I've been here maybe 4 times by now. I've gotten the pizza (not my fav) and the subs. Never tried the pasta but I'd assume it's going to fall in line with the rest. Mediocre food. The subs I thought were fine. My husband does love the Philly. The pizza. Kinda disappointing imo.. sauce. Don't love it. And the pizza they need to put more toppings on it if you're going to charge so much for them. Crust is my fav and it was sad. The App sampler refrozen. Small and kind of a joke for price bs portion. Service was terrible. Waitress took our drink order, came back after bringing the drinks, and complained to us about "getting in trouble" for texting. She then took our food order. She left to put our order in, we watched as she was verbally abused by the 5 or so employees sitting around the cash register very loudly. Then she came back a few minutes later with her note pad in her hand staring at us. We were unsure what she actually wanted when my wife told her she had already taken our order. She was so flustered she didn't realize she already took our order. She left again and brought food for my son and I only. Then asked my wife if she wanted a plate to eat our pizza. My wife replied, "I ordered the Penne." The waitress stared at my wife for a good 20 seconds, not understanding. Then the waitress replied "Oh, that's what you meant by Penne." At that point, I was ready to just leave the restaurant and never come back. In hindsight, we never should have let them bring any food and paid for the soda and left. I will never come to this Anna's again because of the unprofessionalism. A manager (I assume) gave me a "discount" for our troubles, but for the first time in my life, I didn't tip at all because of how awful the experience was. read more

Stopped here for lunch while car was in shop across the street, what a nice surprise! It's y our typical Italian restaurant, but the service here was great! The food here is terrible! I had the eggplant parmesan. It was 2 slices of eggplant covered in catsup or Hunts tomato paste or sauce from the can. The spaghetti noodles were drenched in the catsup sauce and at the bottom of all of this was water (apparently they didn't drain the spaghetti well enough before putting them on the plate). I've been looking for a good pizza place since moving here 5 years ago. I avoid national chains, always preferring local business. Anna's is a nice-looking place inside with eager, attentive staff. I have been there twice and got the 14-inch meat lover's pizza each time. The dough was superb both times - it doesn't get any better than their nice, thick, chewy, garlic-butter-glazed pizza pie foundation. The sauce is good, but a bit thin and could use some pepping up. The first pizza I got had 2 to 2-1/2 inches of crust around the outside with all the toppings piled in the middle. The second one had better distribution of sauce and ingredients, but the toppings are of low quality and in skimpy quantity. The cheese is very good, but again they skimp on quantity. For about $25, I thought the price a bit much. read more

Stopped at Anna's after running errands in town. Simple order, 2 Italian Subs with oil & vinegar, NO MAYO!!! Drove home anticipating a delicious lunch, but once home my anticipation came crashing down. Both subs were slathered with mayo and had no oil or vinegar. The woman who took my order entered it correctly as I watched her key it in and she noted NO MAYO. Whoever made the sandwich apparently didn't pay attention or didn't care. I have never had an issue with Anna's in Kilmarnock until a couple of weeks ago. To tell you just how bad it was would be a book. The amount of unhappy customers in the hour that I stood out in front waiting for my order which was called in was unbelievable. It appeared every other was messed up. It took me a while to put this review up because I happen to know the owner and I knew that they didn't usually operate this bad. Reviewing pizza, one of the basic food groups for college age folks is no small task. While my college days are long, long since gone I think I still know what good pizza is. Anna's had the flavor (Anna's Special), but I felt the crust was soggy in the middle, while crisp and perfect toward the edges. The presentation was nice; the green peppers were either added at the end of the cook or right after coming from the oven. The tiramisu was tasteful, but I prefer one with mascarpone rather than an ice cream. Cheesecake was quite good. Beer at $4.50 bottle isn't cheap, but I suppose that's par for the course these days. Certainly I will return to sample other menu items. I think this should be listed as $$$ rather than $$ Just dropped another star because the so-called "Philly Steak" pizza turns out just to be hamburger meat. Jeez, are you kidding?? Just dropped another star when the wait staff basically didn't want us to sit down for dinner at 8:32p when they close at 9:00p. We were staying at an airbnb about 10 minutes away and decided to try to go there for dinner. When we walked in no one greeted us and then someone came in from the front door like a customer and said are you in line and we said yes and then she walked past and it was obvious she worked there as she got into this loud conversation with the people up by the register. Anyway long story short finally a guy behind the counter just told us just to sit anywhere. We sat down and 15 minutes later no one had approached us with a menu, glass of water, said anything like "I'll be with you in a minute" so we left. We are really patient people and know that there is a shortage right now of good help. It only takes a second to say I'll be right with you. Looked at reviews and decided to give it a try. Would not ever go back. We sat at a booth where the table needed cleaning I asked if she could wipe it but was asked what we wanted to drink instead. I asked another lady and was told someone would wipe it, after 15 minutes we just moved. We ordered baked spaghetti and spaghetti with meat sauce. I will tell you that the meat was more a suggestion, you might find a tiny speck of it if you looked really hard. There was plenty of food on the plate, just no quality. The tea was so watered down that it had no flavor. We asked for a cup to take our drinks with us as it looked like the staff was in a hurry to leave. We travel a lot and were extremely pleased with our take out order of: The Everything pizza as well as the White pizza with Anchovies! Anchovy pizza is hard to come by and they did not disappoint. Let's start with the hand tossed, perfect crust. Not too thick. Not too thin, juuuuussst rigggght!!!! The Everything was loaded with fresh ingredients and generous amounts of cheese. So good! The anchovy was incredible!!! Nice amounts of cheese to receive the scattered bits of anchovy and fresh basil chiffonade. People have not quite grasped how badly the service industry has been ROCKED by covid. If you find yourself annoyed at slow service during these uncertain times; please try these exercises to help yourself: 1. STFU, go home and cook, this ain't new, labor shortage in the service industry is ridiculous. The people who worked in the service industry during the height of covid, well a lot of them got covid and died so they aren't coming back. 2. Continue to STFU, and stand there patiently. You have literally 2 people tending to 50 peoples needs. Can you multi task like that? Or do you still get offended at someone not offering BS banter back to you? While traveling for work, I decided to have dinner at here. During my takeout experience, the lady (wore a rose color bling mask) checked me out. All was fine until she went to get my house salad. She went to the back and grabbed a head of lettuce. I noticed she had no gloves on and proceeded in cutting up the lettuce. From my view, I could not tell if she had or had not washed her hands. Prior to this, she had just been handling money from a previous customer. I asked one of the other staff members was she handling food without gloves, he approached her and after that she instructed him to finish my order. What was very disappointing was that she was no longer attentive to my order and was very dismissive with any other requests that I ask (cutlery and condiments) by telling the other person to get it. With our current pandemic occurring, it is assumed that all establishments are taking the necessary measures to ensure all left with the assurance they are safe and their food is being handled with care as well. I probably wouldn't have left with such a bad taste in my mouth from the restaurant if she would have not behaved in such a nasty and dismissive way. Nonetheless, I wanted to express my point and hope that other patrons aren't treated in the way I had been today. I could have easily dined elsewhere but I chose this establishment to support local businesses . Order (ofg-048) I also sent an email and posted my experience of how I was mistreated and dismissed and no one followed up about it... no surprises there. The eggplant Parmesan was light, topped with cheese, and served with spaghetti. House salad is full of iceberg lettuce, so be forewarned to ask for romaine. Very nice & authentic- owner is in the kitchen and actually Sicilian. Pizza is great, best in area. Great bread. read more

We had a slice for lunch that was good, so we decided to try dinner. ordered a pizza. Although they listed several beers on tap only one was available. My wife ordered ice tea with extra lemon on the side. Had to ask our server 3 times before the light went on. Pizza was fair. The crust was not crisp at all and the overall temperature was if it sat out several minutes before it was served. We will probably give Anna's another try because it's the only place in town, but this visit counted as 2 strikes. read more

The first time we tried the place, my husband stopped by on his way home for a large take out pizza. He waited an hour for the pizza. I decided to give them another chance, so I stopped by for a late lunch. My waitress arrived five minutes after I was sat and seemed flustered despite there only being a couple other tables. Between heavy sighs, she introduced herself and asked for my drink order. I ordered my drink and food at the same time in an effort to make her life easier. The next time I saw her was when she dropped my drink and when she brought my food 20 minutes later. When she brought my food, I put in an order for a slice of pizza Togo. The Italian Sub was skimpy on the meat, lettuce and tomato! The slice of cheese was thicker than the meat that came on the sub. And my tomato was one slice, cut in half, one half on each side of my sub. A total disappointment. I waited 20 more minutes with no refill on my drink and no pizza. My waitress was no where to be found. I walked up to the cashier to close out and she seemed apologetic as she was pulling up my check on the computer. She asked if I knew why I didn't get my slice of pizza... honestly, don't know why I didn't get it but it could have something to do with not seeing my server for 20 minutes. After I closed out, she offered me a free sub next time I come back. I appreciate the gesture but I will never be back. read more

I have to down grade my original review:( Pizza is still pretty good but salads and hoagies have a lot of room for improvement. I love a good salad with my pizza and iceberg lettuce, a tomato, two cucumbers and a handful of onion doesn't do it for me. Recently we got take out and i was disappointed both times. Icky salad and pizza order was messed up. I ordered the turkey hoagie and was again was bummed. It wasn't toasted (we asked on the phone) and was blah- more of an onion, dull iceberg hoagie!
