Dr. Sergis has been our pediatrician since the birth of both of my children. They love her. They're never scared of her. They go happily and even after a vaccination come back happy too. She is thorough, kind, offers great advice and never pushes medication. I love that. My kids are now 13 and 10 and it feels like yesterday that we brought our kids in for their first check up after birth. We actually found Dr. Sergis because we asked the nurses and doctors in the maternity ward who the best pediatrician was and all of them said Dr. Laura Sergis. My daughter was born 3 weeks early and she was a tiny baby and Dr. Sergis has taken such good care of her and always steered us in the right direction. I love how she speaks to the kids and not just the parents. They have always loved her and still do. Now with the bad. Because Dr. Sergis is an amazing pediatrician she is BUSY but it's definitely worth the way. Also with the TMPN network if there is an issue(fevers, rash, kids get hurt, tummy aches etc), there is always someone available within the network to see your child. Love her. She's amazing. While Dr. Sergis is a wonderful pediatrician, we are leaving the practice because it is incredibly difficult to get a hold of anyone on the phone for urgent matters and they do not respond to voicemails. It seems they have the front receptionist handling all of the clerical tasks as well as acting as the nurse advice point of contact.... which is way too much for the amount of patients they take. :( read more

I love Dr Laura Sergis has been seeing my 9 month baby boy since he was born and she is really loving and caring with my son. She makes sure she answers all my questions and is very informative. I have also made same day appointments with ease and even if I left a question for her nurse they call back the same day with my questions answered. Amazing amazing amazing doctor!!! My 6 yr old kid absolutely loves her. He had fallen off his bike and got 4 stiches. She helped my son take out stiches so easily. I would give 0 stars if I could...Dr. Sergis was my boys pediatrician since birth (11 years). While she is a great doctor, throughout the years we had issues with scheduling and it always seemed their phones were not working properly so we often had to take the kids to Urgent Care. About a year ago, we had a situation with the office staff being very rude over the phone. They called to cancel my son's physical a week before (mind you it had been scheduled months in advance) and then went further to say they had 0 openings until the end of the following month (about 5-6 weeks). I was off work and available 24/7 but they couldn't find any time despite the fact it was them cancelling the appointment. We ended up calling Blue Shield and switching doctors and then had another issue when it came time to transfer records, so I ultimately filed a grievance. Fast forward to now, our insurance has switched and I had limited options on pediatricians outside of Children's Medical Group who were accepting patients so I decided to give them another try. I called the office and was rudely told by Brenda Valdez that once a patient leaves the practice they can never come back. I tried explaining the kids had been assigned to Dr. Sergis and I was just calling to make an appointment and she (continuing to be rude) told me their office policy supersedes insurance and that she would not make the appointment. I ended up calling Blue Shield, filing another grievance and switching doctors. As I mentioned earlier, I have no issue with Dr. Sergis, however her staff (especially the ones who answer the phones and are the first point of contact) ultimately represent her, and that's too bad...I personally would never allow such disrespectful, rude people to work for me; there are plenty of qualified good humans looking for employment! read more

I absolutely love Dr. Sergis. She's been seeing my daughter since she was born, she is now 14 months. The medical group visited us in the hospital and introduced us to the drs and we loved it. The staff is also very friends especially the nurses that help you in the rooms. Very kid friendly with little TVs in the exam rooms and a large fish tank that my daughter is obsessed with. I'm so happy that dr sergis is under my health insurance plan. Everyone is amazing. read more

From the ladies at the front desk, the nurses and everyone else involved in my son's treatment were always caring and professional. I wanted to give an updated review on Dr. Sergis and her office... My daughter had an emergency surgery on Monday. I was told by the hospital and the surgeon to follow up with my daughters pediatrician. I called yesterday and spent 1 hour trying to get through to someone. Apparently their phones are broken again, this happened a few months ago too. I was told then that they were getting new phones. Yesterday they said "we are getting them for sure this time, I promise". I found out a friend of mine had the same problem trying to get through awhile ago. How can you run a successful doctors office with phones that don't work? Anyways, when I finally got through to someone she was very rude to me. "Why would we see your daughter, we didn't do the surgery?". She was extremely rude and would not schedule me a doctors appt. I was just shocked. Any other doctor would have loved to see their patient and make sure they are healing well, regardless of if they did the procedure or not. I will NOT ever go back to this office. I've had way too many problems with the office staff and lack of care from Dr. Sergis. I am finding a new pediatrician today. read more

Dr. Sergis is a wonderful pediatrician: attentive, knowledgeable, and very caring. Our baby LOVES her! She's got a very calming presence. She's also a sage regarding preemies and their special development schedules (many nurses working in the NICU mentioned that they took their children to her--that's when you know someone's quality!). When we learned our baby had a heart condition, she got in touch with our baby's cardiologist and really explained it thoroughly for us, giving us ample time to ask questions. She NEVER makes you feel rushed. In terms of requests, referrals, or doctor's notes, she's very speedy and proactive. Awesome! read more

We absolutely LOVE Dr. Sergis! After moving back to the South Bay from Texas I was not so thrilled about having to look for another Pediatrician for my (at the time 9 mo old) daughter as we really liked her Doctor in Texas but my old neighbor recommended Dr. Sergis and I'm so happy he did! She is VERY thorough, takes time to listen to any questions or concerns (no matter the amount) and is extremely responsive. Not to mention amazing with the kiddos. Her staff said that they will not see my new born baby for a checkup because she isn't on the insurance. I told them that it's a process and because she is new to this world it would take time for the insurance to reflect that she was on there. instead of seeing my daughter, her staff told my wife on the day of the appointment that she would have to cancel the appointment. keep in mind that we have another child that goes to her already with the same insurance. instead of looking at the whole situation and making an informed decision, Christine the elegibilty clerk decided to make sure she was paid regardless of the situation. We are going to find a doctor who has staff that cares about there patients and can look objectivley at every situation. 2 patients leaving her practice won't make a difference but maybe this post will inform anyone making a decision about their child's medical team. Dr Laura, your staff is a reflection of you and right now it's not looking good. read more

Dr Sergis is AWESOME!!! She truly is the best doctor ever!!! I Our daughter was a micro preemie and Dr. Sergis has been there since the day we left the hospital. All the NICU nurses that we valued recommended her. She has ALWAYS followed through with her lab work and tests and personally calls to give us the results herself. She ALWAYS calls and checks on our daughter after we have seen her on a sick visit. She has personally sat with us and listened to our daughters symptoms to diagnosis an issue that even the specialists had not determined. She takes the extra time to really listen and is so caring, kind and good to her patients and their parents. We have NEVER felt rushed with her! She has always given us great information and guidance on our daughters yearly well checks. She is brilliant too! Dr. Sergis went to excellent schools and did her residency at Children's Hospital LA-one of the toughest hospitals in the country! I adore Dr. Sergis. As a nervous new parent, I put off having to make the all-important choice about a pediatrician until the last minute - literally until after I gave birth. In the hospital, Dr. Sergis was the physician on call and making the rounds that weekend. My husband and I were so delighted with her calm bedside manner and her clear expertise on babies that we immediately decided to choose her as our pediatrician. Now, about ten months later, we are so happy that we chose Dr. Sergis. We have had to see Dr. Sergis and contact her office multiple times, and each time she has been so responsive, caring, and thorough. (I can't speak to the responsiveness of the office, but Dr. Sergis herself has been phenomenal.) She was extremely supportive with my initial decisions to breastfeed vs. formula feed (I ended up doing a combo of both), and the tough first months after childbirth were made so much easier because Dr. Sergis understood that both mom and child needed to be healthy. Also, my husband is an MD as well, and as such is (understandably) super picky about who he trusts to see our kid. It's a measure of how much he trusts her that any time we have any sort of mysterious baby ailment (weird poops? strange vomiting? wonky eyes?), he immediately says, "Ask Dr. Sergis." If we were to ever move from the South Bay, we would drive hours just so we could continue to have our child be cared for by Dr. Sergis. read more
