I used to pick up said complicated pup from boarding and felt so guilty that he was so stressed even though he was familiar. After spending time at Happy Tails, he acts like he's moved in and has to say his goodbyes before he leaves! Night and day difference, and it brings a lot of comfort knowing they both genuinely feel safe and loved even if they're not at home. Everyone has been friendly and reasonable and it is obvious that they love dogs. My dogs love it here too; as soon as I get near the building they get excited and the vocal one can't stop barking when she gets out of the truck to go inside, lol. The facilities are great for socializing, heat control, and boarding. I can board them both in a single "cottage" for a discounted rate, although I must warn you that it is not cheap. However it seems to be competitive for the quality; you get what you pay for. Their time policy is very reasonable as well. You can drop them off BEFORE 2:00 PM for boarding that night at no extra charge and they will arrange for Sunday pickup. They require a "meet and greet" introduction to see how your dog does in a social setting; a free 4-hour boarding. They also require strict immunizations and spaying/neutering with proof but they cannot control owners who bring in dogs who may be sick so there is a risk in that regard. But the facilities are all artificial so any bodily fluids/waste, and potential infectious agents may be treated, unlike facilities with earthen ground. If for instance giardia, a common but troublesome parasite gets into the earth it is very difficult to remove which is a huge issue in kennels. I am trying them out for grooming but they are short-handed right now and I am still working with the groomer to get the look I want.

There was an initial visit for all of us to get to know one another, and it was immediately clear that each person is a dog lover. Marty really enjoyed the attention! Throughout the month I was there, it was so nice to come home to a happy, relaxed dog and a note from one of the walkers. It gave me so much peace of mind to know that I could stay at work for an extra hour or so if needed, because Marty was taken care of during the day. Kristen was also very easy to get in touch with if I had any changes to the schedule. The prices are very reasonable, and the service overall is so worth it. If I'm ever back in Boise for another long stretch of time, I'd love to work with The North End Dog Walker again!!

My groomer Roxanne- completely didn't show the second time my dog was scheduled with her. She…read moredidn't answer her phone or text me back at 7 am, when my appointment had been planned for weeks. She had moved and she had a story about her alarm not going off. I never got the grooming that day. I gave her another chance. Today I arrived at 7:07, due to getting stuck waiting to get out of my driveway by the garbage truck. Another groomer told me, as I entered that Roxanne had already left and said she was not waiting for me, since I was late. The good news is another amazing business All About Paws got us right in and gave our schnauzer the best cut she has ever had!! Sometimes things work out! I am just disappointed Roxanne couldn't call me herself and be professional! I don't think it was fair to the other groomer, who is an independent contractor, to have to tell me my groomer I waited 2 weeks to see was unable to be an adult and talk to me herself. Kind of like when I called and called her in the parking lot, while she slept. Lucky for me I have a better, more professional groomer that knows how to cut a schnauzer and communicate. They have already said- they can get me in 2-3 days from requesting an appointment. This is the difference from a true business and a group of independent contractors that want no responsibility to their actions. BEWARE!!!!!
