Anne and her team did a beautiful job with our landscaping. She completely transformed our backyard and sidewalk and we could not have been more pleased. And it all came within the budget we had planned. She listened to our needs to add some privacy via trees out back to cover an undesirable view. On our side walk she provided easy care plants as pedestrians and dogs create a bit of traffic there. We appreciated that on the day of the project she was on site and hands on all aspects of the job. The final result exceeded our expectations and we look forward to enjoying our landscape for a long time. On June 14, they finally responded to my email by saying they were too busy for my job. I am not sure how they have any clients with this kind of customer service. read more

We had Anne Roberts Gardens design and implement a paver patio in the back yard of our Chicago bungalow, with surrounding planting beds. Numerous overgrown plantings were removed, as were weed trees in the alley and alongside the existing garage. Ariana Sky was our designer, and we had a good, collaborative process to ensure that the hardscape met our needs (including some complicated drainage solutions) and that the plantings met our aesthetic criteria. Beware: Though this company advertises Landscape Architecture services on their website, they do not have a landscape architect on staff. It is against Illinois law to portray yourself as a landscape architect without a license. When I called and asked if they employ a landscape architect, they gave me the name of someone who they claimed was an employee. I googled his name, spoke with him, and he informed me that he no longer works for this company. read more

My review is so overdue. Had health issues and never finished it. We had Anne landscape our front and back areas of our home. We have a pool and wanted to plant trees in areas that would give us more privacy. Anne put in "Rose of Sharon" which not only gave us privacy but they blossom throughout the whole summer giving us beauty and colors around the pool! Loved that idea! Since I know nothing about gardening I left it all to her imagination. I do love lots of colors and flowers with low maintenance so she put in an array of plants that bloom throughout the 3 seasons. She also does all of our flower boxes on our decks as well as maintenance! Really love it as I have no time to tend to the garden. My very favorite is my clamadis (sp?) around my light post. Every spring I look forward to seeing it. She's great to work with and has great ideas! Highly recommend her! A bit of advice. Don't expect to see much in the first couple of years especially with certain bushes and trees because it takes awhile for them to fill in. At first I thought the front looked a little sparse but Anne told me to hang in there that this would change. Sure enough everything got fuller and fragrant. We just moved to anew home in Oak Park and to say the back yard and front yard had been neglected is a big understatement. We also had some water issues with the basement foundation and I felt we would need to have underground drainage put in to move the rain water from the downspouts out into the yard away from the house. We also wanted our own little oasis in the backyard to entertain etc. So I knew what I wanted now I just needed someone that would respond and listen and give me some creative feedback. I made a number of calls and once we met and discussed with Anne what we thought we wanted/needed she started to work putting some options together for us. She listened to us and really came up with some fantastic ideas that added a nice creative flair to what we envisioned. So we agreed to work together and I am so glad we did. When her team shows up they really go to work, and I mean WORK. They were professional and courteous and above all they listened to us as well. A great experience all around and we are amazed at how this turned into a neighborhood event. Anne Roberts is outstanding -- truly the best landscaper I've ever encountered. I tried several companies when I was looking to remove the dated, overgrown trees, shrubs and flower beds in front of our home. Anne was the first to approach the project with creativity. The others essentially recommended replacing the overgrown shrubs with new ones (I can purchase 6 boxwoods at any mass market store & put them in the ground myself, thank you very much!). Anne looked at the yard differently and questioned whether it made sense to put a row of shrubs there or a flower bed there... she made thoughtful recommendations that resulted in a low-maintence design with variety and color year-round. We get compliments on the yard all the time. And, when this crazy-hard winter caused a little bit of damage, she made repairs/replacements quickly and free of charge.
