After someone told me to be careful with this facility as the dogs apparently do not have an indoor option when weather temps increase or drop, I called to ask if I could tour the facility and was told I could look at the 'tour book' as their insurance doesn't allow tours from a liability reason and.....it upsets the dogs! W-H-A-T?!!!! My dog is like my child! This is like telling a parent of a toddler they aren't allowed to tour the facility for their child's daycare as it may 'upset the other kids'! My dog is so happy there, she's excited to play with the other dogs every time I drop her off. I use both daycare and boarding and have been very satisfied with both. We wanted to find somewhere we trusted to board our mini Goldendoodle if our family and friends couldn't watch her, and I'm so glad we found Companions! All of the staff there that I've met are so nice, and I can tell they all care for the dogs like one of their own. They do a complimentary trial run to make sure all of the dogs boarded are socialized well and can get along with the other dogs. They also separate small dogs from big dogs during playtime. Companions posted a picture of our pup on their social media and you can tell she's having a great time. We had our Goldendoodle groomed while she was there during her last stay and Desiree did an amazing job! Just the cut I wanted and our pup looks adorable. My dog adores Companions! When we get close he starts fidgeting and making his happy doggo noises, and when we pull up he can hardly contain himself and immediately runs to the yard to see his friends once I let him out. Everyone is awesome and knows him by name, and even though he is a rather anxious and shy dog, he LOVES everyone who works here. We've done loads of daytime visits and an overnight and he did great with both- this is a wonderful place that places the safety and care for animals above all else- can't recommend enough!! read more

It's impossible to know for sure if the dog had a good day but he seemed to be happy when we picked him up. Did the whole registration process and sharing of details over the phone and online and it was super easy; the person who checked us in was friendly and eager to help. We were visiting from out of town and staying downtown, this location was also super convenient for us. Next time in Boise we'll definitely return. read more

This is the only dog daycare I've been to that requests tips... Connie is unbelievably rude. One time when I dropped my dog off for an overnight stay, she dumped the large bag with my am/pm daily food bags to count them. The bag count came up short by 4 bags. She insisted I could not leave my dog until I provided the correct food bag count. About 5 minutes after I left, she called and said she found the "missing food bags" on the ground. She's very condescending and dismissive. read more

We took our dog Biscuit for her first visit to Companions today and they made her very comfortable right away. She had lots of friends to play with and I could enjoy the afternoon knowing she was being well taken care of. She even came home with a report card!! The customer service was excellent. I take my dog to Companions Dog Resort 2-3 times/week. They take great care to ensure that my dog has play and rest time during the day and look out that he's not too cold with his short hair. When I pull up in my car, he is always excited to be there and pulls me to the entrance so that he can play with all of his doggy friends. So glad to have this option of getting my dog some great socialization and giving my legs a break from the daily runs to burn off some of his energy. read more

Our veterinarian recommended Companions Dog Resort seven years ago when we brought our two littermate border collies (male and female) in for their first puppy appointments. We have been clients since they were old enough to attend Companions for "play-time", boarding and also training. Due to a rare case of lupus, we lost our dear boy at the age of two after attempting every veterinarian intervention recommended. This was a devastating experience to go through, especially during countless visits and stays at West Vet (highly recommend for critical care ). During his treatments, the entire staff at Companions stepped in to help us care for his littermate and give her special attention knowing they were inseparable best friends. The compassion they demonstrated for all of us was remarkable. // Connie, TJ, Karen and the remaining team allow me total ease when we are out of town or if we need a little playtime for our female border collie. We tried using a house/ dog sitter when we moved to a different part of the valley, but we decided that the best care for our "family" member is with Companions and the drive is of little consequence in knowing that our minds are at total ease. The dog care, play time monitoring, office management and extra affection dedicated to each animal is exceptional! read more

I'm very happy with Companions. Kiera loves being there and the staff seem to love her and always compliment her. The staff really spend a lot of time with the dogs and play with them, so they come home happy and tired! When I drop Kiera off for boarding they always go over their notes with me to make sure she will be taken care of with any special considerations, such as for example to use her slow feeder bowl. I feel that she is well taken care of there and I don't have to worry when I leave her.
