My wife and I recently visited this Goodwill location to see what kind of goodies and great finds that are possibly here. Firstly, what I really enjoy about this Goodwill that I always try to find at other locations is that it has a restroom and a fair amount of changing rooms. This is one of the busiest Goodwill locations that we have ever been to and I reviewed a lot of Goodwill locations! It's almost like Black Friday inside. Staff here was friendly and courteous and plenty of mine was will be replenished as quickly as they were taken off the shelves. Fair selection of men's clothing though I didn't find too much for myself. Great selection of picture frames and wall hangings as well. I bought a 100-piece puzzle (taped close) and a board game (taped closed) The puzzle was missing 1 piece, and the board game only had the board. What a waste of money. If you're going to tape up the boxes, then make sure all components are in the box or just throw it away. These are FREE donations and you are stealing people's money. They think they are getting a complete puzzle or game. Top it off, this location is dirty, unorganized, and a mess. Do better. read more

Follow-up: WHAT a disappointment! This place used to have sales for seniors on Wednesday. No more. They used to let you take two days with a special discount during your birthday month. Now they've got it down to one. They used to put a certain color of tag on sale every week. No more. The place used to be bustling on Wednesday and when I was there last Wednesday, it was empty, and I'm not surprised. I had a basket full of stuff and I had to put 9/10 of it back after I asked about the senior discount. read more

This is a great goodwill store. It has a lot of the same things other goodwill stores have but of better quality. The customer service here is pretty good. I saw many things here that I would consider purchasing if I needed it. If you are looking for a good quality Goodwill Store, this is a great option. Goodwill has a loyalty program that allows you to collect points and get useful coupons, make sure you sign up for that so you can utilize the coupons and get points for your purchases. I use to love going here just to see what treasures I could find. I recently found out that all the Goodwills got rid of their glass display case. the items that would have been in there are now going to be sold on their online store. Plus with the resellers that buy what ever they think will sell better on ebay. (Tiktok has a few creators who do videos on what will and will not sell on ebay) Not only leaves little to nothing left for the people who want to buy it. But I also noticed those items have gone up in price. Because to me it seems that Goodwill wants a cut of what the resellers are getting. I stick to the small mom and pop thrift stores now. read more

I am a regular to this Goodwill location on Wednesdays. I work in retail and I know the value of thrifting. Today, I found a vast amount of items and you could say I lost my head. After three separate visits to the fitting rooms, I made my final visit and noticed that my bid purse was not in my over- stuffed shopping cart. I lost my shit, to say the least. An accommodating young man Eli, came to my loud call for help. I asked him if he had a cell phone on him and could he call my phone. He frantically followed me as I rushed through the store from one end to the other. All of a sudden, I heard my phone ringing. He asked who was on the other end of the phone, only to find out it was Lauren, the Manager. She promptly brought my bag out of the back. She said that I had left it in the fitting room after my third time. I had closed the door behind me exiting the fitting and Eloise, my favorite FT associat, had opened the door to see the bag and my XL Diet Coke sitting on the bench. She made sure to get my bag to the proper person, Lauren and little did I know at this point it was safe.These three people were my Guardian Angels today, being that I carry EVERYTHING in this bag. Please make sure that you commend them for excelling at that their jobs, especially Eli and Elouise, because they are both regularly interacting with the customer and went above and beyond today. read more

I have lived in Illinois for six years now and have always found something that I like and am looking for at this location! The staff is friendly, the store is clean and the selection is large. Dressing rooms are clean and empty!!! Things to note: 1. Parking can get tight, so get here early. 2. Give yourself enough time, look through everything! 3. The Employees here are very Conscientious Quick workers that do their personal BEST to Clean items before Display&Sale.They work their butts off Organizing & putting out more donations to replace sold items. As far as the outside door garbage can being full... I personally think people should be responsible for their *own* trash. This is here for our convenience NOT to abuse the privilege of & overflow it. Common sense tells most not to add to an already overflowing waste can. Pls! This goodwill is kept very clean, and the employees are nice. They have a color of the week, where that item is 50% off. Everything is in order by sizes, which makes it very easy to find exactly what you are looking for. It really saves a lot of time, when you can just go right to your exact size. They have a really good selection of literally everything you can think of. They do get a lot of stuff that is brand new, and still has tags on it. read more

Being completely unprepared for the occasion, I came here with my dad and found the perfect dark suit and dress shirt, clean, good fitting, and ironed for a grand total of... wait for it... $5.73- unbelievable. Having lived in Orland Park for 15 years, I can say this without being judgmental - people in the area try to be more bougie than they are. Lots of wanna be hipsters and treasure hunters mill about trying to blend in with the regular folks. It's also the messiest location I've ever been in. Items are strewn about everywhere and they seem woefully understaffed to keep up with customer traffic. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful (like all Goodwill locations) and I feel bad for them because you can tell they're overworked. They have it where you have to open you trunk and they grab your donation. Social distancing, I get it. The guy starts pounding on my trunk for me to open it but I do not have a trunk release button in my car. He's obviously mad that I have to get out of my car to open the trunk and he scratched my car. Brand new WHITE car with a black scratch. And of course they give me an eyeroll and a huff. read more

Love this store... mostly. Today, being Monday it is very crowded and only two cashier's are working. A manager walked by, saw the line with 12 ahead of me, but was much more interested in locating the owner of the bottom half of a ticket. No one came to register three, but she disappeared. Ten minutes later as I was at the counter two workers and another manager arrived. Behind me stood 11 more people in line. Final analysis: everything Goodwill sells is donated. MGMT could free up a couple bucks more for proper staffing levels. Never forget this is for profit not a charity. read more

I came here on August 21, 2017 with my kids. My youngest was looking at a bike with his hand on the handle bar when a store worker named Anita KICKED the bike out of my son's hands, telling him he couldn't play with it. Mind you, my son is 7 yrs old. When I went to seek out mgmt, the manager didn't even identify herself as a manager and allowed Anita to interject while I was speaking to her about the incident. When I asked about camera footage the next day, I was informed that the clothing racks were in the way so they couldn't see what happened. I'm sure Anita will still have her job here, which is sad. I'm leaving this review to warn anyone with young children to beware of shopping here at this store, especially if you're black. They have a good collection of houseware items especially if you're into old pieces or vintage like things. I always find something worth taking home that excites me!!! I rarely buy clothing and shoes here, but they do have a large selection. However, the prices are a bit pricey for used clothing. Some of the customers are rude (but they can't be controlled), they will steal items out of your cart and push pass you to get to the cart that staff brings new items onto the floor. ***KEEP YOUR CART WITH YOU AT ALL TIMES. The staff is very nice and helpful, they followed Covid guidelines very professionally; keeping only the required amount of people in the store at a time and practicing social distancing. I come here at least 1-2x a week since it's close to work and nice to browse. I will say I have found some genuine gems here, including furniture for less than $10 a pop- couches, coffee tables, you name it. Some of the stuff is brand spankin' new from Target since the stuff in their inventory that doesn't sell gets shipped here!! However, sometimes the pricing is unreasonable. For example, I saw a bar cart brand new from Target that was still around $70. Of course, its original price was probably over $100 but for something like a bar cart at a GOODWILL, that is quite expensive and more than most can afford :P I do love the artwork, and have gotten really nice vintage pieces and paintings. read more

This location was recently reworked, their children's clothing section is vastly improved (an issue I had in the past). The furniture and housewares departments are very impressive and the prices are more than reasonable. The staff is extraordinarily helpful. This goodwill knows pants. I mean, really- for $5-8 you can get a pair of $70 Express or Gap or Ann Taylor pants, in basically any size, and practically new condition. Their pants selection is huge and well-stocked, and even though I made a point of coming every two or three weeks when I was working nearby, they always had enough new stock to make it worth the trip. As a regular "thrifter," I have found this location to be one of the best Goodwill's in the area. The in-store advertisement can be heard over the intercom, stating "This Tinley Park location is the largest in the area." Well, I would agree it is one of the largest locations. Tinley Park Goodwill is also always clean and well-organized. The best days to shop at this location is on weekends, as this appears to be when the greatest flow of donations come through the drive-through. I have found items in all areas, including home, furniture, party goods, clothing, shoes, books, garden, etc. As others have mentioned, the parking lot is the least favorable, but I feel this location is well worth the visit. I have picked up a $5 modern "Club Chair." I have gotten a wonderful set of "Stainless Steel and Mother of Pearl Serveware." I have also gotten exquisite "Crystal Barware." This is a place I must stop by at least once per week, because you never know what hidden gem may be found! read more

This Goodwill is a GEM. I find great clothes here, a lot of good designer-y kind of things, and it's pretty clean as well. The area in which this Goodwill is located has a decent amount of money, so the clothes are normally a really good find. Target also contributes a ton to this location and sometimes you will find 20 of the same shirts in a row and forget where you are. They have a wide selection of purses and are very organized. I can generally walk out of here with a decent sized bag of clothes for under $40. I will never forget I went in there looking for a certain style shoe; like a black combat boot. I literally found exactly what I wanted in my size in under 1 minute of being in the shoe section. After that, I always make Goodwill a priority before I look at Target or other places around. I typically have great luck at thrift stores and I find things extremely quick. I have a bit of funk to my style, so it's probably extremely easy for me. I would definitely check out this location if you're looking to donate some old threads or to find some treasures. read more

Absolutely ATROCIOUS customer service and run by terribly RUDE staff and management, NEVER DONATE HERE!! My mom and I enjoy thrifting and like to visit the different shops in the area. Today my mom grew tired on our shopping excursion and headed to the car to rest as I continued to the checkout to pay for our items. Line took a while but I finally got to the register. Let me just say: my cashier BARBARA was an absolute wench to deal with from the start. When I kindly told her that we had changed our minds about some items she sighed and asked condescendingly if there was anything else we didn't want. I let it slide and continued to wait patiently as she slowly rang up my items. She was EXTREMELY unpersonable throughout the entire ring up process, sighing and rolling her eyes, the whole works. I honestly do not know what the attitude was for. Anyways, after the total finally came, I went to present my Goodwill card and she refused to take it because it was senior discount day and I am not a senior. I explained that my mom just headed to the car. She snottily demanded for her to come in and present herself. Over a small measly discount, mind you, I wasn't saving much! I explained she literally just went to the car before I stood in line and she continued to argue with me. I then asked for a manager. The manager waddled over and was an equal wench and kicked up just the same amount of stink. She demanded my mom come in, after I just explained AGAIN that she didn't feel good and went to the car to rest. Line behind me piling up, these two bitter employees sat here and argued with me over the measly few dollar discount instead of just letting it go. In my opinion? This was just a GREEDY dispute and absolutely disrespectful of everyone's time!!! I wound up just paying to shut them both up but did not wind up being able to use the loyalty card which would acquire us loyalty points. I was disgusted. As I went to leave BARBARA sarcastically said "you were just a doll to deal with" and blew me a kiss. IS THAT A JOKE?!!!!! Is this honestly how the Goodwill corporation wants their stores represented? Needless to say I left with an extremely sour taste in my mouth. Disgusted, actually! PLEASE DO NOT DONATE HERE!!!! New to shopping at Goodwill stores and was pleasantly surprised. I have used the drop off service many, many times but had never been inside. My 1st, 2nd and 3rd visits were on the weekends and it was pretty busy. The racks were jammed solid of decent womens clothing; things were well categorized according to size and color. Even though it was busy, I did not have to wait long and the front desk and floor associates are super nice. I didn't give 5 stars because the parking was really, really tight and some areas were a little to junky/disorganized but maybe thats the way it goes in these places *shrug* ; I'm new. One of the things I was happy about was a fur shall from Marshall field best $20 spent and my son when he was away at college and had to wear button up hurt and tie I would find him brand new high end brand shirts some still had tags some looked like they were just from the dry cleaners. It seems they get Target back stock because we found Ava Viv, WhoWhatWear and Merona new with tags throughout the racks. Housewares is awesome. I've been to my share of similar thrift stores, and this was the first one that divided their clothing up by size! Amazing! Sure it's just S-M-L (maybe XL too?) and sometimes you'll find a S mixed in with the Ls, but I appreciate the effort. Much better than separating everything by color. The selection was pretty decent, the last time I stopped by I think I spent $60 and got a big bag of pretty nice stuff. The only things that didn't make it into my regular closet rotation were items that didn't fit once I tried them on at home (although they do have fitting rooms in the store). Everything I bought is good quality. You can also pay by credit card, which is convenient. I always hated having to remember to hit up the ATM before thrifting. read more

Best thing about this Goodwill is, they take and recycle old computer hardware. Believe it or not there are not alot of place that do this. Drill a small hole in the hard drive and no need to worry about your information, and they do not export the hardware to third world countries. read more

The clothes are ugly but everything else is a deal. The reason for the 2 stars is a crabby old lady who works there. She had over the top attitude. It seemed like she didn't like teenagers. When I first started thrifting, this is the store I came to. Left with a smile and a few good items to break me in. If I wrote this review at the time, this would have 30456 stars but that would be so bias. The more I went there, the less items I got. Their selection isn't the best but I mean hey..whatever tickles your pickle. Me personally I didn't find the thrill in their selection anymore. The staff is..alright? IDK. One straight up opened the door to the changing room I was in (Mind you this was one busy a** day) exposing me in the middle of me changing into my high waisted jeans LITERALLY ten seconds after she gave me that changing room. Like girl.. It's a good thing mama didn't raise a bashful baby. Shrug. BUT that's why I stopped going there and went to savers lol It gets mad crowded though. Their selection and affordable prices keeps me coming back, everytime I shop there I leave with wonderful pieces of clothing. This specific Goodwill also has fitting rooms and very helpful staff. This place is terrible now. Not only have I never seen such unprofessionalism from the staff in my entire life, but the pricing is also extremely inconsistent. This is unfortunate because I used to love shopping at Goodwill when the old store manager was running it, but I feel as though the place is now going down toilet. I also noticed that management is often rude to their employees, especially the store manager. I even heard him tell one of his employees that she was not working hard enough and that if she did not start moving faster, they would have a problem; my issue with this was I was watching her and she was working diligently and effectively. All the employees look like they're miserable to be there! Most of them are rude to the customers and do not make the customers feel welcome. I don't know what has happened to this place, I hope they can make changes and bring it back to the Goodwill I used to love! Maybe a new store manager will help? read more

This Goodwill is awesome. I go there just about every day. It's like a treasure hunt. The staff is super friendly. Lots of Target stuff but I think that the target merchandise is overpriced.
