The gel manicure was great and lasted extra long. only downside was the amount of filing that was done to the top of my nails- it looked like I dipped my hands in flour. This became a problem when I removed the gel- my nails were dry and brittle, so I didn't take the gel off of all my fingers. I asked around and found that it's not normal for the filing to be that extreme. She was also so rough on the filing that my nail beds ached for days and hurt while doing dishes. read more

I love this place! I have been going here for many years and I am always satisfied with their work. No, as some of the reviewers note below, it is not a glamorous location.......Hello? It's in a strip mall in suburban Moraga.... Their prices are a value. The folks that run and work in this salon are cordial and kind. I don't think language is an issue unless you are put off by heavily accented English. I have no issues communicating with anyone here. Michael is very accommodating and always manages to schedule me in amongst their very large client base. It has been a pleasure to watch their business survive in this struggling shopping center. Michael does a great job on fills/tips/manicures and the prices are certainly fair. Admit I'm new to world of nail salons (had my first professional mani/pedi only a year ago elsewhere; I mistakenly had idea they were very expensive & that I was being nobly 'low maintenance') but it is nice to have lovely strong nails. This is not a fancy joint but I wouldn't notice. It's family run (with occasional little ones passing through) and I like that. After a few visits you'll be a regular & I can tell by relaxed and busy atmosphere many come here regularly. I haven't received a pedicure here (though they are always busily working on them)--had amazing foot & lower leg massage w pedi elsewhere & not sure if they do that here but... For fair price and quality mani, I'd recommend. PS: I always make appointment. read more

This salon is very roomy, easy to access, lots of free parking. The ladies always do a great job. Linda gives the best manicure ever! The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is because after they're finished polishing you and putting you under the fan, they tend to ignore you. Nobody comes back and checks your polish to see if it's dry or help you put your sandals on so you don't smear your polish. They are busy so make sure you book an appointment before coming. read more

This isn't a fancy salon which is fine with me - you are not paying typical Lamorinda prices. Michael and his wife own the salon and everyone there does excellent work. Michael does my acrylic nails and he works amazingly fast but does absolutely the most perfect nails you can imagine, no oddball thumbs or varying lengths or nails that chip. You can pay twice as much at Pinkies and not get this quality of work. Even if I didn't live very close I would still go to Anna Nails. read more

Consistently a positive experience. I have been going here since they first opened approx. 18 years ago. Even when I moved away, I still came to them for my regular mani/pedi. I recently took my 11 year old granddaughter with me to use a gift coupon for a manicure and pedicure. My granddaughter asked for the manicure and chose a color she wanted. She also asked that sparkles be put on her nails. It became quite a situationfor her: The manicurist refused to do as requested and instead chose an entirely different color than the one chosen. I asked the woman giving me the pedicure to tell the manicurist my granddaughter could have what she wanted. She didn't comply with my wishes. though there was an offer to redo the finger nails, it was late and we had another appointment. My pedicurist never said a word to me and she was rather rough, though It was a good pedicure . Bummed I wasted money here!!! My friend and I were walk-ins where we were told they had availability. We were rushed and they barely did the minimum work to even call what we got a pedicure. I am over 7 months pregnant and after realizing they weren't gonna rub my feet basically begged to pay more for a foot rub, I was then informed that she would not and that I shout pay for a foot rub somewhere else. This is one of the main reasons pregnant people get pedicures ..... Don't waste your money! read more

I've never had an experience at a nail salon where I was 100% satisfied with everything - technician, salon, price, etc - until today. I needed an acrylic fill. Michael was meticulous and listened to what I wanted. He was so kind and helpful. It was $25 for a great fill that looks beautiful, and he understood when I said I wanted to paint them myself at home with my own gel (I have a kit). I've never walked out of a salon thinking "I'll definitely be coming back here," but I will absolutely be a regular of this place. Great staff, clean environment, convenient location, reasonable pricing. Just make sure you make an appointment! read more

Best manicure and pedicure ever. I was surprised when I went as I didn't expect anything too crazy here in Moraga. But although I came in as the last person before closing for the day they took their time and didn't rush what I always hate. Nails looked perfect like I honestly never had it before. I would honestly recommend going there if you live around here. They also have great colors, magazines and starbucks is close to get a coffee before. read more

This is not your fancy nail salon. If you want that experience, go to Bolinger but this shop will do a better job. Great family run and you become part of the family. They have become so busy that the reason for the 4 star vs 5 is I feel they rush the pedicures. 30 minutes is not long enough. They aren't thrilled about doing gel since it takes so long, but Michael does a great job with acrylic fills and Linda is the best at pedis. Avoid Judy's Nails across the street. read more

Very consistent, long-lasting pedicure. I have been to places all over Lamorinda, but keep coming back here. Not the "spa" experience some might be looking for, but pleasant people and great pedicure for a great price of $20. You can be in and out within an hour, but I recommend an appointment for Fridays or Saturdays (they are closed on Sunday) as they are always busy. read more

(i've been to fancier salons and a manicure is a manicure, so why travel to spend and extra $25, unless you need the pampering.) What an abysmal experience. Because this place is notorious for being prickly about walk-ins, I called two days in advance to make an appointment. The male owner was rushed on the phone with me. I asked for an appointment earlier in the day, specifying that I needed a manicure and pedicure. He only offered afternoon appointments, explaining that mornings were busy. I accepted a noon appointment, the latest I could schedule prior to retrieving my young son from school at 2:00. When I arrived at 5 to noon, the dirty, dated salon was nearly empty. The male owner greeted me by frowning at my acrylic nail set. He whined that I had not specified that I needed a fill, despite listing "acrylic nails" as one of the salon options etched into the glass advertising on their front door. I reminded him that I had asked for a manicure and pedicure when making my appointment, that I had received several fills from them before in prior appointments, and that they in fact advertise their ability to do fills on their front door menu. He then shrugged his shoulders and said it would take "well beyond 2 hours", even for just a manicure alone and that he "didn't feel like doing it now". I tried to negotiate doing gel instead, but he refused. His excuse, each and every time I pressed, was that it would "take too much time", and that he "didn't want to do that now". I was incredulous. I have been getting acrylic fills, all over San Francisco Bay Area, for 20 years. It DOES NOT take 2 hours, only an hour and a quarter, or even just an hour with a skilled manicurist. This man was just purely being lazy and rude. While I even found myself arguing that he indeed has even given me fills before, he whined about time and length of the appointment over and over. He refused to honor my appointment. I am a very sanitary person and I tip well, so other than this selfish man's malaise, I cannot fathom what his problem was. At this point I came to my senses, and walked out of his crappy establishment for the very last time in my life. He has lost a customer, and a generous tipper as well. This is a SHODDY ESTABLISHMENT. Do NOT waste your money and time here. read more
