Ok let me start off by saying this was my first time but I will definitely be back to try out more options from the menu. The owners put Catarina aka (cat). Well she is amazing and just talking to her in this short time that I was there you can definitely hear her love for food and our community. Her and her husband put a lot of time into this restaurant to make sure the quality is perfect at every bite in everything they cook. What helps this pizza taste great is the style of their brick oven. It's the only way to have a really good pizza cooked. Came here starving and wanted to try a new place for Italian food. I also intently searched for a place serves carbonara and we landed here. We dined in and the service was fine. I liked the pancetta/porcino in the carbonara; it was crunchy, but I wish they added the drippings into the sauce for extra depth. Probably needed more parm reg in the sauce also. Stopped by on the way home from a Drs. visit for lunch. I really like pizza so we ordered a whole pie and salad to take home for leftovers. Now I grew up on the east coast and had had many a slice. Update: For everyone who reads this review, look how the below business owners responded to a customer who shared their experience. No accountability or owning up to their mistakes, which is what any good and humble business owner would do. Lastly, these business owners also looked up my phone number in their system after I posted this and tried calling me after 8:30p multiple times over over at home which is a direct violation of privacy. Many better pizza places to give your business to. - Not living up to the hype at all. We ordered a BYO pizza which was decent, actually the best part of the order. The rest fell flat. Cesar salad was absolute garbage. I got the larger salad which was around $15 and I was given a sad salad of old romaine that was mostly the white stem. Which, may I add was going bad and not white it was getting that weird orange-pink looking color. We had the truffle knots which tasted hard and stale. It is reminiscent of when you try to microwave certain bread products and the item because chewy and hard. There was minimal butter/oil to coat them and lightly sprinkled with Parmesan. Total fail. With tip it was around $66 for food that wasn't enjoyable. With tons of other options in the pizza category, this one is not on the list. While the service was excellent, the staff helpful and friendly, the food just didn't do it for me. I ordered the 16 inch Hawaiian with extra sauce and the cucumber salad. While both presented beautifully, each had a couple issues. The salad looks super impressive in the pictures, but it's essentially just vegetables, a few olives, some cucumbers with olive oil dump on top. There were not enough olives and it totally lacked flavor.... A splash of balsamic definitely would've helped, but there were also too few olives. And while I don't particularly go for super salty food... the olives even lacked the note. Often the play of the natural cucumbers constrast with the salt of the olives adding a nice flavor. It's missing here and the salad simple lacks flavor. Would have liked some spices or something more unique. The Hawaiian style pizza was fairly average. The sauce did not have any type of robust quality and was pretty basic. How about using MORE garlic? The ham was so paper thin that it tasted like rice paper. Can hardly even taste it! And, as a result, it offers no contrast! The pineapple was not sweet whatsoever and so was kind of a nothing texture thing... the crust was pretty basic as well. I have lived back east and the claim to be in 'New York-like' is pretty tall. Perhaps so tall that NONE should make it! Also, the lightest of the TOO DANG light dusting of oregano or whatever they shake on it was so very little. Why bother? Would LOVE to have some more pronounced notes here. The pizza was $27 and the cucumber salad was 14 for the large size. The description of the pizza said Canadian bacon. Whoever has had a piece of paper, rice paper thin Canadian bacon? It's a total fabrication! Sure, if by that they mean a thin crust ... even Domino's has that. I was surprised, since I told them I was eating in house, that they didn't bring me the salad while I was waiting after 10 minutes. Pecs were hangry and I had to get up and ask for it while I was waiting. I'm sure the toppings are quality, but they certainly lacked flavor. The olives lacked savoriness, the ham was rice paper thin and the pineapple had no sweet notes whatsoever. Who won the world ever had a piece of Canadian bacon that was paper thin?? How are those even possible? How are vegetables soaking in oil a salad? How can spices and flavors be missing? Even a spritz of an orange or a lemon would've been helpful on the salad. I hope the rest of the food isn't as bland/basic. I'm looking to be captivated upon the first bite with much more flavorful experiences. My Hawaiian pizza itch that I felt today did not get burned. Tbh, I wasn't expecting to like this place. Italian food at a fast food type environment ? I agreed to give it a try, but had very low expectations. When you walk in , you are immediately hit upside the head by the smell of pizza and garlic, The menu is quite extensive, and it all sounds really good. For lunch, I opted for the Chef's special which was a braised beef ravioli dish. While the flavor was on point, the amount of raviolis were absurd considering the 24.00 price point. My dish came with about 8 raviolis - not enough of a portion for a chubby Sicilian like me, My better half had the half meatball and salad combo, I managed to sneak a bite of the meatball sub and was impressed. The meatballs had a ton of flavor and the bread itself was soft yet sturdy enough to hold up, However, the best part of our meal was the garlic knots. 5 out 5 on the knots! Wow! The food here is amazing and the service is fast and friendly. We ordered mozzarella frites, a chicken parm sandwich, and their classic stromboli. I can't get over how delicious everything was, with the entire family truly loving the mozzarella frites. These are massive mozzarella sticks coated in seasoned batter and lightly fried. These are pricey, but you get eight massive sticks per order. The chicken parm sando and the Stromboli are a for sure reorder. The bread used for the sandwich was toasted, but still super soft. The crunchiness of the bread paired with the sauced and juicy chicken parm was a texture filled flavor bomb! If you love garlic bread loaded with veggies, meats and cheeses; then order a Stromboli. You're welcome! We ordered our food to go, but they do have a small dining area with tables and small booths. We ordered a medium pizza NY Classic style with pepperoni, mushrooms and crumble sausage. The pizza was thin crust which I liked and the sauce was okay not much flavor to it but they had other selections for sauces. The service was fine, there was a female server who was very tentative of us and also checked up on us to see how the food was. Overall the experience was fine. The price for the 3 items and 2 drinks plus tip came out to $100. The rate was based on food quality and cost. I found this pizza spot through Yelp so decided to make a drive out there, and I'm so glad it did the pizza is so delicious! I tried the doppio pizza along with the pepperoni so so good and full of flavor I also ordered a side of mozzarella sticks and garlic knots they were also good. The owner is beyond nice he found out we made the drive out there from Bakersfield and he gave us two slices of carrot cake which was also amazing, he was also kind enough to let us taste the pesto and omg one of the best pestos I've tried. read more

This was my first time trying this spot based off Yelp suggestions. As you walk in the employee's are friendly and welcoming. It's a quite nice clean restaurant with a good amount of seating. You order at the counter then sit down while your food is prepared. The Prosciutto & Burrata Bruschetta was really good and refreshing, perfect balance of flavors with a nice dressing on top. The truffle mushroom pizza was good and fresh, something I typically wouldn't order but it was a nice change-up. Our server was very very nice, she was attentive and sweet especially with my little girl. The wine was a good pairing with the food s far. Later added a tortellini chicken soup... it was ok, I bit bland and underwhelming. My daughter got her own slice of truffle pepperoni pizza and enjoyed it, the thin pizza was easy for her to eat. Was craving Italian Food and something we haven't tried before. After a quick Yelp search we ended up here for dinner. It's a small restaurant with tables/booth seating. The workers were so nice, they greeted us as we entered. We were dining in so they said we could take a menu and have a seat and order at the front when we were ready. They are also kid friendly, they gave my daughter coloring paper with crayons. We decided on the New York Village pizza, shrimp rosso, baked ziti and 5 pc of lemon pepper wings. Everything came out fast and at the same time. The pastas were delicious and had so much flavors. The pizza was thin crust alittle flimsy but loaded with toppings and was really good. The lemon pepper chicken was cooked well but I felt there was overwhelming amounts of seasoning on parts of the chicken, wish it was coated alittle bit more evenly because made it a bit too salty with the first bite. Overall it was great experience. Great customer service the restaurant and restrooms were clean. Will recommend and will return. read more

I walked by this place on an empty stomach one night and stared in the window, the food looked so good! I made a mental note to return, and a month later here I sat with some friends for a weekday dinner. The restaurant wasn't very busy and the staff was really friendly as we sat and waited on the rest of our group. You place an order at the counter and they deliver it to your table. We ordered salads, pasta, calzone and pizzas. The bread used on the calzone is very good and fresh. The table all enjoyed their meal and finished their plates. I have several items here. Their pizza is wonderful. I also love their spaghetti with meatballs. It was served piping hot, has a great flavor, meatballs are wonderful. I have also had the spaghetti with the Italian sausage which is very good. I don't like many places because they don't put enough sauce with the spaghetti. This is absolutely not true for Russo's. Finally came back to try the Pomodoro pizza for about $25 (medium). We've paid about that much for other well known pizza places in Fresno. We called to order and picked up to take home to eat. We're about 20 mins away. Although the pizza cooled off a lot, it was still crispy while the crust was soft. We almost finished the pizza and said to each other, "Imagine how this would have tasted if we got it fresh?" We love Russo's pizza even when it's 20 min out and not even hot anymore. Officially - this is our favorite place to get pizza in Fresno. I love NY style pizza and this is spot is on point. I wish it was closer to home. Hubs and I had dinner here twice last week... we were in town for a few days and our standard 1st night in a new place is pizza because it's usually easy to find and requires little research/thought. Russo's was such a great find we went back a 2nd night for pasta. As East Coasters, the NY pizza is the real deal. Great crust, nice sauce distribution, flavorful cheese and crumbled sausage. The spaghetti and meatballs was a nice serving, heavy on the garlic (a plus for me). The hubs had the seafood fra diavolo and was quite pleased. The service was great! Just the friendliest people! I have been here 5 times in 2 months. The 14" slice brings me back every time. The staff is awesome as well (shout out: Sonya was super nice and helpful) and they seem genuinely happy to be sending out top notch food. Far as I can tell this is a scratch kitchen -- in particular the sauces, and of course the dough. That's extra important for a pizza! My intro to this place was a friend who brought a 28" pie home one time. Let me tell you it will impress. Tried Russo's New York Pizzeria for the first time and really enjoyed it! It was a great lunch spot. I had the Caesar salad, fettuccine Alfredo, and the Italian Works pizza. The Alfredo was creamy and delicious, perfect to share. The pizza was super flavorful and definitely worth trying. Our food came out pretty quickly, which was a nice bonus. THIS PLACE BLOWS ME AWAY!! It might be the best pizza I've ever had. My sister and I were dumbfounded when we shared the truffle burrata prosciutto pizza. We each had a bite and then just stared at each other while processing the reality of what we had just tasted. It was one of those meals where our expectations were annihilated and it was a meal we will remember for a long time...maybe forever. It was a simple, elegant pizza. It's worth noting that we opted for the cauliflower crust, which maintained its structural integrity nicely.
