Bottom Line: A charming store specializing in local, handmade pottery. There is just something so quaint and charming about Annapolis Pottery. I love going in there and looking at the beauty of the pottery. The colors, designs and shapes are always so enchanting. There are so many interesting pieces - some for everyday enjoyment and others that are more specialized. Annapolis Pottery, a long time tenet on the historic State Circle, is located in a historic building and I love the sounds of the creaky hardwoods beneath my feet. Here is what makes me a fan of Annapolis Pottery: - Most items are handmade in the good ol' USA and many items are made onsite at the store - Most pottery is practical in that it is oven, microwave and dishwasher safe - The staff is always friendly and helpful - It's a great place to go for local gifts and some items can even be customized I have acquired various items from Annapolis Pottery over the years including dishes and Christmas ornaments. I put up four Christmas trees each holiday season and some of my favorite ornaments are super cute little animals and snowmen that I got at Annapolis Pottery. They always bring me lots of joy! If I am visiting Annapolis Pottery when they first open on Sunday mornings I usually park on the street but for other times I park in the Noah Hillman garage off of Main Street and then cut through an alley that connects Main Street to State Circle. read more

Lovely items in the window, a big blue bowl of water outside for the 4-legged customers (perhaps the fanciest dog bowl in town) and one of the best signs out front as well. Really, no need for a sign saying that you sell pottery when a sign referencing donuts is memorable!! read more

I loved this pottery store in Annapolis, Maryland. The staff were friendly and helpful and the store felt safe, in this time of Covid. Many of the items reflect the Chesapeake Bay heritage of Annapolis, with crab-related items. This is a fun place to walk in and browse, even if you aren't going to buy anything. I bought a cute little zen-looking, blue and white flower vase which will remind me of my visit here. The person working there also gave us restaurant/drink recommendations as a bonus. read more

We have been customers for years and this includes some special orders. The service is great. The quality and finish of what they make here and what other local artists/crafts designers sell here is excellent. Be prepared to pay as artisans need to make a living too. The owners philosophy is they need to support them. We've been given tours of the place too including clear expert explanations of the work and processes involved. read more

Good local store, but not friendly shopping experience. Made special trips to the shop twice only to find them closed - once early on a Friday evening and once at 4:45 on a Tuesday. The latter time, I noticed that even though the "closed" sign was up, there were still employees in the shop and the door was not locked. I asked if they were open and they said "we're getting ready to close." It turned out the store closes at 5 pm (no signage about this anywhere I could see). I asked if I could come in to make a purchase and promised I'd be out by 5, which the employees seemed unhappy about, but it all felt uncomfortable and a crappy way to drop $100 on a present. Seems like a disservice to the artisans who sell their pottery here. Not sure I'll be back. read more

I love stopping in here! I just wish I threw more parties so I have an excuse to buy serve ware! I just can't get over the colors and the variety that they have there on display. Whatever it is that you want they probably have it. And if not, I'm sure someone will make it for you. I don't think they have iit anymore, but they used to have a section where they sold pieces that had slight defects for discounted prices near the workshop. Every once in a long while I will see one, but not as often anymore. I can handle a little chip or small imperfections for a good deal! They also have a limited selection of party foods and dips and occasional samples that are also yummy! read more

It's huge! that's what she said. I was rushed through the store because it was going to storm and I still had to make it back to the car without an umbrella. But I was impressed by the size of the store and the selection of not just your normal pieces but also platters and tastefully done bowls and a million other pieces. This store is on the first circle and worth the walk up here. You'll pass some cute little properties, bed and breakfast places and there are a bunch of antique stores a couple blocks to the right of Main St too. read more

THEY ARE SNOOTY! It seems they pick and choose who they greet and talk to. If you don't look like a well dressed middle aged white woman who has money to spend.....staff basically ignores you.....as was my case when I walked in until I left. Not one person approached me, spoke to me, nor asked if I needed help.......I was looking for a large handthrown tureen and never did find one. As I was leaving.......the front staff was busy warmly greeting a white couple that had just walked in. Needless to say.....I WILL NEVER BE BACK! read more

The balanced pieces resist breaking, a quality bolstered by the uniform thickness of the rims, sides, and bottoms of the pieces. Designs range from country platters and traditional mugs to crackled, splattered, and modern bread and oil plates and elegant terrines done in appealing palates of blue, green, orange, and glowing scarlet glazes. We really like this place. Not only is it fun to see all the locally made pottery and crafts, but there are some great gift ideas here. Caution, it's not a child friendly place, they break it, you buy it. But every time we go there is something else unique to see and shop for. It's one of our normal shops to visit when shopping for bridal showers or wedding gifts or a gift for someone who has most everything else. I love this shop. They have their fair share of mugs and other tourist trinkets, but they have a great selection of really beautiful and unique artistry items. I purchased 3 "buckets" from the shop made by a North Carolina potter. They are so perfect for my house. I had them shipped to CA and they arrived packaged carefully and without damage.
