I came here last Wednesday with my daughter to get her ears pierced. She is 2 1/2 so I knew she was going to cry but I thought she was going to be more excited. First I paid $120 which is a little steep but I knew my daughter was going to be in great hands. My daughter and I were placed in a room and one of the nurse gave me a placard of all of the earrings that I could pick for my daughter. I picked the smaller gold earring for April's birthstone. The doctor came in and explained everything to me. She gave me an ear cleaning solution to use on my daughter at home and she showed me the earrings and then I realized they were too small. I asked the doctor if I could get the bigger size and she got them. I really appreciate that. The doctor cleaned my daughter's ears 3 times on each side and used a marker to mark where the earrings would go. I was happy with the placement and the doctor even asked if I was comfortable holding my daughter and I was. The doctor pierced the 1 ear and my daughter started crying and then switched to the other side and pierced the other side. My daughter was crying for quite some time and she was very angry at me on the ride home. Almost a week later her ears and piercing looks great. An update if you need to get one ear re-pierced: one of the earrings fell off my baby's ears and I called to see about getting the one ear pierced. Lady on the phone explained I would still need to pay full price as all items have to be opened and on top of that, their price went up to $165 this year. I previously paid $135 & later $150 for both my daughters two separate years. It's unfortunate because things like this happen often I'm sure and the fact that I have to pay full price for one ear sucks. Will be searching for another place that can help me with my baby's ear. This in no way changes my opinion about the great service I received both times with my girls and the friendly and courteous service I received from the doctor and nurse. I also do understand that they have these "sets" they use that have to be opened and they believe that is why charging full price is reasonable and fair. I just wasn't expecting to not only pay full price but now $15 extra as their prices increased yet again. I can't justify spending that much for one ear. read more

I was looking to get my two month old daughter's ear pierced and found Dr. Liu. I was able to make a same day appointment which was nice. I was told they do ear piercings on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. Over the phone they told me the price for the piercing, which also included the earrings, so I was well aware beforehand. After a number of research, I decided to pierce my child's ears with Dr. Liu Annette. I was very excited when I arrived to the clinic because it was very clean & easy to check in (appointment is required). A nurse kindly showed us to our room (Privacy, YES!) and showed us our options for earrings, which was very limited(only bummer). Within minutes, Dr. Liu Annette arrived and was very friendly. She explained the process and also home care cleaning process and made sure that I was confident with all the information. Excellent Pediatric ear piercing services, which Dr. Liu performs herself! I live in Orange County, and decided I was not going to risk having a mall employee at Claire's do something this important. I also did not like the reviews I saw regarding tattoo parlors that perform kids' ear piercing, and the small handful of Pediatricians in OC that perform this service require you to be their patient first. Dr. Liu does not require this, and performs ear piercing for non-patients too. Dr. Liu was great with my daughter and eased her fears. She includes beautiful stud earrings which are gold plated to avoid skin reactions. My daughter enjoyed picking from the big variety offered to her. Dr. Liu drew dots on both ears and made sure we were both okay with the location before she performed the piercing. She also provided antibacterial gel and clear after care instructions. My daughter recently had her ears pierced by Dr Liu. She's 16 months old and probably too old to get them done lol. Because she was very suspicious about the whole ordeal. The process was easy, pick the earrings, doc marks ear and asks what you think...I asked her to change location. Then the drama started...the poor nurse holding my big girl...and my poor baby was crying. Well maybe screaming...the nurse and doc were patient. Earrings look great and not at all red or irritated. Using the cleaner 2x/day. Just unclear about training stud, but I'll ask in questions for answer. $105 for earrings, piercing and cleaning solution. $95 for patients. The process was so quick! They only let one parent in for the process due to covid, but the doctor allowed my husband to switch for the procedure. You'll start with choosing the earrings and then she'll go over with after care instructions and makes sure you do not have other questions before proceeding. My first impression with dr. Liu was beyond my expectation. I'm kinda skeptical in the beginning because the staff doesn't invest time to acknowledge my little ones. They're not bad at all but I expect more like children friendly environment. None of them acknowledged my little one or at least offer here some stickers or anything. if they don't have stuff to give a way (no problem) but acknowledge THE PATIENT. I worked in a pediatric setting too so I expect more on this type of office. Dr. Liu has a very good demeanor when talking to my children, very thorough on her exam and She takes her time explaining as if we were the only ones there. I decided to finally get my 6 month old's ears pierced. I was surprised to call on Tuesday (day after Christmas) and manage to get a same day appointment. The location is easy to find, right off the 405 in front of the civic center, and there's free parking. The waiting area is clean, open and has a little area for the kids to play. I paid the $85 and waited for Dr. Liu. I first chose the earrings, which are either gold or surgical stainless steel. There are many different colors a couple different styles. You also have to sign a waiver. The Dr. finally came in and she was delightful. She explained the process, how to care for the ears (fee includes healing solution), and the fact that she has done hundreds of piercings. She thoroughly cleaned my daughter's ears with alcohol and marked them, taking her time. As expected, my daughter screamed bloody murder both times. I'm very happy with having gone with Dr. Liu. Sure it might cost a little more but you have piece of mind since it is a kind and knowledgable doctor piercing your precious baby's ears. Skip the mall and check her out. read more

She takes her time with each patient and is sure to answer all of our questions. We are first time parents and wanted to be involved in the health care decision for our child. Frustrating experience here. This office disappointed my daughter and she left in tears. I made an ear piercing appointment for my daughter and she was really looking forward to it. It took 50 minutes in traffic (not to mention the price of gas) to get to the office. We waited for 15 min in the waiting room as the front desk staff tried to unsuccessfully charge my credit card and then my debit card due to their machine being offline (apparently they had a power outage earlier). They asked if I can reschedule for the end of the week, which is a huge inconvenience for me to rearrange my schedule and drive out there again. Or I can drive to the 7-11 and get cash from the ATM machine there (I wasn't carrying $150 cash for the ear piercing). This did not work for me as I would've been charged an ATM fee and then another fee from my bank for using a non-bank ATM. I understand that they had no control over the power outage but I can think of other options, rather than SHIFT THE BURDEN TO THEIR CUSTOMER! They could have made a simple quick phone call prior to my appointment time to let me know that it's cash only and I would've factored that into my schedule and stop at an ATM/bank. They could've made a phone call to their payment processor and process the transaction over the phone with my credit card info. They could have written down my credit card info and input it later when their machine is back online. Instead, they made it obvious that my time was not valuable so we left with no ears pierced. read more
