Annesso is always amazing! We stopped by for lunch today and arrived just a minute before they opened at 11. We had tried to make reservations earlier in the day, but it showed they were already full. The hostesses opened the doors right on time and were quick and welcoming with the line of about 6-8 parties that had already formed. When they let us know there would be a short wait for a table that could accommodate our party, we opted to sit at the bar instead. The bartender (male, curly hair) was extremely friendly and made us delicious mocktails. They had watermelon and mint and it was fantastic and definitely worth trying if you want something light and refreshing! I ordered the Salumi sandwich, which is genuinely my favorite sandwich of all time. I order it every time I visit, and as always, it did not disappoint! The bread seriously couldn't be better, and all of the ingredients taste incredibly fresh. My coworker ordered the Alfredo pasta and said she loved it as well. It was definitely lively and quite loud inside, but sitting at the bar didn't feel overwhelming at all. Everything was fast, extremely friendly and professional, and most importantly, delicious. Annesso continues to be one of my favorite lunch spots. Highly recommend for lunch. read more

We dined at Annesso on 07/26/26 as a party of two, and it was one of the worst dining experiences we've had in a long time. We waited 15 minutes before our server even acknowledged our table. He admitted the wait was "ridiculous" and blamed it on the restaurant being busy, but that doesn't excuse ignoring guests for that long. We ordered the Mafaldine pasta, the Sprouting Cauliflower appetizer to share, a Coke, and a cocktail. The Sprouting Cauliflower appetizer was terrible--bland, unappetizing, and not worth ordering. The pasta was good, but it wasn't enough to make up for the abysmal service. Our Coke didn't arrive until about 20 minutes later, we were never given plates for the appetizer, and our server never once checked on us to see if we needed anything or how our meal was. After asking for to-go boxes, he disappeared yet again. Eventually, we gave up waiting and walked to the front station ourselves to ask for a bag and our check because it was obvious we had been forgotten. As soon as he saw us heading to the front, he rushed over as though he thought we were trying to leave without paying. He immediately printed the check and stood there waiting for payment. When I told him I wanted to review the bill first, he looked genuinely surprised. After I paid, I explained that we had a very poor experience. His only response was that he "tried his best." If that was truly his best, then Annesso has a serious service problem. We watched him provide attentive service to his other tables while ours was consistently ignored from start to finish. No customer should have to chase down their server for basic service, wait excessive amounts of time for drinks, eat a shared appetizer without plates, or get up and request their own check because they've been abandoned. The food alone is not enough to justify returning. Between the terrible appetizer and the unacceptable service, we will never be back. There are far too many restaurants that appreciate their customers and provide the level of service Annesso clearly does not. We will absolutely be sharing our experience with friends and family and cannot recommend this restaurant. read more

Made a reservation for 5 pm and we were sat right away. Our waiter was very attentive and someone made sure we always had a clear table after we were done with a plate. They checked on us to make sure our food was okay and another to make sure we got plenty of water which was really nice. I loved how you could see the giant pizza oven and the bar area is aesthetically pleasing. The food was amazing I loved the parm fries they weren't too spicy I have a low tolerance. The pasta was sensational the chunks of shrimp were nice and thick and I loved the pasta noodles that were paired with it. First of all I enjoy Annesso's however I have yet to have a memorable experience here. Food is good. I wouldn't say it's as amazing as all the people have recommended to me. They're a very busy environment, and have some tasty cocktails. The star of one of our visits was the server Nolan, he provided exceptional service and I adore when I receive him as a server. I've been back to Annesso a few times now, and it continues to be one of my favorite restaurants in Fresno. We started with the house-fried Mozz Sticks, which are a must-order. They're huge with a perfectly crunchy exterior, and I loved the seasoning on the breading, it gives them so much more flavor than your typical mozzarella sticks. One of the main reasons I keep coming back is their white sauce pizzas. They're rich without feeling too heavy and always hit the spot. This visit, we ordered the Funghi Misti, which had an incredible savory, umami flavor that really let the mushrooms shine. The Scampi pizza was another favorite. The shrimp tasted fresh, and I appreciated that they didn't hold back on the garlic. If you're a garlic lover, you'll definitely enjoy this dish. I've had quite a few of the items from here and can say I really do recommend this place. 1. Their traditional marg pizza is an absolute must. If you're a ranch lover please also order the fresh ranch dipping sauce, it's phenomenal and the fresh dill is 2. The salumi sandwich, picture featured here. It's just the perfect sandwich amount for a person to either eat in one sitting or take on the go for the other half. It is rather messy so eating it right away is recommended due to some sauce making the bread soggy if sat too long. Very refreshing, you can't eat it fast enough! My friend showed me this spot and I loved it! The pizza had a nice thin crust and loaded with flavors. Both the Margherita and Pesto & Burrata pizzas are great choices. Though I usually prefer a non-marinara base, the Margherita pizza at Annesso's really impressed me. I loved how simple and flavorful it was! The burrata on the pesto pizza came cold which really threw me off but it was still good. For pasta option, the Mafaldine stood out and I had to order it. If I was at home I would be licking my fingers the sauce was THAT good. The pizza. The crust was a light, soft, and pillowy and didn't compete with the top. Plenty of air pockets that provided a nice balanced chew. The bottom was evenly browned without being hard or dry. Every bite was simple but incredibly satisfying proving that you don't need a long list of toppings. The tomatoes were perfectly cooked Not your regular gummy pizza that sits in your stomach screaming for a tums. Service was exceptional. Walking in on a Friday night we knew there would be a wait. Sure enough at 7:00pm, we were told 1.5hrs wait. So no biggie we did a small shop at Trader Joe's and dropped off the groceries home. Then followed by our pizzas straight away. Food was delicious! Ambience was lively and buzzing with chit chat, laughter and clinking of glasses. If you are in the mood for the best calzone you've ever had, Annesso's is the place! First of all, they're huge, so plan on sharing with 1 or 2 (or 3) more people, they're perfectly cooked, the crust is out of this world delicious and the sauce on the side is a great complement to the calzone (it's not necessary, but I wouldn't eat it without it). But, even if you aren't feeling a calzone, they have a lot of other really good options, their salads being one. I love their kale salad and the Italiano (it's chopped!), you can't go wrong. They have really good appetizers, drinks (espresso martini anyone?!), coffee selection and even desserts. Annesso's is a great choice all around whether for a lunch date or a girls night out! The sauce on these wings were to die for. I could have easily ordered a bottle of this sauce to go. The soup was good; hearty but very expensive! I think the soup was $11, wasn't feeling well so wanted to try it. Side of bread was extra $3 to go with the soup. We ordered a pizza with pepperoni and jalapeños with a drizzle of honey on top. Plenty of toppings , and the honey added just a touch of sweetness. The crust was so delicious, we ate the whole thing. My only complaint would be, the waitress asked if we wanted a side of ranch to go with our pizza .... Of course we said yes! They brought over sides of ranch for everyone at the table and charged $1 for each one. Wish before they offered they made sure we were aware of the cost. I made a reservation, but when I got there, they still made us wait 10 minutes even though we were just 2 people and there were plenty of empty tables. After they finally seated us, they gave us water and then we waited more. They sat another couple next to us after another 10 minutes and immediately took their order. After the waitress was done taking their order, she was about to walk away and I called out to her and asked when someone was going to take our order. She lied and said she was just about to do that... then why was she clearly walking away. I'm 100% sure we got forgotten. Already a bad start. The food of course took a long time to get to us. When it finally did, it was just the fries. That kept us busy until the pizza came. From the time we got there at our reservation time until the time the pizza got to our table took approximately 25 minutes. Unacceptable. The food wasn't even amazing or anything.
