Delicious! Went on a girl's weekend getaway to White Stone and my friend suggested this spot because it's her favorite place to grab food. We went for lunch on a Saturday afternoon, plenty of parking spots to choose from, and we were seated pretty quickly when we walked in through the door. Loved that the building was a dentist office before. Very cute decor of a dentist office inside haha. Anyway's we started out with espresso martinis, which were very delicious and just hit the spot. We decided on the brussel sprouts appetizer and to split 2 entrees. I got the smashed burger with their fries and my friend on their pear salad. BOTH were perfection and arrived within a reasonable time. The burger was juicy and the fries were crunchy and soft at the same time. The pear salad was fantastic, and the blue cheese was a wonderful touch. We ate pretty quickly because we were on our next adventure to a cruise sunset down the street. At 5:15 my family and I came with high expectations expecting amazing food. This restaurant is perfect at doing what is needed and the lighting and the waitresses completed this fantastic restaurant. I got the smash burger which came with AMAZING fries. The burger came with 2 smash patties and was extremely juicy and tasty. That is the perfect definition of a smash burger. I assumed this place would be good. Good reviews and this place makes you put a cc down to hold a reservation and charges $50 A PERSON to cancel less than 24 hours in advance. Usually only good places do this. Let me tell you... to pay $50 for the entire meal we were served would have been robbery in and of itself the food was that bad. When we arrived they told us we had 2 hours to eat bc the table was reserved for 745pm. Hi, if it takes us more than 2 hours to eat that's bc you're too slow-- just saying. Today is my birthday and this place is the worst meal I have had in a very long time. Everything was bland. The bread basket was even terrible. The zucchini frites I knew would be awful the moment she sat them down. They looked about as appetizing as McDonald's nuggets and tasted even worse. 0 flavor, way too much breading and even the sauce was bland. My husband had pow pow shrimp he said they we fine, nothing special. My husband and I both ordered the ribs (first mistake was ordering the same thing) neither of us ate more than a few bites-- my husband said hands down top 5 worst ribs he's ever had in his life. He actually spit a bite out quietly in his napkin. I had a side of bbq with mine and the vinegar base tasted like it was legitimately bad. The waitress highly recommended the pizza so we ordered one for the kids and I had hoped it would actually be good since we didn't eat the ribs-- it was not. No flavor at all. My kids barely ate the 1 piece each I cut up for them. It was the only thing we took to go solely bc I was worried the kids would be hungry later. My husband ordered a glass of wine and when he didn't drink any of it I asked if he was feeling ok and he said it was "terrible." My husband is way too nice. He refuses to ever tell a restaurant the food is bad, he just says thanks, tips well (Which for the record Im fine with the waitress was nice despite the terrible meal she deserves to be tipped well) and leaves, but it was a complete waste of money and I am very disappointed. I would absolutely never return or recommend The Office Bistro. Truly Applebees would have been a better birthday dinner. What a way to end the day... read more

Stopped in here on a Monday evening, as I was too lazy to cook and this was about the only open place in the area. Hostess said we couldn't be seated without reservation, but we were welcome to sit and order from the bar, so that is what we did. Service was prompt, friendly. The food came out fast and was delicious. The atmosphere was light and modern. We've known about this place, but have other places we frequent and The Office had kind of dropped off our radar. No longer! We will return, and will certainly call ahead for reservations (although we were perfectly happy sitting at the bar!) . Great food, great service. read more

After getting a recommendation from another local business we decided to give The Office a try. Best decision! It was a clean and quirky place with a fantastic outdoor eating space (too chilly to enjoy on the day we were there). Service was awesome and the manager chatted with us which I loved. Between the two of us we had the Pow Pow Shrimp as an appetizer. It was the perfect balance of crispy, juicy, salty, spicy and a hint of sweet. I will try the oysters next time. The pear salad was out of this world. I had grilled shrimp on too that were perfectly cooked. Again, the balance of flavors and textures was excellent. The best thing we ate (and honestly one of my top ten meals ever) was the smoked tea crusted tuna. Everything about that dish, from presentation to taste, was spot on. Know before you go: reservations are recommended during high visit times. It's pricey but you get what you pay for. Their cocktails and beer and white selection are *chefs kiss*. While staying at the Tides Inn, we decide to venture into the town of Irvington for dinner. With not many places to pick from, we settled on the Office due to reviews from shop owners in the area. The place is very, "artsy" and I wasn't too sure what to expect when it came time to eat due to the menu having a variety of different types of foods(everything from pizzas and sandwich to steak and lobster). We decided to order the powPow cauliflower for our appetizer and was very happy with the decision. I ordered the Salmon Sandwich and the sauce was excellent (be prepared to eat open-faced- with a fork and knife) and French fries and my husband ordered the Ny Strip with the lobster cream sauce, mashed potatoes and green beans.. The steak needed the sauce as it was not really seasoned and there seemed to be some inedible pieces but it was a large enough piece he was able to get enough. The service was great! Our waitress (whose name I did not get unfortunately) was attentive and super happy! The manager came by a few times as well and checked on us. In making small talk he uncovered we were celebrating a milestone anniversary and told the waitress to get us a dessert on the house. The bourbon selection was good and the prices were very fair. If you are passing through Irvington Va or staying for a little getaway, check out the Office Bistro for lunch or dinner. read more

We started with the Bang Bang Shrimp and oysters. Both were good. My wife had the Apple Pear Gorganzola salad and it was large and good but barely enough pears slices to put pears in the title. 3.5 stars I had the Shrimp and Grits and was disappointed. Almost to salty to eat. The shrimp were way overcooked and dry. 2 stars My wife also had the Salmon and it to was cooked way too long. Very dry, she commented that it was a good thing that she had water to wash it down. 2 stars My nephew had the steak and cheese sandwich and it looked good. He said it was good. He gave it a 4 stars. For 20 bucks it's a 4, it was a 15 dollar sandwich. His wife had the Thai Curry chicken. She said it was good and gave it 4 stars. She said if it had a little more sauce, it would been a 5. I was hoping to really like this place, because the NN doesn't have a lot of really good restaurants. We may give it another shot, but I kinda doubt it. read more

We came here after a friend highly recommend it to us. And boy, she was not wrong! I warn you know, I expect this place can get crowded. We came super early in a very sleepy off season. You may want to get reservations. The decor/interior was exceptionally upscale and modern. The waitresses & hostesses were top notch. And the bartender & cook's skills represented themselves. Started out with the Rocket Flatbread. The figs & cheese were a great mix. This was way too much of an app for two, though. You were warned! The bread that was served was actually enough and if there are only two of us, I would have skipped the flatbread and stuck with the freebie. I didn't know what to get so I went low brow and went with the fried shrimp platter. I was afraid it would be a fat fest, but it was actually lightly fried. I don't know the real term, but I always think of it as Callabash style. It was very well done, tasty and for fried food was pretty light. If this restaurant were in a bigger city, this would be a three star review. Given the options in town, it was way better than the restaurant across the street. My husband ordered the scallops, which were very good. I ordered the ahi, which was also good, but for some reason served atop a sizzling platter of bell peppers (like fajitas). It was absolutely the wrong way to present the dish and caused the fish to overcook as I was eating it. But the flavor was good. We tried the pow pow shrimp as an appetizer and they were fine. We made the mistake of ordering the key lime pie for dessert and received just a plain, unadorned slice of pie. It was okay. The restaurant ambiance itself was also just okay and service was fine. "Holy Mackerel!" Mackerel was the special this Tuesday in Irvington va. Catch of the day! It was nice, served over rice. Just a bit over cooked which made it a little tough, but flavorful. Crab dip cheesy as promised, chips were standard and not up to the scooping task, but utensils provided. Nice start. Specialty cocktails were also delicious. First seating at 5 pm. Eating at the bar is a great option. Only open 5-8 pm in the evenings, but that is Irvington Va. (9pm= Midnight in other places). Over 60 crowd meeting friends for dinner. Love it. Lively chatter, so I wouldn't describe as intimate because it did get a little loud but it was ok. Cocktails reasonably priced. Entrees good price. The service was great. I think a wine dinner here would be fun to be a part of given the vibe. Restaurants with a seasonal crowd, in a rural must not be easy. With this quality of food, I think it is with a trip to check them out. read more

Used to be a dental office by the toothbrush columns outside, dental wallpaper in the bathroom, and cut outs in the dividers. Nice dog friendly porch with fans and umbrellas outside. Mock tails which were great to see, the kitchen staff was very helpful in making sure no allergen cross contamination occurred which is always much appreciated. The steak was DELICIOUS, very Tender, perfect seasoning. Mashed potatoes were flavorful and creamy. The chicken Sandwhich was very tasty- the grilled pineapple and mango salsa complemented eachother well, it was a tad dry so a sauce would have made it perfect. Very unique and modern flare. Cons- 1 single bathroom for the entire restaurant so try to freshen up prior to everyone else, we went as soon as they opened and my seat was dirty and the bathroom trash can was overflowing. There was a hair on my plate when served- I'm hoping it was from my napkin as I opened it but that also is unappetizing. A lot of flies inside despite eating inside instead of the patio- likely from being near the doors but they were relentless and unappetizing to deal with dining at a nicer establishment. What an incredible find in tiny Irvington - we were staying nearby and walked over for a wonderful evening, service by Solita was just perfect, and owner Marc spent several minutes with us talking about things to do in the area. The nods to the prior history as a dental office were super cute - large toothbrushes outside the front porch and check out the restroom wallpaper! Onto the food - we had the special ahi bites appetizer, and the complimentary bread and olive oil was warm and flavorful. We had the special ribeye with mashed potatoes and the tarragon lime salmon. My salmon was melt in your mouth good and cooked perfectly medium rare. As we were celebrating a special occasion, happily received an unexpected complimentary dessert - selected the vanilla bean sundae with brownie bites and enjoyed that as well. Bottles of wine were half price that evening so we indulged in a great Napa red blend. read more

First off, the food was amazing. That has nothing to do with the rest of our experience. We had a party of 11, called before for a reservation for 7pm, were asked to come earlier because they close at 8. We came at 6pm and were sat promptly. We waited 15 minutes before we were greeted with our waitress who did not tell us her name. She brought us waters, and that was the most attentive she was for the two and a half hours we were there. We did not place our drink orders until 6:30, and did not receive them until 7. Not everyone ordered cocktails, and we still did not receive them. Food orders were placed at 7. One of our party is vegetarian, she asked for a sandwich with no chicken and received judgment. We did not get our food until 8:30pm. In between placing our orders and receiving our food, our waitress did not come check on us once. She had to be flagged down for us to get water refills, which took more than 15 minutes. They brought us bread at 8:15 (we've decided to refer to this as "pity bread"). The server did not interact at all. The restaurant was not busy enough when we walked in for this extreme lack of attention. The waitress never apologized for the wait for the food. This was a special occasion that the restaurant was aware of. She attempted to upsell, and then barely even sold the experience of the restaurant. A majority of our party has worked in the food industry and is understanding of the workings of a restaurant, but this service was abysmal. The hostesses were running our food. A manager (?) asked us how our food was, and then walked away right after. The food was good, but this was one of the worst dining experiences we have had. read more

Not surprised they are expanding but so excited it looks like there will some outdoor seating. I got a salmon sandwich my first time here. The salmon is very nicely cooked but balsamic dressing made the bread very soggy so I didn't really love it. This time I got a Cobb Salad and I LOVED it! First visit. Was happy to see they use Resy which I used. We were warmly greeted and seated outside as requested. The wait staff definitely trying to give an upscale vibe and doing pretty well until they asked if I wanted another ice tea and then forgot to bring it. it was a Tuesday night and few diners. The bread and olive oil were a nice touch and unexpected. My partner ordered the grilled chicken and rice and I had the ribs after an enthusiastic endorsement by our waiter. Rib portions were huge and they were fall off the bone good. Sauce was a bit odd to me but not bad. The baked beans had a very strange spice to them. I've eaten a lot of ribs and beans but could not eat these beans. I don't eat coleslaw but tried it and it was okay. I had to leave room for all the ribs. I could have easily done with half the amount that was brought. You would think grilled chicken and rice would be pretty simple but alas, there was some different spices going on there that the more my partner had the spicier it got and she is not a fan of spicy. She ate less than half the chicken and asked the waiter to find out what the spices were. She came back and told us she could not reveal the spices but agreed that the dish was spicy. My partner said if she had known the dish was spicy she would not have ordered it and did not enjoy it. Waiter apologized and cleared the dishes and offered dessert. We went with the key lime pie. It tasted okay but it by far the smallest and most expensive piece of pie we have ever had at $9 for a pretty small slice. Was expecting some acknowledgment of the issue with the grilled chicken, maybe comp that entree or the dessert but no, just the check. Nice place and they are obviously going for a more upscale experience which I appreciate. Maybe the waiter did not rely our concerns to management but given how not busy they were management could have easily stopped by and checked in with everyone. read more

Great find while visiting family! I'm in the area a few times a year and there are only so many restaurants, especially on a Monday before summer. The Office was outstanding in all ways. Service by Tashima (sp?) was warm, thoughtful, and attentive. Food was great with a wide range of options, all delicious. Cocktails and beer/wine selection were much better than I expected. And it's upscale without being stuffy or making anyone feel out of place. We appreciated the extra attention to the birthday girl we celebrated. That was one of several small gestures that we wouldn't have thought to miss, but meant so much. We'll be back next time in town! read more

Great service by Tashima! Was able to help us by answering our many questions as this was our first visit. Was able to accommodate a change with the drink I ordered. Will return again just because of the great level of service and friendly staff. The best burger with solid taste to back it up ! French fries here I could have just ate a whole bucket. The salmon BLT was unique and delicious with the onion rings. Both dishes filling and worth the money. Blackberry hopper was refreshing surprise made perfectly.
