A LOVELY BAR! We had a great time sipping on multiple drinks at this bar. The bartender was very friendly and helped us pick out our drinks based on flavors we like. Their menu here is very interesting, with different unique drink recipes made by the different bartenders on staff. I loved to see that creativity shine! Drinks also seemed cheaper than across the railroad tracks, heck yeah! We did not indulge in food, but the food that did come out from the kitchen smelled absolutely delicious, we will definitely be coming in for a meal next time we're in town.

This place was absolutely AMAZING!! We walked in and loved the vibe. The service was wonderful aa well as the food and cocktails.

Fantastic service. Complex yet simply amazing cocktails. Barb was a phenomenal bartender. She gave us a history crash course of how this bar came out and why it has such unique architecture. Food portions were actually much larger than I thought- yelp says this is tapas. Prices were so reasonable (coming from DC area.) We had nachos and smashburger. Generous amount of guac on nachos. Keep it that way y'all! The vibe was very cozy and cool. I liked the dark farmhouse interior design. I'm so happy we stopped here!

Super small intimate bar. I forgot the name of my drink but it was tequila based and just okay. I didn't care too much for it. I will say our server was great and attentive and knowledgeable about the menu.

Smash burger bun was incredible. And I'm not a bread fan. The bartender was crafting uber unique cocktails; you know, Really interrogating guests for information to make a super personalized and awesome alcoholic experience for each guest. Fun to listen to the conversations and questions she came up with others at the bar. Live music was great. And when that ended st 9pm, the house music playlist was even better--super cool and

Amazing cocktails and great apps at the bar. Best Brussels sprouts ever! Very nice young lady behind the bar took great cared of us. Was a great place to pregame for a concert.

My friends and I stopped by Annex Cocktail Lounge for a couple drinks during a weekend Flagstaff getaway. We went on a Monday night so it wasn't busy at all - we were able to get a table immediately. The ambience was really comfortable. They have a diverse variety of drink options in their booklet-style menu. Definitely something for every palate. We actually couldn't decide which ones we wanted so the bartender chose for us! Bartenders were awesome btw - super helpful and friendly. We ended staying about an hour and had two drinks each and that was perfect - left happy and buzzed on our way to dinner. Definitely check this place out, I would return in a heartbeat.

Great cocktail lounge with great vibes. We came in and they had a band playing. It was super busy so the service was slower, but it was friendly. Definitely will come back if I'm in town.

Really fun, creative drinks! Pretty cozy place and the food is good, too. My favorite drinks were the BBL and Rocky Shores. Fast and friendly service. I was just in town for a night and heard this was the best bar in Flagstaff; glad I stopped in.

Dinner and drinks at the Annex Lounge did not disappoint. The vibes were spot on for an upscale hipster food and drink experience without being pretentious. The food menu is simple with less than 20 items but their cocktail options and daily drink specials are endless. The team is attentive and efficient without hovering. The attention to detail from cleanliness to the curated music selection at just the right volume to set a mood without drowning out your conversation usually comes with a much higher price and an extra side of attitude. Not at the Annex. You don't often find a place that uses fresh ingredients and makes their own ketchup and ranch in house while still being down to earth and a great hangout. The icing on the cake is their spacious dog friendly patio.

We came here primarily to enjoy the fire pit, but the entire experience was worthwhile. We checked in at the host stand and the gent advised that there would be a wait for a table, so we were welcome to wait around the fire pit. Since we really just wanted a drink, we asked if it was OK to just sit at the pit and enjoy a drink. No problem! Drink menus were immediately brought over and we set to work examining the excellent craft cocktail offerings. Larry opted for the So It Goes, which contained aquavit and tobacco smoke in addition to more standard ingredients. It was brought over with a bit of fanfare as they keep a lid on the glass to contain the smoke. The lid is then removed with a flourish. A drink and a show! It was expertly concocted and delicious. I opted for the Grapefruit Shandy... IPA, gin and grapefruit. A little bitter for my taste, but refreshing nonetheless. Other people were seated around the fire pit while they waited for their tables to be ready, and it had a nice, communal feel. They had live music on the other side of the room, so you could hear the singer in the background but it wasn't too loud or invasive. The service and the atmosphere were perfect. A+!

I rarely give a bad review, but I think my experience here warrants one. Both the staff and the ambiance were excellent. The fish and chips were disappointing. As you call an see by the photo it was overcooked, bone dry, and super tuff. I compared it to the golden brown fish and chips my neighbor was served to validate my suspicion. The fries were cold, tuff, and too salty for even me. I barley touched my plate and gave the majority of my food to my dog. Normally I wouldn't write a bad review, but the reaction from my server concerning the food was a simple "sorry". I imagined the cook in the kitchen looking at the fish thinking " this is burned, I know it's cooking back" and then playing it anyway. I don't send food back, I worked in a kitchen and I'll never send food back. I know it was just an isolated over cooked fish and chips, but I don't feel anyone took me seriously when I brought it up. I guess the staff thinks their food is perfect regardless of the customers opinion.

The restaurant itself was clean and had a stylish modern-meets-vintage vibe that made the atmosphere feel both cozy and upscale. Their cocktail menu was especially unique. I ordered the Vendetta Ride, and it was easily one of my favorite drinks of the night: light, slightly sweet, and finished with just the right kick. I absolutely loved it. The menu features creative contemporary American cuisine with an emphasis on sharing plates, which made the experience even more fun. We ordered two appetizers, two mains, and a dessert, and overall everything was excellent. My only critique would be the Duck Taquitos. The duck flavor was not there, and the mesquite mole sauce leaned too sweet for my taste. Aside from that, every dish impressed us. Overall, it was a fantastic meal and a great dining experience. I would highly recommend this spot if you're in Flagstaff!

Hospitality matters to me just as much as what's on the plate because great restaurants don't just serve meals; they create memories. Unfortunately, Shift became one I'll never forget for the wrong reasons. Our day couldn't have been further from what the staff assumed. We spent the morning hiking, went back to rest, explored a local bookstore, grabbed ice cream, and walked to our dinner reservation. Not one alcoholic drink had been consumed by anyone in our group the entire day. Not one. We also had a child with us. The only conversation we had with the host before being seated was asking whether it was okay that we had arrived about twenty minutes early for our reservation. We were polite, excited, and looking forward to dinner. Then my husband ordered a beer. The waitress immediately refused because she claimed the hostess believed my husbands speech and mannerisms meant he was intoxicated. Read that again. A guest who had consumed zero alcohol all day was judged to be intoxicated. I understand the responsibility restaurants have. If someone is genuinely impaired, absolutely don't serve them. Every responsible restaurant should protect its guests and its liquor license. But there is an equally important responsibility that seems to have been forgotten: making sure your judgment is actually right before labeling someone. There was no bar crawl. No cocktails beforehand. No wine tasting. No brewery stop. No hidden drinks. There wasn't even one drink. We left feeling embarrassed, confused, and honestly caught off guard. Not because a beer was refused, but because a person was reduced to an assumption based solely on how they naturally presented themselves. Here's what makes the experience even harder to understand. After leaving Shift, we walked to Atria, where we remained for approximately two hours. We talked, enjoyed ourselves, and spent the evening there without issue. If someone in our party had truly been intoxicated wouldn't that have been obvious there as well? It wasn't. Food can be good. Cocktails can be creative. Service can be polished. None of that matters if hospitality disappears the moment someone doesn't fit your expectation of what a guest "should" look or sound like. Maybe perhaps because we weren't locals we seemed off ? To anyone considering Shift, especially if you're traveling with someone whose speech, mannerisms, or disability could be misunderstood, know that this was our experience. I hope the restaurant reflects on what happened and asks itself a difficult question: How many guests have we mistaken for being intoxicated when, in reality, they simply communicated differently? Because that's not just a missed beer. That's a missed opportunity to treat someone with dignity. I came to Flagstaff excited to discover one of its most " creative" restaurants. Instead, I left wondering how quickly a restaurant built on hospitality could make a guest feel so unwelcome. Simply , because my husband is a restaurant manager in Las Vegas, who has managed restaurants like Yellowtail, Herbs&Rye, Gjelina, and Edo we left out of respect for the industry. However, we should have got our deposit automatically refunded. Next time, take the time. Take the time to care. If a staff member is under this assumption, management intervene not to just follow said assumption and repeat what she said, but to hold an actual conversation with your guest, to evaluate , to observe, to understand. I promise you, that would change so many things for you.
