My friend showed me this spot and I loved it! The pizza had a nice thin crust and loaded with flavors. Both the Margherita and Pesto & Burrata pizzas are great choices. Though I usually prefer a non-marinara base, the Margherita pizza at Annesso's really impressed me. I loved how simple and flavorful it was! The burrata on the pesto pizza came cold which really threw me off but it was still good. For pasta option, the Mafaldine stood out and I had to order it. The garlic-butter sauce was the highlight of the dish for me! Service was quick and friendly. I love the ambiance of the restaurant. It does get really busy from what my friend was telling me. But I think it's safe to say I have another favorite spot to eat in Fresno whenever I'm visiting again! read more

We dined at Annesso on 07/26/26 as a party of two, and it was one of the worst dining experiences we've had in a long time. We waited 15 minutes before our server even acknowledged our table. He admitted the wait was "ridiculous" and blamed it on the restaurant being busy, but that doesn't excuse ignoring guests for that long. We ordered the Mafaldine pasta, the Sprouting Cauliflower appetizer to share, a Coke, and a cocktail. The Sprouting Cauliflower appetizer was terrible--bland, unappetizing, and not worth ordering. The pasta was good, but it wasn't enough to make up for the abysmal service. Our Coke didn't arrive until about 20 minutes later, we were never given plates for the appetizer, and our server never once checked on us to see if we needed anything or how our meal was. After asking for to-go boxes, he disappeared yet again. Eventually, we gave up waiting and walked to the front station ourselves to ask for a bag and our check because it was obvious we had been forgotten. As soon as he saw us heading to the front, he rushed over as though he thought we were trying to leave without paying. He immediately printed the check and stood there waiting for payment. When I told him I wanted to review the bill first, he looked genuinely surprised. After I paid, I explained that we had a very poor experience. His only response was that he "tried his best." If that was truly his best, then Annesso has a serious service problem. We watched him provide attentive service to his other tables while ours was consistently ignored from start to finish. No customer should have to chase down their server for basic service, wait excessive amounts of time for drinks, eat a shared appetizer without plates, or get up and request their own check because they've been abandoned. The food alone is not enough to justify returning. Between the terrible appetizer and the unacceptable service, we will never be back. There are far too many restaurants that appreciate their customers and provide the level of service Annesso clearly does not. We will absolutely be sharing our experience with friends and family and cannot recommend this restaurant. read more

First of all I enjoy Annesso's however I have yet to have a memorable experience here. Food is good. I wouldn't say it's as amazing as all the people have recommended to me. They're a very busy environment, and have some tasty cocktails. The star of one of our visits was the server Nolan, he provided exceptional service and I adore when I receive him as a server. I've been back to Annesso a few times now, and it continues to be one of my favorite restaurants in Fresno. We started with the house-fried Mozz Sticks, which are a must-order. They're huge with a perfectly crunchy exterior, and I loved the seasoning on the breading, it gives them so much more flavor than your typical mozzarella sticks. One of the main reasons I keep coming back is their white sauce pizzas. They're rich without feeling too heavy and always hit the spot. If you're a ranch lover please also order the fresh ranch dipping sauce, it's phenomenal and the fresh dill is 2. The salumi sandwich, picture featured here. It's just the perfect sandwich amount for a person to either eat in one sitting or take on the go for the other half. It is rather messy so eating it right away is recommended due to some sauce making the bread soggy if sat too long. Very refreshing, you can't eat it fast enough! My first visit to Annesso Pizzeria and joy was I impressed. It was pretty busy when we arrived but were seated pretty quickly. The waiter offered distilled or carbonated water. He left both at our table in cute little carafes. With the summer heat the water was very refreshing. We ordered the chicken wing appetizer and the sun gold tomato pizza. Let me begin with the wings....They were perfectly crisp (I hate soggy wings.) They were tossed with a perfectly balanced, sweet, tangy with just the right amount of kick that kept you coming back for more. The wings were garnished with thin slices of radish and sesame seeds. If I was at home I would be licking my fingers the sauce was THAT good. The pizza. The crust was a light, soft, and pillowy and didn't compete with the top. Plenty of air pockets that provided a nice balanced chew. The bottom was evenly browned without being hard or dry. Every bite was simple but incredibly satisfying proving that you don't need a long list of toppings. The tomatoes were perfectly cooked Not your regular gummy pizza that sits in your stomach screaming for a tums. Service was exceptional. After flying into Fresno, took both my boys out for pizza. We had to stop by Trader Joe's, and searched yelp! Thank you, Yelp! For helping us find Annesso's! Walking in on a Friday night we knew there would be a wait. Sure enough at 7:00pm, we were told 1.5hrs wait. So no biggie we did a small shop at Trader Joe's and dropped off the groceries home. And right on the hour we were texted that our tables ready and they'd hold it for 10mins. Great!! We got there in time, sat straight down and ordered straight away.. Starters came out in 5mins - wow! Then followed by our pizzas straight away. Food was delicious! Ambience was lively and buzzing with chit chat, laughter and clinking of glasses. The dinning room was full; however the staff still gave excellent service. We ordered the wings to start off the meal; they were delicious. Came with half dozen wings with a side of ranch. The sauce on these wings were to die for. I could have easily ordered a bottle of this sauce to go. The soup was good; hearty but very expensive! I think the soup was $11, wasn't feeling well so wanted to try it. Side of bread was extra $3 to go with the soup. We ordered a pizza with pepperoni and jalapeños with a drizzle of honey on top. Plenty of toppings , and the honey added just a touch of sweetness. The crust was so delicious, we ate the whole thing. My only complaint would be, the waitress asked if we wanted a side of ranch to go with our pizza .... Of course we said yes! They brought over sides of ranch for everyone at the table and charged $1 for each one. Wish before they offered they made sure we were aware of the cost. I made a reservation, but when I got there, they still made us wait 10 minutes even though we were just 2 people and there were plenty of empty tables. After they finally seated us, they gave us water and then we waited more. They sat another couple next to us after another 10 minutes and immediately took their order. After the waitress was done taking their order, she was about to walk away and I called out to her and asked when someone was going to take our order. She lied and said she was just about to do that... then why was she clearly walking away. I'm 100% sure we got forgotten. Already a bad start. The food of course took a long time to get to us. When it finally did, it was just the fries. That kept us busy until the pizza came. From the time we got there at our reservation time until the time the pizza got to our table took approximately 25 minutes. Unacceptable. The food wasn't even amazing or anything. Stopped in Fresno for a flight tomorrow... Admitingly, I saw Heirloom on a list of trending places in Fresno and was sold on it, but saw the line out the door at 5pm and changed my mind. Annesso Pizzeria was super busy tonight but was the perfect spot for Italian (and being from Buffalo, we are hard to please when it comes to Italian food!) The Parmesan fries are SOOO good- super thin and crispy with chili oil... we shared the pepperoni jalapeño pizza (which was very good but sooo spicy!) and my dad had the chicken parm and I also had a market peach salad to cut through all the cheese... very fresh and the dressing was light enough for all the greens. Everything was wonderful, even the tiramisu we finished the meal off with. We eat tiramisu whenever we see it and it was pretty solid. Our server was Red and they were wonderful! If we're ever in the area we would totally come back! The ambience was really welcoming and I loved being able to watch the service staff, all the bartenders and the boys throwing pizza dough in the back. Our first time here, we schedule a reservation which is recommended they are pretty busy hearing from the wait times they have. We were seated pretty quickly offered if we wanted anything to drink, we took a while looking over all the menu and as our eyes wondered what other customers ordered.
