My whole family has been seeing her for about 3 years. She did a biopsy on my husband and it was cancer. Thankfully she didn't just prescribe a cream like another doctor recommended. She most likely saved his life since it was much worse than we ever could have imagined. My daughter had severe acne and now her skin looks amazing, thanks to Dr Arroyo. She may be hard to get an appointment with, but she is worth the wait.

I recently went to a consultation with Dr. Tamara Fountain to see what she could do about my under eye bags. She told me all i needed was a good med spa and, while she didn't know her personally, she was impressed with Dr. Amy Taub's work. I looked up Dr. Taub and was excited to see she was right in my backyard at Advanced Dermatology. I called to make an appointment and they told me she wasn't seeing new patients for at least the next year. Never deterred I called their other location in Lincolnshire and they fit me in for a consultation later that month. During the consultation I met with Dr. Taub's lovely and very informative assistant and then Dr. Taub herself. They gave a recommendation for filler (which I've always been afraid of, but figured worth a shot) and scheduled me in the Glencoe office for a few weeks later. Apparently she is only in Glencoe on Thursdays, which is why it can be tough to get an appointment there. Appointment day arrived. I was a little scared of the pain, but figured it couldn't be worse than childbirth. Thanks to Dr. Taub and her amazing staff it didn't hurt at all. They also blow cold air on your face during the process, which felt really good after being outside on a very hot day. I left a little sore with very minimal bruising...and could already notice a big difference within 5 minutes. Dr. Taub didn't use all the filler i had purchased because didn't think i needed it and said the under eye area is very sensitive, but scheduled me for a quick follow up next month to see if i needed more. It was a very quick, painless and successful appointment. I was so impressed with Dr. Taub and the entire staff that I plan to go there for other cosmetic dermatology needs in the future.

They are running a scam called skin healthcare. My wife went in for an annual check but don't ask…read morethem any questions because they will turn that annual visit into an office visit, which is higher reimbursement for them and they will send you a bill.. My wife asked a question about some eczema, they ended up filling an prescription for her. Before she could even pick up we got a bill in the mail, when we called and asked about it, they told us because they filled a prescription they changed the visit to an office visit and charged us. And when we explained money was tight, we were expecting our second child, we didn't know we were going to be charged for this, we won't pick up the prescription, they didn't care and did not cancel the bill.

This bothered me and after looking at these spots I decided to ask around and find out where I should seek medical advise. I started by asking some people at my church who I should see. As I was speaking with a few people the about where to go I kept hearing the names like Derick Dermatology as well as other providers specializing facial related medical issues. I inquired about other places and their variety techniques I got a little concern. Some treatment approaches were kind of.......severe.....and frightening. So I kept asking for about 2-3 weeks. As I asked I saw a pattern evolving. A few people stated mentioning Derick Dermatology. I ask why Derick Dermatology and what I heard was they take a very directed approach. They listen and more important they listen to your concerns. They welcome the questions I asked. So when the doctors at Derick Dermatology looked me they quickly took a look and found skin cancer issues and immediately took care of it. I then ask a few what if questions and provided me with good answers Having a healthcare background I appreciated their fact base approach. They also said I could call their Help Desk and get help regarding my questions or getting suggestions. I did and they quickly got connected with a doctor who address my concerns. Then they said they wanted to see me again in 4 months. I came back and they saw more issues and they were removed. I then asked about preventive skin cancer techniques and once again the D. D. doctors introduced me to a layered approach for stopping future skin cancer. Their approach really worked. Some of those outcomes from the layered approach included: 1. Some of the spots got smaller on my face and dried up 2. I stop getting new sun spots on my face 3. My skin tone started changing to the better. I had a old look before D. D. 4. The best news was I was able to have a significantly reduced aged look. Now as I say this I am older guy close to that number I care not to admit, however my looks are much younger. As an example when I ask for my senior citizen discount I have to pull out my ID and proof it that includes places where discounts begin at 60. I was told me I did not even look close to 60. So you can decide to go to another facial issues provider.....or you can get smart and go to Derick Dermatology and address your issues...... changing your life to your desired look and a better way of life.

We were willing to pay out of pocket, however, after numerous calls and an in clinic visit I was told by the front staff that they were "leaving notes" for the medical staff. 11 days later, CVS called saying they were waiting on a code that was to be given by the clinic. I admit, I lost my cool when the front staff told me they couldn't call CVS with the code and would "leave a note" with the medical staff and they would respond in 24 hours. At this point, I asked to speak directly with Dr. Burk only to be put on hold 2 times and sent to voicemail on the 3rd attempt this is no way to run a business and the staff, front, medical and Dr. Burk, were ineffective, unresponsive and rude.

Scheduling is very efficient, the staff is friendly and courteous, and Dr. Newman immediately put me at ease. This is a very professional clinic and sees only adult patients, I believe. Most communication is backed up with email reminders and an online portal so you can complete all your paperwork ahead of time so you don't need to get there so early the first time. I had my labs drawn during my first visit and the results were available after one week, viewable through my DPI "portal", and Dr. Newman called me personally to explain them, without my prompting. I highly recommend this clinic. The excellent, friendly patient care really shines when paired with it's easy and transparent web presence. It is very professional and I have full confidence that my heath is in good hands with the men and women working there.

They established a patient portal where one can e-mail a nurse, but the e-mails are often misunderstood (i.e. they sent a prescription to Wal-Mart instead of Walgreens). Recently, I asked for a refill of a particular prescription. Instead of filling up a 30 day supply, I ended up getting TWO pills! That's $7.50 a pill...! I am going to look around for another primary care doctor. They do have a nice facility in a professional building, but looks can be deceiving. If you have other medical options, explore them.
