was to see had quit. I spoke to the secretary on Tuesday who said nothing. There machine was also broken. Apparently no one could attend to my scheduled needs. The secretary who I spoke with this morning was vague and unhelpful and seemed very disconnected and unconcerned about keeping me as a costumer. I was looking for a specific laser treatment I had gotten in the past in the area so that I wouldn't have to go out to the city. Your Medicos had that laser and the receptionist had me speak to whom I assume was the technician, to explain what my needs were and to go over cost. The cost she essentially thought about for a moment and made up. When I arrived, I found out it wasn't a clinician doing the procedure which is odd and probably illegal. I knew what I needed and at which setting and so I allowed her to do it. She tried to talk me into more invasive treatments which really shouldn't even be recommended for my skin type nor should it have been recommended for the problem I was presenting with. When we were done, she was done. I had to ask her for sunscreen otherwise she wasn't planning on providing it which is a huge no-no. Had I not known what I needed and how to do it (I've provided treatment to patients), I would have left. I would encourage non-clinicians to go elsewhere for your optimal safety and best results. read more

UPDATE; I went to a foot doctor and they advised me that I should have never even tried to Laser it for removal, as the fungus went back to the cuticle in which, IN NO WAY any LASER WOULD BE ABLE TO FIX. SO obviously, I made a mistake to go to a place with a groupon and I assumed they knew what they were doing, apparently not. This place talked me out of buying the Cool Sculpting Groupon so I can pay them directly. I paid $2800 to have my Abs done. Dr. Monroe used both big and small suction devices. He told me it would be months until I saw results because I'm in my mid 30s. Note, I am active and workout out a few times a week and I eat healthy. Months later and nothing. Cool Sculpting DOES NOT WORK. It's a joke. Save your money. This place was horrible. It felt like a prank gone wrong. I thought someone was going to come out and tell me I was on a hidden camera show. First, there was construction going on above them. I was scheduled for a massage. I hoped you wouldn't hear it from the massage room. Then my massage started 15 minutes late... But don't worry they made sure to end it on time. The construction was definitely heard from my massage room and the therapist told me that it had been going on for two days. So why didn't they cancel their clients?! Or at least give us a choice of having a massage or rescheduling due to the noise. I don't like to talk during my massages and the therapist was super chatty. She also used way too much oil and didn't really seem to know what she was doing when it came to massage. read more

Save your money and don't go to Northshore Medicos. After I lost a lot of weight I went there to find a procedure to get rid of the loose skin on my arms. Per the doctor's recommendation, I had 3 radio frequency treatments for a total of $450 and they did absolutely nothing! They kept telling me to wait a few weeks before I would see results. After consultations with 2 different plastic surgeons they told me that I wasted my money and the only way to get rid of the loose skin would be to have it surgically removed. The treatments they performed on me were inappropriate and never would have worked. They should have known that and told me that I needed plastic surgery. I went back to them a few months later to ask for my money back but the owner refused. I would not recommend going to Northshore Medicos for any services. Their rosacea treatments do not work. I got a Living Social (like a groupon) for $140 for a single rosacea treatment. Other dermatologists charge hundreds more, and Blue Cross does not cover dermatology, so I jumped at this deal thinking it was the same quality. I actually went for two treatments, and they were good enough to offer me another one at the same price after the first one. I've done some research and I know that it usually takes more than one light/laser treatment to get rid of all of one's rosacea. But after two treatments there was absolutely no change, not one bit of change. Like I said, I had done the research and I knew it would not be all gone after just one. But should there be absolutely no change? Zero change? Not possible. On top of that I was not treated or seen by an actual dermatologist or even an RN. I was treated first by someone I thought was an MD. Then the next time I went, she was late and this other woman said she'd take over instead. She seemed a bit nervous and clumsy and confused by the equipment and the procedure, so I asked her if she was a dermatologist. She said no. I asked if the first person was an MD and she said no. So there you go. Too late for my $280. I hope I saved you some time and money. Do your research, check Doctors' ratings and make sure a doctor is doing this medical procedure which will cost hundreds if not thousands to keep at bay over your lifetime. I learned about Your Medico's from Goupon and glad I made the trip! Cannot praise them enough! Professional, fair, personable and available! Sergei got me on the right track with Ideal Protein and Dr. Jilani is really one of the best. They know their stuff when it comes to weight loss and fitness and I would HIGHLY recommend them if you want to get back into shape. YOU MUST DO YOUR PART TOO - you cannot sit there and expect to lose weight cheating on Ice Cream and Pizza - I work out at least 6 times a weeks so my results are better than some, but if you follow their program you will succeed! I had the same experience as M.K. Bought the Groupon package for 3 treatments. While my spider veins were not terrible I thought "what the heck". It did make mine better however I too have a dime size purple, I would say scar not bruise. Have had it since March and don't see any improvement. The mark looks worse than my spider veins did. While they were always polite and professional I would avoid having anything done at this facility. You won't be seeing me there for anything else. I did two fractional laser treatments with Penny, purchased on lifebooker. My face is pretty red immediately after the treatment, and looks like a mild sun burn on the second day. I am seeing some difference in my scars but no difference in wrinkles :( She does it quickly and painlessly - which is AWESOME. I've been to Northshore Medical for several things now. I initially went because of a Groupon voucher for Ultrasound Cavitaion to remove the extra "tire" around my midsection. I have to say, they never told me I'd have to keep coming back for more and more of the ultrasound procedure for it to work until I was already in the door. Not happy about that. Additionally, I was told to eat properly while doing this in order for it to work. Honestly, that's a cop out in my opinion, so they can say it didn't work because.... Well it's a procedure that did not work for me. waste of money. Moving on.... I went back for a consult for my face to find out what I could do about my sagging 42 year old skin. They were awesome! I spoke to several docs there, who took their time explaining what things were available and would be appropriate for me. I purchased Botox and Radiesse and couldn't be happier! I've been to places for Botox and they've not done as a good a job for something as simple as that. But the doc at Northshore Medical did a superb job on placement of both Botox and Radiesse. Not only did he get rid of the "11's" between my eyes, he also lifted my eyebrows so my eyes look fresher, more awake, more wide open. Very nice! His placement of the Radiesse was also perfect! I was asked by a business partner a week later if I was losing weight! Ha ha! I went back for more stuff..... I purchased B12 shots. I went in each Monday for 4 weeks for the shot. I couldn't believe how lose my pants got!!! Definitely an A+ on that one. I'll be going back for more. So the point of my long review of several products/procedures is that some of the things they sell work, and some don't. So ask around first before purchasing something. I think there are some procedures that don't work no matter where you go. So just ask and be cautious before buying. Some things might just be a gimmick. read more

So like everyone else I purchased a Groupon for a series of treatments. For my first visit I saw someone who was obviously not a nurse, esthetician, or doctor- she had no training and was very uncomfortable and unsure of herself- unable to answer my questions or give me advice. I asked the receptionist to book me with someone else and my second treatment with Theresa was fantastic! Of course I went to the receptionist and made sure to book all remaining treatments with Theresa, BUT when I showed up the following week I was scheduled with the girl from my initial appointment (sorry I do not remember her name). I decided to make sure with the receptionist that my remaining appointments were booked with Theresa- yep you guessed it NO! I tried to reschedule my appointment and see her but they could not fit me into her schedule. I cannot fathom this lack of customer service- the receptionist just stared at me with a blank face the entire time I was talking to her. Awful customer service. I went there to have a laser resurfacing treatment. The staff there was a joke! The receptionists had no idea of what any of the skincare products were for and many of them were not in stock. When I finally met the technician,she couldn't explain to me what the laser treatment I signed up for was or what it did. She advised me to make an appointment with the doctor so I did. I went for my doctor appointment and he was running an hour late, so I had to leave for work. When I arrived for the 3rd time again the doctor wasn't available and the new receptionist had no idea what the skincare products were for. When I found one I knew, I decided to buy it instead of having an uneducated laser service. This product was also out of stock. Initially came into Your Medicos Sc for a few ascetically appealing botox injections because, why not. I was immediately happy with the results simply because those tiny muscles in my face have FINALLY RELAXED. I have since been back and extremely happy with both the results and the general appeal of this office. Staff is welcoming and kind, the office is clean and the doctor always shares some knowledge about the work being done that day. I purchased "Six Laser Hair Removal Sessions for Bikini Area" and "Six Laser Hair Removal Sessions for Underarms" from Living Social for Your Medicos in Buffalo Grove . The ad said you will be given beach ready body giving the impression that most of the hair will be removed during these sessions. Additionally, on the first visit I was told that 70-80% of my hair from each area will be removed. I had utilized all six sessions with no visible effect. They have old and exploited lasers (had to reschedule 2 times because of laser's malfunction). Additionally, the director at this place Victoria Plebanowich is the rudest manager I have ever met. I had laser hair removal done at this place and it was fairly successful in one area and a complete failure in another. However the low rating is a result of what I will call their unprofessionalism. For the first few times when I arrived early for my appointments I had to wait 20 min after my appointment was scheduled to be taken for a total of 30 min. So I decided to arrive right on time since they were never ready for me and guess what? When I was right on time I still had to wait 30 min to get my procedure. On top of that once I was in the procedure room the woman always ran around getting her equipment ready because she didn't bother to set it up all those times I was waiting for her for 30 min. VERY ANNOYING!!! I'm a punctual person and very busy on top of that. If I schedule an appointment for a certain time I expect to have it at that time. Not 30 min after every single time! read more

I have had this bad batch of spider veins on the underside of my knee since I was 12 and it looks like a blue bruise from far away. In 2013/14 I used a living social coupon to remove my spider veins with laser treatments (5). My first visit went as scheduled. During my second visit, I had a different tech, who suggested that I try a different treatment in addition to my laser treatments and we rescheduled for sclerotherapy the next week. When I showed up, Dr. Hagan was running behind and I patiently waited. After about an hour, a receptionist stopped to offer me a gift card for services and the option to reschedule or wait. Seeing as it was an hour and a half drive for me, I decided to wait. Being a health care professional myself, I absolutely understand that appointments go over. I wouldn't want to be in the middle of treatment and have a Dr. leave me to so he can be "on time." However, I still appreciate the gesture of the gift card and the kind updates. I used my gift card to get the required stockings which I did not have. I eventually got in and met Dr. Hagan, who was so incredibly nice (I will be honest, the first technician and one of the receptionists were a bit intimidating, so that is why I only gave 4 stars). The treatment went smoothly, and I they didn't even charge me because I had to wait so long. That is great customer service! A month later, I came in for my next laser treatment. Still not much of a result when I came back a month after that. Dr. Hagan was wonderful and offered for me to trade the rest of my living social laser trips for the full 2 leg session of sclerotherapy (instead of just my one trouble spot). I am pretty sure I could have never afforded this option on my own. The treatment went well, and it took some time for me to see results. This is why I waited to post my review. It's been a little more than a year since my last treatment, and my batch of spider veins are still gone (I had a lot, so obviously I still have some, but I can take pictures now without my legs looking like they are all bruised from far away). One of my veins on my calf looked like it may one day bulge into a varicose, so he decided to treat that as well. I was nervous what that might do and I will admit for about 9 months it looked bruised and even more bulged than before, but now it's better than before. Idefinitely plan on coming back and getting more treatments one day, because Dr. Hagan has made a believer out a this girl who always thought her legs would be ugly! I bought the zerona package, I told them I wanted it done on my legs, the first time they did it on my legs, however the second time she refused to do my legs and said it wouldn't work, you must realize that each time costs around $300 so basically I threw $300 away on the first session, I had bought a groupon for 2 sessions, when I got there they told me that it takes min 8 sessions to see results, I stupidly bought the additional sessions at full price $2,400 save your money, the zerona is worthless, it does absolutely nothing, the lady measured me every time I went in and told me I had lost 2 in overall......if that was the case my cloths would have clearly been lose, they fit exactly the same, also I looked exactly the same, complete ripoff. read more
